The city of Kohlingen seems diminished in the immediate days following Justicar Marinsbane’s passing. The streets are less busy, the harpers have gone silent. All flags fly at half-staff and the ships’ yardarms are cockbilled in symbolic mourning. Families and soldiers alike go on about their regular chores, somewhat lessened in heart and spirit. As the citizens of the city continue their routines, an undeniable air of uncertainty has settled upon them.
The only significant activity is around the Temple of the Triad. Couriers seem to come and go throughout the daylight hours and merchants of differing wares come to visit the priesthood for the ensuing preparations.

The familiar copper kin named Zelly appears to spend most of her time in the holy city these days. She may be seen surveying different buildings, assisting with delivery or shipment of various crates from her warehouse, or mingling with the common folk as they go about their business. At times she can be seen taking the shape of a great copper dragon atop the Shrine of Bahamut, where she offers prayer to the Lord of the North Wind.
She seems to try to keep a stark contrast to the uncertainty around her. Her expression is often friendly and polite, if still visibly saddened, and she speaks very much about future plans - including her ideas about expanding her company location and opening job possibilities to the people of Kohlingen.
A short, polite letter is left at the Keep with a request that it be delivered to Lady Justicar Cystana when she is able to receive correspondence.

A young man, some would know his as the spellsword Lucious, would watch the goings-on of the Holy City with a somber air. He had not been on the isle long, and so he did not know many of the people, or the Justicar, very long yet still Marinsbane’s death affected him. His keen gaze swept around for his usual spot by the fountain, noting the limited activity throughout the days.

Since the passing of the Justicar, Father Deline has been working nearly around the clock, to the point of skipping his own sleep and meals for helping the grieving, with consultation and those having trouble dealing with the death and unable to sleep with almost countless vials now of sleeping tea. To many questioning and troubled citizens, he has been spreading the word of Ilmater, and reciting how the Justicar was blessed in his final moments by Torm himself, that the gods themselves are watching out for us but we have the free will to choose the right path as the Justicar did, aiding those weaker than ourselves.
On more than one occasion now Deline has fallen from exhaustion while working, leading to whenever he is sitting at the center fountain he typically has his eyes closed and catching a couple minutes of sleep. As is his nature, whenever he is asked how he is doing or if he is alright, he stays true to his response of "Still smiling".

In the days following the Justicar's passing, Ulrik would be seen in a flurry of activity. A litany of meetings with various individuals seems to dominate his days. His classes and lessons at the Seven Stars have been mostly cancelled. The greying magician seems to either be heading to a meeting, or coming from one: be it in his office in the city, the keep, or Copper Industries storehouse.
In the wake of the loss of the Justicar, and the pending succession of Lady Cystana, Kohlingen's Magister seems to have assumed a greater number of responsibilities in the interim. And for those who know the man, it can be certain that beyond the number of meetings and matters of state that now preoccupy his time, something weighs heavily on him.

As the sun rises over the Holy City, there are a myriad of activities already in full swing. The smell of freshly baked bread permeates the southwestern market as the stall owners lay out their wares. The feeling of uncertainty that hung over the town following the Justicar’s death seems to have lessened slightly as time begins the healing process.
Elsewhere in the city, clergy of the Triad’s temple can be seen about the grounds instructing acolytes and city workers alike. “I want the procession to come this way, over the bridge after our guests have entered the temple…” It seems preparations for the upcoming celebration of Saul Marinsbane’s life are in full swing.
From the Keep, a dozen couriers, laden with satchels meet up at the fountain and discuss their routes. “Jerryl, you take Bendir’s Dale and the Grove. Ally, please go to…” The lead courier gives the group their instructions, after which they part ways; most of whom head to the docks for awaiting ships. News regarding the details of the funeral is spread throughout the isle of Amia and beyond.Quote: * Funeral Service of
Saul Marinsbane Lord Justicar of Kohlingen Paladin of Torm
Eleint, Twenty-Third Thirteen Hundred and Eighty One
Temple of the Triad Kohlingen * //Starting Sunday the 23rd at ~8pm EST.

Citizens of Kohlingen will not soon forget the day of remembrance for the late Saul Marinsbane. For some, this day will be forever scored into their mind's eye as they bore witness to the spirit of an ancient dragon fading from this world into the next, a small ornate chest clutched within one claw. The words still echo from this recent memory,"It is time to leave the guidance of a new city to the youthful and the living. I have overstayed my time, and I go to join my old friend now, as he departs this plane."

Following the departure of Imperator, the copper kin known as Zelly becomes somewhat detached in everyday conversation with the common people and adventurers that frequent Kohlingen. Perpetual sadness rests in her eyes and those that know her well may see clearly that she is grieving the loss of both of Kohlingen's beloved guardians, and that it is very difficult for her to hold her emotions together so that she may continue to do her job.

