So armed gaurds makes you unable to attack?

Just cause theres guards doesn't mean someone cant stab you. Sure if they metagame the guards thats a different story. But really come on its the rough part of town regardless if security has been beefed up or not.

You don't need actual PvP to roleplay a stabbing.

Oh bloody hell might as well have a nopvp server.

No seriously you must've had a reason for turning it from pvp to nopvp. Im not asking for cordor east to be turned back to a pvp area. Im just well I suppose complaining about the fact that cordor south has been turned into a no pvp area.

As I said I dont want to jump to conclusion so if you dont know whats going on then (Not to sound rude) Your just talking for the sake of talking.

I'm with Nex on this.

Well, I did not agree with Cordor east nopvp either ;P

Whatever the personal opinion, "you do not need the game engine to do things the engine is made for" is never an explanation.

Okay I would like to see it returned back to pvp but then I remember those days its a toss up whether or not lots of pvp is better then randomly standing in one place for hours.

The commonwealth has spoken. They want no more violence in Cordor South, so the guards moved in and patrols the area with the same zeal as the EO nuts.

It'd help if you look at it as simply the most headache free implementation for the DMs of this change.

If you want it changed I suggest start by corrupting the guards, councilors, etc. Then move in lots of gangs in the South and start causing troubles against the guards... make it not worth the effort and too expensive to have guards patrol the area. ^^

I just don't see the problem. I think this is only a measure to prevent metagaming the guards. It's not like there's an OOC ban on all roleplayed PvP interactions.

Possible, since I avoid Cordor with almost all chars like the devil avoids holy water.

Make Cordor party PVP, and remove all NPC guards.

Dont see how the change has made it any easier or harder on the dms.

Instead of having to posess one of the numerous guards and smash the troublemaker, the engine doesn't allow the trouble to occur.
Easier.

There was a DM event involving Cordor South, and as far as I know this is temporary.

A forum search would confirm that it's simply an error, as the area hadn't been returned to Party PvP after the Cordor South Lockdown was revoked.

And, bloody hells guys, ditch the attitudes would you? You know who you are.

The request to have it returned to PvP was placed quite a while ago, it just hasn't been done yet.

Great job on jumping to conclusions while swearing you wouldn't jump to conclusions.

I wonder if a script could be made where if you killed someone in Cordor you automatically get tossed in the clink, your portal wand gets confiscated and your home location is set to inside Cordor jail until a trial or prison break, both of which requiring DM supervision to change your home location back and regive the wand.

Not so great an idea, because in South Cordor, it is possible to kill someone and get away with it.

script could be made area wide in East and maybe Central and West. In the south make it center on guards with a large area for sight and a small area for listen around corners. Would only trigger in the south, outdoors, within sight of a guard; making it more likely to get away with at night and in blind areas.

edit: such a script would allow for Cordor east to be made partypvp again and allow for people to actually get into 'to the pain' fights. And people would no longer get to exploit the noPvP system currently in place.

I call it extrapolating on a hypothesis.

Anyways, this seems clear enough.

There'll be a rather unhappy Civic employee if folks start turning South Cordor into a bloodbath zone again. (techinically with the Serial killer running down there, it might well be considerable as such)

So long as metagaming NPCs dies with it.

Yes, I can understand the guard needing OOC help with things like arresting some people, or certain other things. But the sudden securing of South Cordor with literally no Player Guard physical enforcement being demonstrated to Criminals is pretty lame.

Just because they are NPC's doesn't mean they should be excempt from doing certain things. Make South Cordor PvP again.

Reasons: Because I finally got to PvP a Brother of Blood yesterday with supported rp and couldn't! You took my chance to shine!

Let's just all calm down -

It was changed to no PvP for an event, the event is over and now it's changing back.

Did you guys read the "Reasons:" bit or did you skip over it? I was having a tease.

Maybe I made that to obscure.
