Seeking to purchase two tomes to add to my library. Paying very well for them. I do not wish to borrow, but purchase. Seek me out if you wish to gain generous compensation.

A response is left at Kampo's, written upon the finest of vellum..

Mister Azure,
Though I find highly hypocritical, mildly amusing, and slightly flattering
that you would visit the City of Mindflayers and not the City of Knowledge
seeking for a tome, I feel somewhat obliged to inform you that both books
are readily available in the Library of Tarkuul.

Post Scriptum: No payment is required.

You may find it however you like, but I also made it clear I'm not in the market to borrow, but actually purchase to own the books in question.

At the same location, a few hours later..

R,
It does not change a fact that you are seeking in all the places, including the city
of the Mindflayers (something I just cannot resist emphasizing once more), except
the City of Knowledge. It makes one believe that you find the slave market, suckling
the brain juices out of intelligent creatures and similar activities perfectly acceptable.
This is what I find amusing, hypocritical and flattering at the same time, since you
are rather bluntly avoiding the City of Knowledge; a small elaboration in case you
missed the finer points of my observation.

Post Scriptum: If you insist, I shall allow you to pay in gold for something you could
have for free. It would be rude not to indulge your urges.