The City Hall in Kohlingen seemed to be, in comparison to previous days, consumed by a flurry of activity. Rumor has it the Justicar Elect has called for the council to perform an audit of all records held by the City. As a result, the bureaucrats could be seen scrambling to get their documents in order.
“I don’t know Thomas, just get back to the cabinets and finish filing these loose papers.” The head clerk surveyed the copious amounts of neglected documents stacked about the office with a thin lipped frown. She called another clerk to her side and made a gesture towards the dust and cob webs that had grown into noticeable layers at the front desk. “Find a broom and get these cleaned up quickly! These counters had better shine when I come back. Lord Parmunster and Lady Evington will be here tomorrow for an inspection and if we all want to keep our jobs, we’d best be ready!”
While filing, ‘Thomas’ looked aside to one of his colleagues and said in a hushed voice,”Where do you think the Justicar Elect will speak from after the ceremony?” The thin woman he spoke to held a stack of papers to her chest and shrugged, “I don’t know, but that’ll tell us thing or two, ya?”

As Zelly passes through the City Hall following the end of her work for the day, she pauses and looks at the clerks curiously as they scramble about. It appears to be a panic that she recognizes, however, and she smiles as she steps forward to offer her assistance, should they need it.

As the clerks continue their work, the inspection come and gone, and one grasps a notice from the inbox and goes pale. "Please announce that the swearing of the Justicar Elect is to be held on the third of Marpenoth at midday." The clerk scrambles to copy the note and shoves them into several couriers' hands.

“Cursed!”
“What?”
“You heard me we’re cursed!” The man next to the oven was the proprietor of this shop and as he handed over to his customer a small box of bread loafs, he pointed his finger and squinted his eye to drive the point home. “You mark my words; there’ll be pandemonium in the streets a’fore long.”
“Medrin, you’re imagining things. We are not cursed.” The patron was in too fine of clothing, and whose hands were too soft to be anyone in the city who participated in manual labor. “Such superstition is what gets communities riled up into self-fulfilling prophecies. You start thinking you’re cursed and bad things will happen.”
“Open your frilly eyes man. We’ve lost Justicar Marinsbane, Torm watch his soul, The Imperator, Bahamut watch over his, and now Lord Sylgerand, may Tyr watch over his. If that ain’t a curse, I don’t know what is.” The comment about frilly eyes earned the baker a disapproving frown.
“You’re forgetting one thing…”
“Oh? What’s that?”
“We, who remain, still draw breath. So take heart in the fact that the lords’ light is upon us and it is not yet our time. As the saying goes, from the ashes rise the phoenix; and so shall the Holy City of Kohlingen. Good day sir.”

"One by one lights fade. With the passing of each, we are diminished. With the passing of each, darkness grows. With the passing of each, old lights waver in doubt.
Yet in the void of darkness therein lies Hope.
A small light, once overshadowed by one brighter. The small light can now be seen. The small light can now be nurtured and grow And then join the old.
New lights and old lights shine amid the dark, like stars in the night sky.
Always remember, my precious little one It is in the deepest darkness of night that stars shine the brightest. It is the void of darkness and despair that the stars banish. And it is stars that guide us when we are lost."

Tuomas seemed to begin to set himself about a number of varying smaller projects, continuing his research upon Mythals being one amongst them, as well as preparing a lecture.
He would then head to the keep to leave a number of smaller missives to various individuals.

After spending some time about town and in the tavern, Nhalis tries to speak with as many common folk as possible encouraging them to tell him happier tales about the Justicar and Lord Sylgerand. He offers drinks to those who'll take them while they talk as he carries a small supply of cheaper alcohol upon him at most times. Generally he makes his way about town trying to cheer folks up and hear a bit more about these prominent figures the city is speaking about.
Otherwise he just tries to engage in pleasant conversation hoping to help lift the obvious depression that has settled over the city.

The prestigious nobleman and knight who has aided and stood by the side of Kohlingen throughout all his time in the region seems well on the way of recovery. His gentile and dignified manner remains, and even though it is known lord Yaston was one of his closest and dearest friends, it does not appear to have caused him to lose faith or hope. On the contrary, it almost appears he has gained more of it. After having recovered the body of the beloved paladin of Tyr and having stood vigil in the Temple of the Triad's light, he returned to continue his work.
The worries and fears of the commons are not addressed by him through words of comfort or hope. He never tended contact to them, nor has he begun to do so in these times. He still seems to not care the least of pretending to be one of them, while as always remaining polite and approchable if they do need him. Yet the man who has banished demons from the keep, played a significant role with the cleansing of the hillside manor, and who has fought beside the Triadic Knights and Kohlingen on countless other occasions, now has finally returned from his sick bed to lend his presence and support in dealing with what ever threat the City of Kohlingen may face.
