*Across Amia, the initial notices are taken down. The process is slow and anyone who wanted to take a copy has ample time to take one. The dialogue from Ianthe, Sand, Yaston, Katherine and other commentary is faithfully preserved and reproduced.*

*New posters, all made in gold-fringed white stationary characteristic of Dawnguard proclaimations are re-issued in those areas which saw discussion emerging in the commentary areas of the noticeboards. The posters are issued across the Amian isle. They are not publically posted off the Amian isle except in Wiltun. Copies are send to Si’Neela and the Eternal Order in Ne’Sek in sealed envelopes notifying them of the notice and inviting dialogue.*

*****************************************

At the request of the First Knight, our initial proclamation has been removed.

This is not to suggest we have shifted in the position for which we made public statement.

Allow me to indicate the document which prompted our initial reaction. The following is a quote from the laws and doctrine of the Eternal Order. This secret document was obtained when the Eternal Order warred with Bane. An inquisitor began attacking a war ally under false pretences in a move that threatened strategic resources and the security of the war alliance. The Eternal Orders self-appointed war leader could not control his own inquisitor and the document was provided seeking to prove the man was in breach of the EO codes. Whats amazing is what they consider legitimate.

Quote:
Inquisitorial Powers:
• The Office of Inquisition has the power to suspend any kelemvorite from their duties under the suspecion of heresy or blasphemy.
• The Office of Inquisition holds the highest authority in the Church of lord Kelemvor.
• The Office of Inquisition can place any area under quarantine due to extreme taint of heretical powers.
~• The Office of Inquisition has the right to interrogate anyone they deem necessary.~

If one walks into the inquisitorial office to check, there is another document that outlines interrogation practices. The established second action of interrogation [out of ten actions listed which an inquisitor should take] is physical torture. This is used as a means of ascertaining guilt. It is not used as punishment on the guilty, its used to work out who are guilty and who are not.

There is no statement that an inquisitor is responsible for using these powers against those who are known to have commited crimes. Nor is there any mention of any official whos permission must be sought before torture proceeds.

Questioning the court that dictates this action is a listed crime for which one being questioned suffers a minimum of ten lashes.

This is the issue under contention. Not the use of torture, for that has always been known to be a practice used by the Eternal Order which they happily make public. Rather the total lack of control on the torturers.

These powers were established to control criminals. But now that Lady Sharina no longer holds an office by which to control the inquisitors, there is no management by the church – the inquisitors have total freedom with the Orders sanction to use these powers against anyone, just as a terror weapon. Its not right.

The system worked once when Sharina guided the use of the torture rights and powers, but its being abused and its no longer appropriate. Its gone on too long for the process to continue uncontrolled or answered by silence. I stand by my words and the evidence I hold.

Ianthe’s judgement is respected and Sand has been summoned to face trial. This should preferably occur before a court of Tyr. The result will be publically announced. Sand may prove to be guilty and in this case the Eternal orders methods vindicated. Or he may be proven innocent and our stance vindicated. Either way the public deserve to know and be a part of this.

Copies of our original notice are available from Dawnguard executives Mengala, Renais, Thayne and Jendra upon request.

This notice was written by Dawnspeaker Renais Whiteheart, Commander of the Dawnguard order.

N.B. The Dawnguard made the assumption that Lathanderan institutions disapprove policies that lead to torture practices being mistakenly used against the innocent. On this basis we have expressed a position which may not be supported by the Ne’Sek church of Lathander. Cultural differences may lead to the Ne’Sek church adopting different policies.

// This has been delivered where and to whom, by whom and under whose name and authority? I find it difficult to reply in any way. Considering the Dawnguard in no way represents the officials of the church of Lathander I am fairly confused.

// As far as I know the Dawnguard is an organisation within the Lathanderite faith. Individual places of worship are ruled by their high priests. For example the EO is allied with the church in Nes'ek but has not been allied with the Dawnguard in a long time, which creates a lot of fun tension around. Anyways, this is not relevant to my question on details on how one can respond to this, if a response is even seen worthwile and on to whom this is visible and where. I dislike offensive actions against other factions without means of response.

// true, there is no location where this is posted, though I would likely say it was sent to the EO as a letter from Renias since that's what she said IC yesterday. Of course there was some nice fun in Ne'Sek yesterday in the temple there shortly before this was posted. I would also like to be able to reply to this ICly if it is posted anywhere publicly viewable as I have a few things to add as well.

A murmured word in the Celestial tongue of distaste is formed on the lips of Madrik Street, but the breath does not touch the air around him. He only learns in brief the grinding tension between the factions of the Eternal Order and the Dawnguard.

