(( Damn forum is seriously bugged or something. I used to get emails telling me when something's posted in Bendir Dale forum. It's still marked as 'subscribed' but seems a load of bollocks to me. That aside, I had been looking in but nobody has explicitly told me anything what is expected of Johanna. All I've read is that some issues are 'handed to' or 'waiting on' Johanna, so as a player I'm a little out of touch. I'm not blaming anyone other than myself, due to my absence, and yes, I agree with you all. Saying that, though, there seems to be a massive direction of pinning an individual (myself) down when really there's a whole team of us. GothicSauce has been in communication with me mostly, keeping me in the know to some extent, though admittedly with little from my part. On an IC note to this incident: From the very beginning when Johanna even tried for mayor and when I was playing daily for 16+ hours per day she's had a very very hands-off approach to matters she sees trivial. This is a bad side of her, yes, and makes her a bad choice for a mayor, but everyone knows this and voted her in. It's also one of her charms. Because she shows various things in another light (much as a trickster archetype should). Her lack of involvement on this very matter is as much as she would if I were in game or not, because to her she's meant to be keeping out of military matters. "Law" has never been her concern. NEVER! (Double underlined in red) and all of you that know her would know that too. I logged in today to have fun and catch up on how everyone's doing, and to get all this sorted (maybe finally) because unfortunately at many scheduled meetings almost all of us involved in dealing with this matter (not just me) have been away or busy on a day they thought they wouldn't or something came up. Bendir Dale is pretty much a player run town, but not by an individual. It's a group effort. Of course, a lot of the pressure is on me because I play the mayor and unfortunate bad timing on my part due to my RL situation, but instead of just queuing up the next quote and OOC rant about the situation, maybe doing something IC would fit. If the mayor's not around,m she's not around. This is not unusual for Johanna. And yes, I too have just ranted OOC, I'm aware.  If your character doesn't like how things are going? Do what Johanna did and get loud, passionate and vocal! If it's just OOC annoyance due to everyone passing the buck and trying to pin their IC problems on to someone else, then this has to stop. I have to say that I am embrassed to be a resident of the Dale with how things have gone with this whole trial. I may die of old age before anything gets resolved. I'd hate to see what would happen if someone attacked the Dale. With this kind of response time, all would be lost.

Ruby would frown faintly and glance to the pixie and elf with her, concerned, but then would shake her head with a sigh and continue on to the Cordor carts, though their conversation would touch on what "issues" were being questioned and whether that kind of public notice was really useful, even if there was some kind of problem.

My friends, I feel I must address you here again. I sincerely hope I am not the only person who sees the pattern of Bendir politics.
The high of new leadership or change swiftly gives way to the angry crash of disapproval, muttered 'round the square. It is this I question.
Is it truly the nature of Bendir now, then, to rally the troops and topple the government when something goes awry? Need I remind you, my friends, that Bendir has survived many a year in worse political standings than now? Need I remind you that until this matter, there have been no matters with which the council has been directly involved since the current mayor's election?
I should certainly hope not, and I should certainly hope that certain individuals should maintain a sense of gratitude for the council's time and effort to consider this case, when in days not so long passed there would be no trial save for a sword through the heart and an immediate banning.
On that note, I would also encourage the author of this petition to consider his position and honor his finely suited namesake by keeping himself out of the limelight. Those who cause issues have considerably less a voice in speaking against those resolving them.

An armored hin surveys the Bendir notice boards, his winged helmet swinging back and forth as he reads. A snort can be heard as he heads to the meeting hall to borrow Cindle's ink and quill. He returns a short time later and nails his responce to the board with a small dagger bearing his makers mark.
Who's this 'New' fella? Ya sure he's skilled being that I's never seen him. Does he make hot milk? cause this here inn makes the best this side of Boltan's bay. Not gonna make no petition on a lout who never shows his nose. The only time honest folk hide they's names is when they does somethin wrong. Got some hidey agenda, then?

