The Ballad of the Black Bard by Anonymous There once was a bard with a lust to indulge; his trousers could scarcely handle the bulge To the west side of Cordor he took his boots and his hat; and to one of the 'walkers he did have a chat He said I am the famed bard called Fettian; can I have a discount for getting in The lass did refuse, for his name did mean nought; A hat and some boots mean no cheaply being bought So he went down the street to the next working girl; and asked if she'd take his hat for a twirl She took him to mean those words literally, but poor Glendil had wanted to kiss her....on the cheek So rebuffed, he went to the Gentleman's Club, to find a lass to stop him from being so randy; but they had a sale day, for Rosary's candy As the sugar meddled with his bardly head, he tried to find a girl to take to bed In his haze he wandered to fields past the walls, and heard the shepherds with their collies and calls It's unclear what happened to our drunken fool; but he woke up in Wharftown in the arms of some wool She was black of face, but white of fleece; and we all know the human-sheep hybrid that Glendil calls 'niece
