How to apply for an adventurer grant
========================================

Any resident can apply for a grant, adventuring items, advice and schooling by locating Johanna Hardingdale or The Harlequins of Brandobaris.

To receive a grant or adventuring gear (or both), the resident must have character references from at least two fellow residents of Bendir Dale.

May your path lead you to excitement.

Law I: Any one who assaults or murders another person within Bendir Dale's jurisdiction will be paid in kind. This includes any manner of hostile spell casting included but not limited to: Darkness, Fireball, Iron Horn, etc. Any one who commits armed robbery will also be punished.

Law II: Derogatory statements aimed at residents by visitors will not be tolerated. Derogatory statements aimed at visitors by residents will not be tolerated.

Law III: Those who steal must pay a fine equal in value to the stolen article as well as a donation equal to 50% of the value to Brandobaris.

Law IV: Undead, fiends, beholders, mind flayers and other beasts of unquestionable evil may not be summoned into Bendir Dale, nor may they walk here. The offender will be asked once to remove themselves/their illegal summon. If they fail to do so, they will be slain.

Law V: Drow must be accompanied by a select few people in order to legally enter. Exceptions to this rule are kept on a list, available to all members of the Bendir Militia.

Law VI: Guests must disarm upon entering. Weapons may only be bared by militia, except in special cases. These cases include overwhelmings odds of offenders versus outnumbered militia. Non-residents who refuse to disarm will be forcefully disarmed.

Law VII: All face covering items are to be removed upon entering the dale, including hoods. This law applies to citizens and visitors alike. The only exception to this law is a member of the Bendir Militia.

Law VIII: Animal companions and familiars are allowed, but only if they are not fiends, undead or any other evil creature. Killing a companion not banned by the law counts as assault against the owner.

Law IX: Shifting is allowed within reason and must be done in front of militia for mutual safety. Turning into a creature not allowed normally will be punished.

Law X: Hin, Dwarves, Gnomes and Fey may live peacefully in Bendir Dale. Bendir Dale's jurisdiction extends to the border of the Amia Forest, to the foothills of the Skull Crags, to the Mylock Hills and to the top of the hill along the south road.

Law XI: People are not to linger or loiter outside the walls for long periods of time. This includes conversing, conducting business, etc. You are welcome to do so inside the walls or off of Bendir Dale Jurisdiction.

Above all use common sense and respect Bendir Dale's authority and residents.

I spent 30 minutes searching for a real pic of Ukre but couldn't find any hin who had a rustic look but was still really fit and nimble. All the nimble-looking hin pics are urban rogue-like (not like a monk really) and all the rustic hin pics look like fat hobbits.

Okay, so I sucked it up and started looking for pics for my characters...and realized that I really want to draw my own. -.- But until I have time for that...these are what I found from the internet.


I can't find anything that has Swift's shadow dancing and magic so I have two separate pics. Both have a bit more skin showing than she normally does, but the first shows her on guard in the Dale, fading into the shadows (even has a bow!) and the second is Swift being playful...with magic. <_<



I can't find a single picture online that includes both a spider and a girl...not even of drow. So this'll have to do for Blade, obviously, though, instead of red, it would be green.

This doesn't meet the requirements (Due to the fact I haven't drawn below the top of his torso) but I gave a quick shot at drawing Ukre. I might be way off, so give me feedback and I can spend more time to really develop the look for you. Forgive the shoddiness, as my arm is not as dexterous as it was. I wish I was left handed.

And also, forgive the crappy photo. My scanner doesn't seem to work with Windows 7 (or at least I haven't figured out where to get a driver that will work).

I think I need to elongate the back of the head a little for starters, as halflings tend to have such heads. Also, I couldn't remember what head model Ukre has in game, so I did what felt right, the pony-tailed head. Forgive me if I'm way off.

If anyone else wants an original halfling drawing, I'm up for the project. While my arm is getting better it is definitely a relaxing meditative diversion for me.

And I totally spelt his name wrong!!! ARGH!

Sorry Seph, I haven't been around much or been checking the forums. Really cool you spent time to attempt a pic of Ukre, even if you got his name wrong .

Feedback wise if you're still interested: he looks kinda youngish in that pic to me, like teenager youngish and not human mid-to-late twenties youngish and I always imagined him having spotches of freckles from being in the sun constantly. I was going to attempt to draw him myself too but I don't think I'm good enough to pull off a face that has both a sort of rustic humbleness and humor on the one hand and monastic-ascetic severity and discipline on the other. He shouldn't be too attractive though (8 Cha), I imagine his face sort of has a dirty-kid look, like one who is always playing outside and roughhousing about. His hair is a sort of ruddy brown with naturally pale skin that's become tanned by the sun and light blue eyes, that should probably be quite intense, if not alien, in some way despite the rest of his plain-looking appearance due to his current status as an "outsider" (rulewise) and to give a hint as to the inner strength of will behind the outer country bumpkin look. Like I said, very hard to do a portrait of and not something I think I'm talented enough to put on the page but it'd be great if you or anyone else wanted to take a crack at it. I'll definitely stick it in my avatar and/or sig if you do!


Anyway, writing all that up reminded me I should really finally get on giving him a proper in-game bio, heh.
