That's not really an option. There's no hak, the example isn't working that well, and the head pack would have to be redone.

Well the heads would need to be converted to wings. Which can be easy just time consuming if it works how I think.

Then the heads would just need to stay the same, but we'd need to make a null head to be used for when we give the open helms.

So it would go, *puts on open helm* the script remembers original head, sets head to 0, sets wings to xxx. Now have helmet and head. Sadly these must be request only to make it select the right wing head. Also anything with wings will not get these unless I go all out and make every head with every wing possible.... yeah no.

But good thing is it's all 2da and scripting and a few open helmet models. Size should not increase much at all.

[Edit] Maybe a bit of 3D model editing to make sure winged heads land on the shoulders properly. That is far more work than it sounds.

You forget getting the open helmet models.

That's a really fancy demonstration of possibility. A shame it'd be a massive amount of work if contemplated by the team. Masks would be so compatible with that kind of set-up... but alas, I can only dream.

I sort of thought they were in that link Selvec left to the bioware forums. Yeah if those aren't there then I have no idea where to get them.

Well. Theres those cloaks that change your heads to hooded models.

If you really wanted to, couldn't you make a helmet that changes the head to one of the open faced helm models that already exist in the headpack?

Ok, faces wont match up exactly. And its humans (elves?) only. Minor technicality. But seems a tad more doable than creating a face only version of every head available.

Oh, yea I wasn't suggesting we add them, just that its a demonstration of possabilities and is nifty.

NWN related niftyness.

Though the people who were working on this are now part of project Q, so its possible you could see open helms in project Q in the future. Errrr, if it didn't blow up that is.

No idea how I didn't spot this sooner.
This fails since the idea was before visable cloaks. If you put on a cloak with this, it will nom your head off.

Only alternative is making them tail models. Which will make one giant tail list with 1.69 and our hak.

I actually remember talking to Disco about this when we first did the hak. Only my idea was a bit backward of this.
It as make the helmets model a tail so that the head never removed. But the issue was no matter what you do the head gets taken off by the helmet slot being filled.

I may have a better idea, but Ill need to think about sometime not around finals and work.

Probably not, due to Mahtan's post.