Terribly distracted and focused on what is occuring in his own life and what has occured to Headmaster Ulrik Valis, Madrik has recently lacked his usual diplomatic maintenance. His own code of respecting each factions' mannerisms and avoiding favoritism makes his job especially difficult.

At this point in his life, it is impossible to commit all of his time to these factions. He remembers the drow; the potential assistant. He needs the help.

For now, he has no choice but to allow these factions resolve this on thier own - until it gets out of hand.

A certain shadow fades into view, sitting in his regular pew within the chapel... Three words he mutters before kneeling to pray... Its about time.

//The Dawnguard has never had authority in Nes'ek, and have never been "official" there other than being member sof the faith. The dawnguard collectively decided to snub that offer and remain in Kohlingen and Cordor, therefore you do not have it.

Let it be known that the inquiry performed in the chapel of Cordor was done AT SAND'S REQUEST.
Also, let it be known Sand is /not/ a Weave Knight, and has not been one since before he sought sanctuary with the Dawnguard under false pretenses, whether you choose to see it or not.

Attached to this, the note from Sand to Ianthe, requesting she and Maioth meet him in the Chapel in Cordor.

You attacked me once because I was stupid enough not to guard myself from you.

It will not happen again.

As for threats, yes. If you work willingly with undead, you should die. I do not make this un-known. They are an abomination, and should be treated as such, as should those that embrace them. Especially those that do so for piddly personal gain.

Such as yourself.

Jaocim was a happy addition, however, were you truly innocent you would have nothing to fear, of him or of the Prelate. This leaves one to wonder why you yet cower and hide, if you truly have nothing to fear. Come forth and say the words again that you said, how you wish you were not tel'Quess, how we are abhorrent. Let then we see who holds you close and listens to pathetic lies.

I believe your behaviour speaks far more for your guilt than /anything/ the Templar, the Prelate, or myself could say.

All would do well to remember that by the Seldarine, the Undead are not to be tolerated, nor are their makers, nor their compatriots. In this, as in many lines of thought, are the noble Lords and Ladies of the Fair Folk united with the gods of the younger races.

Now, cower, fool. Cower from the thought that the mistake you made here on Abeir-Toril will only follow you here. Cower from your own decrying of our blood and your gods. Hide behind a Human goddess, and see where your soul rests when the time for ascendancy comes, and /she/ will not have you either.

I have /nothing/ further to say to you, Dhaerrow. All I need say, or express, has been done.

**A public notice is delivered to these places.
- the Cathedral of the Eternal Order in Ne'sek
- the temple of Lathander also in Ne'sek
- the chapel of Lathander in Cordor
- the temple of the Triad in Kholingen
- and all other public posting boards in surface cities**

Let this public declaration stand as a notice of inquiry into the Eternal Order and its membership to ascertain if subversive elements are among their ranks, corrupting the holy Order from within.

It is necessary for this inquiry to be led by Kelemvorites that are not members of the Eternal Order due to this possible subversion.

The highest ranks within the Eternal Order have been previously informed of this inquiry before this public notification.  This was done as a simple gesture of respect and not as an attempt to gain permission for this inquiry to be done, for it will be done no matter what the Eternal Order desires.  As with others that the Eternal Order would Question and Examine, including previous Kelemvorites, we too shall not ask permission and use the same methods the Eternal Order applies.

The Kelemvorites in this inquiry not part of the Eternal Order are not beholden to the sects codes of conduct or canon, for no oath was taken to follow them.  It will be seen as complicity to end this inquiry if the Eternal Order proclaims authority to judge over any Kelemvorite performing this inquiry, be it the banishing to the branding as heretic to the codes of the Eternal Order.

The results of the inquiry will be given to the highest authority of the Eternal Order, the head master of the Tower of Mystra, the highest ranking Knight Templar of the Dawnbringers, and the High Priest of Kelemvor.

May Truth shine and Kelemvor's will be done.

Cassius Varthapa
Servant of Kelemvor

Despite her stance, any defacing Ianthe sees occurring is met with a stony glare and a sharp order to step /back/ away from Renais' posters.

Seems she's an equal opportunity pain.

having been around cordor long enough null eventually receives one of the notices from one of the dawnguard.

"floged a paladin of tyr, well they deserve whats coming to them."

with little suprise or interest, he tacks it to cordors message board for all to see. he circles the part...

Quote:
During the attack on the church of Bane, the order attacked two of its own war allies.

