*a single notice is left in every surface city, the Dale, Amia Forest, and the Shrine of Eilistraee. Witnesses speak of a jovial bald dwarf doing the postings*
Here I stand on this bold, dark night, At the crossroads of unbridled fate. If these paths do cross nigh, Will you take the one less travelled by, Or will you ever be too late?
The darkness closes swiftly tonight, Here at the end of all things. The cry of wolves lingers here, The screams of those taken in fear; Terror has at last been given wings.
The people cower before the night, Afraid to step where once they tread. Even the mighty step inside at dusk, Their pride left in a shattered husk, Fleeing their sense of impending dread.
But not I, my lost and weary friends. I stand, and let the world take note. If Selune grants my every dream, Then let me stand in Her silvery stream, Singing the verses learned by rote.
It is fear that gives a beast its strength; Cowards that ever power its will. If this should only be a beast, Let it come and take its feast; See me smile long after the kill.
So here I stand on this dark, bold night, A symbol of what we have lost. Remember your hearts, my weary friends, Remember each night, always has its end; Let no light waver without a heavy cost.
*After making his rounds, the dwarf stares silently up at his creation for several moments, before turning on his heel and disappearing into the night.*
