Notices are placed up across the different districts of Cordor (with town criers hired to further draw attention), Kohlingen, Bendir Dale and Wharftown. In time, the notice is delivered to Barak Runedar. One or two copies find their way to Wiltun, and even Tarkuul.

Quote:
To Raise the Cathedral of Lathander

The great war has come to an end. While pockets of the Arcanum may remain across Faeruhn, they shall be hunted and be made to suffer retribution for their treachery and crimes against mortals and gods alike. Much has been lost, and all have been scarred by the dark days past. Yet by Lathander’s will we now stand in a new day, and the opportunities that come with it. In the coming weeks we shall rebuild the bare necessities, for there are many who remain without housing. But let us also look beyond the immediate.

The world is forever changed by what Colin Reyes and his servants have done. It shall never be as it once was, nor should we strive for this. Let us not merely rebuild, but improve. To do so is the greatest honor to those who have sacrificed themselves to ensure this future, and the greatest offense to the likes of Reyes and his kin – for from their evil do we rise higher than before.

We shall see many changes still in the years to come as the world settles into a new balance, yet I look forward with interest. Old realms shall be reshaped into new forms. Old trade routes shall be abandoned for new paths. And former enemies may yet become the greatest allies. In the spirit of this new age to come I announce a project both ambitious and pious – and I invite all to contribute and collaborate in this labor of peace, as they did trough the crucible of war.

Let the Chapel of Lathander in Cordor be expanded into a true Cathedral of the Morninglord. Let it be the greatest temple of the Keeper of the Eternal Sun on the very western border of Faeruhn, that its light may guide pilgrims and seekers alike. Let it stand a testament to our unyielding resolve in the face of darkness and chaos, and our faith in of the bright days ahead.

While this great endeavor may not hold the same urgency as the critical rebuilding to be done, it would contribute to the prosperity of Cordor and the greater region for many months if not years to come. For this labor shall directly and indirectly employ hundreds if not thousands, and support the creation of new trade – thus we do not forget the injury done to the Merchant’s Friend by the spiteful hatred of Reyes.

To set this project in motion, I hereby call on architects far and wide to submit their first designs within the next three tendays. The architect whose design best reflects the glory of Lathander shall be contracted to guide the construction itself.

I may furthermore be contacted via Commonwealth Courier or in person by those others who wish to collaborate trough donations of coin or materials, or other means still. Practical construction shall be contracted when the design has been set.

Aurelius

((Please submit your entries to me before November 8. These can be toolset areas, detailed drawings or any other form you like. The design needs to show the inside of the cathedral and its general layout, though adding a description or illustration of the outside view would be a welcome addition.))

((A small update on this. As the Dev team will not directly import your area, a conceptual design (showing the general layout, atmosphere and whatever details you feel should be included) would suffice.))

General rule of thumb is 2 interior tiles for every 1 exterior tile.

That said, while it is intended to be a fairly large and impressive temple it will be built in the middle of the city - and it would be sensible to avoid having to tear down too many houses for it. As such, it might be better to look towards a design that is mainly built skywards rather than covering a large area.

Two possible suggestions for temple concepts (though feel free to go wild with your own):
1. A circular temple with a domed roof, trough which sunlight illuminates the central altar (or a statue or relic or whatnot).
2. A temple built around a central outdoor courtyard garden, similar to a roman villa or an abbey.

Again, as the dev team will not directly import your area it is more important to make an interesting conceptual design than to work out every detail.))