...and leaves it at that.

// The posters are ~TAKEN DOWN~. The following represents the original document so that it is available for those who take posters before they are taken down, the groups who recieved the notice via delivery [EO, Redweth, Si'Neela] Please note that these posters were not posted in Ne'sek as outlined in the original post faithfully reproduced in virgin form here.

//*Issued by Dawnguard throughout the Amia isle, excepting such areas as tarkuul or drow cities: also in wiltun, with notices being delivered to the Eternal Order church. Copies given to Redweth and Si'neela invite letters of reply to Renais so she might know their opinion. It is not posted publically in ne'sek to avoid upsetting the commoners there.*//

The importance of a thing is measured by the sacrifices one is prepared to make in order to keep it.

Many individuals on the isle have found peace after finally finding within themselves something they must protect and uphold at any cost. The serenity of knowing when it is better to die than fail to make a stand. Finding something within that one would face death or hell to protect. To this end, how many have become skilled in the art of efficient killing? To learn to die to protect a way of life, or to protect truth. One such group is the Eternal Order.

Focussed in cleansing that which they hate, the ordermen pursue killing as an art form that they might achieve their goal. They authorize their inquisitors to arrest any individual, and torture any individual, without any evidence or effort to ascertain guilt prior to beginning the task.

The Order has publically flogged a paladin of Tyr.

The Order has killed a Dawnguard and then admitted the killing occurred through incompetence.

During the attack on the church of Bane, the order attacked two of its own war allies.

And two days ago they stepped within the grounds of our holy chapel and interrogated a man who had sought sanctuary there. A man of honour. A weave knight. We have ascertained he commited no crime. Our sanctuary was invaded by an armed and enchanted force, who had no right to assault that man!

Torture rights are disgusting to begin with – but at the very least they can be directed at the enemy, and those who are known to sew fear and pain. Amia cannot afford to have rights to torture any citizen being given to incompetent and unethical men who abuse these rights as a terror weapon. Who abuse their holy mandate!

This is as disgusting as the order’s lie that it considers Lathanderans to be allies. We did not even receive a report, let alone an apology.

Consider this a public warning that the Dawnguard also enjoy serenity and peace of mind – hard won from our deep awareness of what we will die to protect! It includes the right to perceive and speak of injustice! It includes our faith in human dignity and the right of the innocent to live without fear.

We know your own codes classify speaking against the Eternal Order as a crime that merits torture even when everyone is aware of your gross violations against people who never angered Kelemvor. We have seen you terrorise good people too many times for too long.

The Church of Lathander sees your brutality. We will be watching.

*The situation remains the same. The Eternal Order has not reacted to public slander or taunts, and the Order's offers for diplomatic contacts remain unanswered. The operations of the Order continue as usual, whatever that usual is.*

*A low hunched being is seen placing addendums to the notices where it can. It is large, cloaked in huge dark brown robes which drag behind it, thick leather gloves which hold metal paddings on the inside as it walked on all fours. Each posting had a manually pushed in nail which tacked it beneath the notices in Cordor, near but not within Bendir, those present at Kempo's storehouse, and Wiltun, though not in that particular order.*

1. If there is proof of this "lich lackey" bring it forward.
2. Mayhap the paladin and others realized the cursed cloak could be used against the Vampires.
3. I -was- a Banite, though through the aid of one of the Dawnguard you seem to hate so much, I have now gained free will and chosen to follow a God who wants peace, not death.
4. Again, please present proof of the accusation.
5. There were political reasons for separating, do your homework or hell, ask the dawnguard.
6. Nobody is without Sin, but the Dawnguard act when they see injustice, and as for the Eternal order they are little more than Banites with their twisted sense of "justice"
7. It is always best to learn all sides of a situation before acting, something you apparently dont realize.
8. Who says they arent? I frequent Guldorand often as I used to live there and offer aid where I can.
9. Because as stated before, the Eternal Order have twisted their God's teachings to the point where they are little better than the banites, and worse in some ways.

If you have any more issues, post your name instead of hiding behind cowardice, and bring forth the issues through the Dawnguard Heirarchy. That way the problems will actually get resolved.

-Vick Bross, Faithful of the Morning Lord

An ugly hin is overheard exclaiming in the bustling square of Cordor before cussing.

To answer the questions Vick suggested you ask a Dawnguard here...
We are not part of the triad because to add the faithful of a fourth deity to the triad would make it the quad. Lathander being neither Tyr, Torm, or Illmater is not part of the triad. We are however their friends and we work together when the situation warrants. We also do not try to arrest each other on made up charges when our orders are on occasion at odds.

