But wouldn't the creatures that knocked me out, check if I was actually dead or maybe want to eat my juicy fresh corpse? :D

You're free to Perma yourself on death if you want, or simply say the creatures got bored or mischecked after robbing you of monies!

So the correct way is to respwan where you died? I'm seriously not trolling here. It's just a really awkward situation when you and your party are killing baddies one minute and appear in Cordor the next. You're just standing there looking at each other and getting a huge headache trying to come up with a way to explain what just happened.

You are makin' a lot of tough questions. if you decide to respawn back in your bindpoint, we could assume there has been some time between your "demise" and how you ended up back in Cordor. It is up to you to explain how, using the rules of creativity and commooooooooon seeeeeeeeeeeeense.

Calling it "correct" would be a bit much, I think, Polris. It's not like spawning back to your home point is somehow "incorrect." Just, one is explicable IC and the other isn't.

Yes, it's awkward. You're looking for a way around the awkwardness, I get it. But there isn't one. The only thing to do is ignore it IC and move on.

Respawn is there only because it is a game and you wouldn't want to incommodate players with permadeaths all the time. It's a game mechanic that is here so you don't lose every time your character dies. IC, there's not really any explanation. You make up your own, as long as it is realistic.

Would it be okay to say you managed to escape and didn't actually die? Like, you made a hasty retreat and in your rush to get to safety you dropped some of your gold along the way.

Doesn't explain the xp loss, though.

To be honest, though: according to the DMs (last I heard) death is death. If you have to get raised or click respawn, you were dead. The only times that's supposed to be treated different is if you were server-crash-killed (ie why you can be raised in the entry of the server you died on) or if a DM says different (like in an event).

But then the 'knocked out' scenario doesn't hold water either and we're back at square one.

XP loss could be explained by a temporary loss of confidence due to failure.

Yep, which is why when you die, you are dead according to the DMs ;p None of that silly 'I'm not dead yet!' business.

If you want to explain how you respawned from the middle of a dungeon, could say that some random NPC adventurer found you and brought you to X temple. After all, technically if you respawn back to your home location you wake up without a clue how you got there.

It's all only as complicated as you make it!

In order to change one feat is that a rebuild back to the level that the specific feat was taken or is there a way to edit it providing of course that the rp of it is done? If its not the rebuild route what is the DC Cost of this?

How does the Job Goldsmith work? Are you supposed to us the Gem Cutter bench? And are you supposed to use raw materials or Ingots and created Stones? I have tried every combination i can think of it but nothing seems to work.

Goldsmith uses metal ingots at a thing called "Jeweler's Workbench," which is a different thing than a "Gem Cutter's Workbench." You're at the wrong kind of table, it sounds like.

This is more a question for the DM's, but I didn't know where else to put it, so here it is.

Does anyone know about NWN graphics mods that increases render distance? and if so, is this cheating or is it allowed?

I think you can change it manually in the nwn.ini file, under video opions.

Out of curiosity, do you have to be a tiefling if you want to claim you have even a tiny amount of planar blood?

Planar blood can remain dormant, so yes it's entirely feasable. Of course, being anything more than the distant relatives most Plane-touched are, it makes no sense not to see any manifestation that close to the ancestor.

So basically you can have something like a succubus ancestry without any (meta)physical manifestations (and therefor no mechanical bonuses), and avoid taking tiefling?

Exactly. This is where the power of many non-subrace sorcerers comes from, among other things. The blood has to manifest pretty damn strongly in order to make you a tiefling.

Ignore them. People shouldn't be telling you how to play your character and if they are, then tell a DM. Your character is your character. As Silvarius says, speak to one of us about it and we'll help you.

Yeah, the worst anyone should ever do is a friendly tip like 'hey, generally X wouldn't do Y, in case you didn't know'. But pretty much leave it at that. Hounding you and shit, that would just set me right off >_>

It's been going on for weeks now. A while back someone said that Gael was too much of a "Sun Elven b****" and I should tone it down, and everything went downhill from there.

Though in some cases healthy discussions on how to play some races can be very fruitful. More unusual the character, the more there is to gain from picking the minds of lore monkeys. A few of those with various people helped me to play Gagis is a not-completely-horrible way.

He is a full-blooded celestial after all, that started as the most blatant Mary Sue my teenage mind had ever managed to produce. You need a lot of heavy heavy smiting with the hammer of lore to turn that into a passable character later.

Emphasis on the words healthy and discussion though. Harassment is neither.

EDIT: For the record, I absolutely love stereotypical Sun Elfy Sun Elves.

If people are stating these things ooc to you, they shouldn't be. IC relations are that, however. But, if you feel people are harassing you OOCly then do speak to one of us on the team. It may be that they don't mean it spitefully, as some people do tease each other in a friendly manner like this. Just ask them to stop, and if they don't, ask for a DM to mediate or speak with them.

I don't understand. If anything kudos for playing a Sun Elf to that extreme.

I've received hate for IC actions before, it's best to ignore the comments and if it turns to harassment, you should know any DM would be more than happy to help you.

Keep fighting the good fight, I love racist, stuck up, egotistic Sun Elves, especially when I'm the one they're directing it at!

Gael isn't as racist as she used to be; she learned her lesson concerning her racism, so she is tolerant of the other races. She even has a close human friend now.

It's hard for me to talk about it because much of the IC seems to have been based on the OOC stuff, and the IC stuff would probably be considered fair game because it's IC (so things get hidden behind ICness).

It is also important to make sure things you say or do IC are not backed by OOC sentiment. There are times when characters will behave... shall we say strangely, for obvious OOC reasons. It shouldn't come to that. That said, Sun Elves are the most xenophobic elves, so it makes sense for one of them to pass undue judgement across an entire subrace (even/especially other Elves.)

The someone has a lore problem with your character they can really take it up with a DM if it's more than just a heads up.

A similar question: When I try to enter windowed mode, it minimizes it to the tool bar instead of shrinking to a window. Does anybody know why that might happen?
