I. The Split

A raw diamond is asymmetric, unbalanced and in it’s size and form completely random. You may cut the diamond, and corrupt it to something that is more appealing to yourself, however, its worth and mass will always remain the same.

Before the first walls were built, the first innocent blood was shed and the first seeds sprouted from newly fertiled soil, even before the gods themselves appeared and forged this realm and built their own kingdoms in separate realms, Chaos, raw and dynamic, reigned everything.

Then the gods came and bended this infinite power to their own will, trying to bring order and predictability into infinite, godless and turmoiled spheres, all united and codependent under one singular and pristine paradigm which is nothing more and nothing less than the very workings of chaos itself. But the gods split these spheres that held a dynmaic balance, separated, mended, displaced and forced the matter as they pleased and with it created us and everything around us. The diamond was no longer natural, but grinded, violated into a shape designed by divine will, flawless, as some would say. However, what they had cut and taken away from the diamond was not destroyed forever. In fact, it would rise and seek to emerge with it’s counterpart once more and restore the balance of Chaos as it was not corrupted into aberrations by divine touch.

And that was the day the gods had forced the demons into being. Crusaders to restore the Chaos that once prevailed not purposely, but simply because it is their nature to restore the unity of chaos, true and uncorrupted.

Thusly, demons came about to balance the creative forces of the gods and even the evil ones. As a force of primal destruction, demons are part of a great cosmic cycle, just like earthquakes, storms and other disasters are part of the Material Plane's natural cycle.

Ever since the dawn of day within the darkness of chaos, the creations of the divine powers had to struggle with their nature, which was naturally chaotic, and their “morals”, artificial and unnatural dogmas, which the gods had burdened them with. Thusly everything, may it be plant, tree, animal or human, is a spawn of Chaos and thrall of the Divine. Everything is forged from chaos by divine hands.

Yes indeed, just as necromancers the divine had forced us, animated us into unnatural and paradox life to control us, terrorize us, abuse us like tools. But since we all originated from chaos, it is our nature to struggle with our divine shackles and emerge with nature once more. An urge that the gods know too well, a desire that they wish to smother by poisoning the mind of their specifically intelligent creations, which may have the intellect to look beyond their artificial, god-made world, with self-doubt and ardent fear.

But, even though we were desecrated by divine touch and find ourselves under the ever wary glance of the divine hordes as one of their creations, there is still hope.