To clear up about weather one is a paladin or not, that is between the person and their deity. The only mortal who has a right to say one ordained as a paladin by any deity is that person. The only deity with the right to say they are no longer a paladin is their deity. Therefor, Kelemovre, Tyr, Torm, Helm, Sune, or any deity with their own paladins save Lathander has no right to tell Lathander who his paladins are.

Any other questions, ask in person and we may be able to clear things up for you a little better.

Jendra Galendt, Paladin of Lathander, Lieutenant of Dawnblades, DawnGuard.

Whoever wrote those questions,

I will try to clarify a few thing, since there are misunderstandings regarding the past relations between the Dawnguards and the Triadic Knights. It seems that some people tend to mix up the Triad and the Triadic Knights as well, without knowing the meaning of the mistake.
The Dawnguards were never part of the Triad. It would be impossible for a group of mortal to be the part of the Triad.
The Dawnguards were not even part of the Triadic Knights, but used to reside in the keep of Kohlingen for a while with the permission of the Knights and the Justicar.

Mr Bross,

If this is the answer of a Dawnguard, then with respect, I must ask you to do your own "homework" and learn the proper answer of that question. A Holy Order does not banish another Holy Order from the Keep of Kohlingen for "political reasons". I strongly suggest to consult with the Dawnspeaker before you make such a statement.

Lady Jendra,

Even if your statement is very true, it is still not the answer.

May the Triad watch over you!

Sincerely,
Lord Yaston Sylgerand
Grandmaster of the Triadic Knights

And; not unexpectedly, There is still no official word from the Knight's of the Martyr Saint. Any words shouted and/or Written remain... Left there; unvanquished, unassuaged, And Un-Vandalised.
Operations continue as usual; whatever the 'usual' is.

Being a selfclaimed spy or a diplomat seems to be a fashion nowadays. Even if I have no reason to doubt in your words, I doubt that you would know much about those times in Kohlingen, at least hardly more then the ones who made the decision on the banishment. In case if you are not a Dawnguard, then do not interfere?

Vick, quit looking down your nose at people. It looks bad on the rest of us.

Way to represent your god. Thanks for spreading the knowledge of His kind and forgiving nature through insults and unkindness. Kindly stuff a sock in it so people don't think we're all mannerless nutjobs, thanks.

**A public notice is delivered to these places.
- the Cathedral of the Eternal Order in Ne'sek
- the temple of Lathander also in Ne'sek
- the chapel of Lathander in Cordor
- the temple of the Triad in Kholingen
- and in the public posting boards of Cordor, Kholingen, Brogenstein, Uhm, Wharftown**

Let it be known that on this day, public notice for Brother Gill Bensbannard of the Eternal Order was delivered to him in person, that he submit himself to the Questioning by Cassius Varthapa, servant of Kelemvor, within one weeks time. Know that this Questioning does occur from the great number of allies of Kelemvor that speak of their suspicion that Brother Gill is a subversive element and has lost his path of service to Kelemvor.

Such methods used by the Eternal Order and Brother Gill himself shall be applied during this Questioning, and the findings shall be made public.

The Inquiry stands and waits for the willful compliance of Brother Gill to allow the Questioning of his person, and shall wait one week for him to respond. After such time, the Inquiry shall use whatever means necessary to further pursue this investigation into Brother Gill Bensbannard by what ever means it deems necessary.

~ Cassius Varthapa
Servant of Kelemvor

To all Dawnguard reading this and all responses to such. It shall be forbidden for your continued bantering on this message board. As Justicar of the Dawnguard I find your actions repugnant and divisive. It shall stop immediately.

Delia's remain up, despite orders. The by-now rather irritable dawnblade, pregnant and moody, can be seen muttering to herself as she reads it, twisting her wedding ring viciously.

Let it be known that Brother Gill Bensannard has chosen not to submit to the Questioning of his person, that he does not allow the same methods of information gathering upon himself that he uses on others, being torture, and that he now stands as suspect by the Inquiry of Subversion. Know that Brother Gill Bensbannard will now be sought for Questioning without his permission, that he shall be captured outside of the legal jurisdications of surface cities, and that this Questioning shall have witnesses to bear for the answers he would give.

Again, such methods used on Brother Gill Bensbannard will comprise of the same methods the Order and Gill Bensbannard himself have used in the past.

A man dressed in darkened blue clothing rather hastily scribbles beneath a public notice in Cordor:

The Dawnguard threaten to remove heads of those that hug them. For shame.