I'm willing to bet if I killed someone, this matter would have already been resolved weeks ago. I guess I'm just not important enough to be worthy of the attention of the Mayor and Council to come to any kind of conclusion to this matter. I guess it's not a big enough deal when a hin is killed inside the gates of the Dale. At the very least the laws should be amended to reflect to apparent changes to the laws. While we're at it, why don't we just erase the banned list and live even more dangerously.

Chia, late in the day, came to give an official report of happenings to an official of Bendir Dale.
A detailed description of Nadridor Atrune is given to the guard as having assualted a half drow right outside the town walls and killed her with a finger of death spell. The half drow was pregnant with child, and although the woman was able to be brought back, her child is dead. Chia Sannel left her name as the one who did the raising, check to see if the child was alright, and declared the child dead after a few divination spells. She also witnessed the fight. If she is needed to answer any questions she can be reached at the Nomad's Return in Cordor.

The attack took place on the road right next to the orchard. The people involved were the described man, the half drow named Rad, and Elijah, possibly the father of sad child who struck down the attacker not a moment after he cast the finger of death spell. i was crossing the bridge just in time to see the incident happen and perform resurection rituals on rad... the attacker seemed to have crawled away while i was performing the ressurection on the ex mother.

"The attack occurred by the Orchard. Both parties involved had been seen by me minutes prior to the battle. The offending party was spelled up as he headed past Chia and I into the forest, and then again back towards Bendir. I was crossing the bridge with Shia, as both of us were expecting trouble. We heard the death spell being cast, and we hastened our steps to find that Elijah was engaged with the offending party, and had struck him down as we entered the vicinity. A half drow lay, deceased. Shia attempted resurrection, and was successful with the mother, but the child, unfortunately, had perished."

Brandy Bramblefoot was testing out new jokes on The Book of Brandobaris before a non-serious but at the same time serious issue arose. Who is harlie (or hardly) home these days in our little hangout?
I traveled so far and for so long and now the last time I visited briefly I was told I was half a leader now! I took the fastest boat to Brog when I thought of any sense of organization.. But now that I'm back from some adventures... it's time to start some here in the ol' Dale! It seems to me like Brandobaris wants me here if anywhere for *my* story.
But what about the rest of the guys & gals? Alright it's time to gather which Harlequins are still around and not on far-away adventures. Thats right....
IT'S TIME FOR A HARLEQUIN HAUNT!Brandy then begins whispering around the shire of Bendir Dale of a gathering of pranksters who are remaining in the lands near. A non-serious meeting will be held for a not-so-serious group! ((time... perhaps Friday - 8:00 EST timezone? and at any rate please post your harlequin character's name here because I am pretty sure I don't know remember half the members (maybe i'm more of a Harlequin in RL then I thought). thanks!

"Oh, well.. he was an elf. He was wearing a strange outfit that seemed to suck in all the light, blacker than night.. and he had a steel staff topped with a red orb. I'm not sure I remember anything more, though he did summon a strange demonic warrior that I couldn't identify right away. Clearly demonic though."

As her term of office is at it's end, we must open the Nomination Process.
Rules and Regulations:
~A valid candidate for Mayor must be a resident of the Dale and remain a resident during their term of office.
~A valid candidate must be nominated and receive a second to that nomination.
~A valid candidate must write and post a public statement describing their desire to accept the nomination, as well as their thoughts and beliefs on the position of Mayor. They must also designate whom they would appoint to the position of Captain of the Guard and Deputy Mayor.
~A valid candidate must attend two public debates before the election.
~A valid candidate must submit to questioning by Jayek in regards to their spiritual state. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~//The term of office is 6 months. The Deputy Mayor has authority only when the Mayor takes a limited leave of absence.
Nominations and Candidate Statements due by Saturday April 2nd @ 5am PST / 2pm GMT
The Public Debates will be on Saturday April 2 @ 11am PST / 6pm GMT and then Wednesday,April 6th @ 4:30pm PST / 11:30pm GMT
Elections will be held from Saturday April 9th through Sunday April 10th.
The Bendir Dale NPC's will cast a vote equal to 3/4 of the PC votes cast. Their vote to be determined by the DM team.
