But then continues to say... Which suggests they do not believe or want others to believe their former argument at all, assuming the question is rhetorical. The speaker has thus decided to throw his or her arguments out the window. So this cancels itself. And to support this canceling, the speaker identifies the following:

I believe the speaker will wish to resubmit their poster with better definition using one or the same identifying feature of Cordor or the Treaty of Light rather than compare two statistics that are incomparable in nature.
