Across the Amian region and the surrounding environs, the Mystran clergy would seem to grow agitated one morning, seemingly without reason. As they arrive at the Mythal Forges or their other appointed duties, they ominously recount to travelers a vision that they had while they slept the night past. Wherever a traveler might go in this region, the story would be the same from any of the Mystran faith.
*-*-*-*-*
I awoke to find myself on a shadowy, snow-covered field, a single structure before me. If I didn’t know that I’d gone to bed at home that night, I would have sworn it was real… or perhaps it was. *shrugs* The Lady works in mysterious ways, after all.
The building was some sort of lighthouse, though it was difficult to make out clearly, a thick, unnatural fog all around it. As I looked up to the starry sky, I realized that only seven stars shone in the sky that night, and I knew that it was a message.
Looking back to the lighthouse, I saw a shape emerge from a dark tunnel, resplendent in gold and purple armour the likes I’ve not seen worn by a mortal man. As it drew closer I realized that it was not a man, but made of metal, timepieces scattered throughout its form.
As the figure drew nearer, I could see that its head was made to resemble an hourglass, with the sands flowing up instead of down as they should. It beckoned me towards the lighthouse but as I stepped forward, it stopped me with an outstretched arm. Though it did not speak, I knew that it was cautioning me, for the sands of the hourglass had stopped entirely.
I woke then, knowing that whatever that lighthouse holds, it is a clear threat, a taint that the Lady would see removed, but not something to be trifled with. If you choose to heed the Lady’s call, traveler, do not go alone. Gird yourself with the very strongest of steel and spell and keep your wits about you. What’s in there I do not know, but I do know that it will test you beyond anything you’ve faced before…

//If you have a character that is a devout follower of Mystra (has “Mystra” in their deity field) then they would also receive this vision themselves last night, as opposed to just hearing about it from one of the NPC clergy.

In a room of Mayfield's Inn, a young man trained in spell and sword awoke with a start. Though no feeling as one awoken from a nightmare, he was apprehensive all the same. After several moment of contemplation, he would then get up and quickly transcribe what he had seen in the vision.
After waking and breakfasting he made his way to Derem's shop to check on his wares, as usual, and took a turn to the forge as well. It was there that he realized something more was amiss, for the forge-mistress held the same message from the night before.
Thanking her for her time after some brief collaboration to ensure they saw the same thing, Lucious made his way out to find some couriers. Sealed and enchanted letters were then sent to the instructors of the Academy, containing the transcription of his vision and the following message:
Fellows,
I do not know what this means but it would seem that my vision was not isolated. The woman running the mythal forge today spoke of the same vision. The exact same vision. Something is amiss in our Lady's lands. Have any of you had the same vision?
-Lucious
Nothing is left at the Academy, merely the letters intended for their eyes only.
// Sent to Corinn, Cilessa, Ulrik, Tuomas, and Ranallas

It had been originally dismissed as a nightmare by Ulrik. Remembrance of things past. Or things that should be in the past. He knew the place shown in the dream - or was it a vision? these things were hard to say at times - and the being that had stood before him. It was the Quarut. They were as vivid as personal memory. In a way, they were.
The stars of Mystra, shone brightly in the sky void of other lights, took him to another time; another place, and remembrance of something else entirely. How could he be certain? Yet upon waking, his wife had seen the same vision, a matter of Mystery spoken of curiously over breakfast. Even then nothing overly troubling was thought, and the magician went about his business and morning meetings. It was mentioned to colleagues, and while a patrol was discussed, it was in calm concern rather than alarm.
Yet hearing the account - the exact same vision - from others of the Mystran faith confirmed what lingered in the back of the magician's mind. It was past. But Ulrik knew better the nature of time. It was never simple, and oft defied mortal ken. Receiving Lucious' letter, a note is returned to the spellsword later in the same day.
~ Lucious,
I had the same dream. It seems as if all servants of our Lady were given the same vision in their sleep. Furthermore, I understand completely what was shown, and believe I can venture an explanation of the peril foreseen and the concern of our goddess.
Needless to say, we have a few matters to discuss. We have a task before us. One done already, and yet still, one yet to be completed.
Stars guide you, `Ulrik
~
Further correspondence seems to be issued throughout the day from Kohlingen Keep and the office of the Magister.

*A messenger speaks to Beldor in the midst of his manor. A warm flame sparking in the hearth behind them, they converse for a few moments, the courier nodding emphatically to the Eldrith Knight's questions. After a while, he would pick up his satchel with a bid goodbye, leaving Beldor in quiet, ponderous solitude.*
"I could call him a dreamer... but it is quite obvious that he is not the only individual."
*After a few moments, he shrugs. He calls his scabbard and armor over to him and brushes his paperwork aside.
Not too long after, a man-sized gate momentarily appears in the Kholingen outskirts.*
