The Super Fancy Index Post to The Compiled Kobold Information (extravaganza) Thread!

For Kobold Lore, go here:

For total beginners who don't know how to make a kobold, see these links:

Information relevant to the Dynamic Kobold Model:
Kobold Visual Armor!
Hair, Skin, Tattoo Color Reference Numbers

:?: Super exciting Normal Stuff Q & A section! :!:

Q: How do I get access to the kobold voice sets?
A: First, you have to unlock the NPC/Monster voice sets.
    You can do so by going to Varia: Files and Downloads;
Or directly here: Soundset.2da to unlock NPC soundsets and such.
The download for the Soundset.2da is at the bottom of the download list.
Second, if you do not unlock the voice sets to be available indiscriminate of gender, then you must select male as your gender.
In fact, I would suggest you choose male for your gender regardless of what your character's actual gender is for mechanical purposes, as described below.

:?: Super exciting Dynamic Q & A section! :!:

Q: Where do I get my kobold changed over to the Dynamic Model?
A: Go to the Maintenance room from the Entry room on either Server A or B, before entering the game world.
Speak with the kobold NPC. You will be booted for the changes to take affect after confirming the change.

Q: How do I change my kobold's body colors once it has been made Dynamic?
    A: You have a few options for doing this;

1.) You can politely ask a DM while In Game to change your skin color, using this link to find the reference number for the desired color.
2.) The "Kobofier" NPC in the Maintenance room can change your head, skin, hair and tattoo colors. However, the full palette of colors is not currently available with this method.
3.) The Hair and Tattoo NPCs at Kampo's can alter your kobold's colors at any time for a fee.
Follow the NPC instructions and use this reference to find the number of your desired color:

      Hair color = Eye color
      Skin color = Scale color
Tattoo 1 color = Ear and eye ridge
Tattoo 2 color = Teeth, horns and talons

Q: How do I change my kobold's base clothing colors once it has been made Dynamic?
A: Set all armor appearances to 0 (which is actually appearance #2, in most cases) and set your desired colors:

      Cloth 2 = Clothing color
      Metal 2 = Bracelet color

Q: How do I change my kobold's head once it has been made Dynamic?
A: The "Kobofier" NPC in the Maintenance room can change your head.
You have the 3 choices of head type in addition to the default, which you can see examples of below. This becomes your default head, which will be covered by an equipped helmet.

Q: Why won't the NPC let me change to the Dynamic Model?
A: Only Male kobolds using Model A (302) or B (305), the plain brown and blue ones without armor or fancy armlets, can be changed to the Dynamic Model by the NPC. You can ask a DM to change your kobold to one of these models in game.
Female kobolds cannot be changed to the Dynamic model, as there is only one actual model and it is considered male by the mechanics.
You can have a female kobold which is mechanically male by posting your request on the LETO forum.
If you can provide your character's file name in the LETO request, it should help the DMs process your request.
You can pull up the file name by typing or copying in the following line while in game: /s f_file show vault

Q: What happens to my kobold's voice set when their gender is changed?
A: They will keep their original voice set. If you would like to have their voice set changed to one of the kobold monster voicesets, you can include that in your LETO request.

Q: What if I don't want to use the Dynamic Model? Do I have any other options for customization?
A: Yes! You have six Static models that you can choose between and ask to have a DM change your kobold's appearance to. You can see what these look like in the post below. When requesting a model, please use the number rather than name for the convenience of the DMs.

The Super Fancy Fashion Show Edition of The Compiled Kobold Information (extravaganza) Thread!

Curious what your kobold will look like with the Dynamic Model?

Not only will your kobold be able to dress themselves as they see fit, but they can finally shed those dusty old scales to reveal a pragmatically glamorous, fully-chromatic inheritor of Draconic heritage and display it with pride! Allow them to paint their horns and talons according to tribe or whim; reflect their Inner Dragon through the hue of their eyes; and groom themselves with luxurious, pigment-infused bitterleaf oil to strengthen, shine and color their scales after a hard day in the mines!

Have a look at these dedicated task-masters and tireless laborers, stunning specimens of herpetology!

Head 4 (#167)

Be aware that the awesome kobold turban does suffer from some clipping issues.
Helmet/Hood/Hat colors are controlled by clothing color.

:!: Tail Options

Pelvis 2 is the only Pelvis option that will show the kobold's tail.

Most Robe options hide the tail. The following Robe options have a visible tail:
Robe 6 (Long coat with cloth shirt) and Robe 7 (Long coat with chain shirt), although the tail clips through the long coat.
    Robe 26 (Hat with feather)
    Robe 35 (Fancy coat)
    Robe 45 (Circlet)

Additionally, kobolds now have the option to ask for a free tail swap to the following options:

Black 0000000000000 Blue 0000000000000 Green 0000000000000 Red 0000000000000 White

(You can also click on the color name to see a larger version of the tail on a grey background)

:!: Static Model Options

The Dynamic model stands almost a head taller than the Static models, and some prefer to have a shorter, true-to-size model. While the Static models are not nearly as customizable as the Dynamic, you still have some options to request a swap to:

Image 000 Image 000 Image
Kobold A (302) 000000000000000000 Kobold Thug (300) 00000000000000 Kobold Shaman (301)

Kobold B (305) 000000000000000000 Kobold Footpad (303) 00000000000000 Kobold Healer (304)

Have these been added to R&L yet?

I guess I could link them in the kobold subrace section, yes.

Better to copy and merge the posts there, in case of prunings. That leaves a copy here, too.

I'm not making the subrace section 1000x longer due to this and it's too specific to warrant its own R&L topic.

If you make sure the links don't get lost when/if we prune, sure. But we already lost some good stuff because it was linked and not posted properly.

Not that it's a problem for these to be posted in the mechanics topic, for example, and linked to the kobbo topic from there. I can do it, too. Or creating your character, even better.

Looks cool. I just hate that Kobold and Goblins, when with helmets and full cloths, look exactly like Hin if you don't look closely... >.>

Bastards are going to give us a bad name, I tells ya!

I will bugger through the program I have to check on helmet appearance numbers that work for Kobolds. It's so hard to have a fashionable helmet when you have a reptillian snout.

The "bird beak" helmet (19) and the "tusked wolf" helmet (63) are the only ones I've found that look even remotely possible for a kobold head to be crammed in.

The "vegetable steamer mouth" helmet (6) would also probably work, but it's so ugly.

The one I use with Qeelak that looks like a skull could fit a Kobold head in it. I don't remember the reference number for it off hand but it isn't part of the standard crafting que, so I know there isn't a crafting number ^^;

It is my pleasure to inform you all that the illustrious Kobold subrace may now wear Robes and such without the discomfort of "tail-tucking" thanks to a new ruling.

Kobolds can now swap their tails to a proper tail model, allowing them to wag as free as the day that they hatched. Speaking of free...

This is a -free- change done in the same spirit as Dragon Disciples being allowed to swap wing models and can be handled by any DM. Please note only "Lizard" tails will be acceptable for a free swap.

•:Despite looking like lizard tails, Bone tails are by request only.:•

Why not provide them a kobo_plt tail instead? It more closely resembles a kobold tail and can be colored based on their skin color.

Also, can they each be given a widget to change their head so they can have the hood/turban/helm/normal head too, without having to go to the koboldifier each time?

Updated image links. I think some of the information is due for a minor update as well, but I'll need to double-check first.

Added Static model info and images, made the tail option section better.
