Sweet treats and flowers adorn the feet of the statue of the Bitch Queen. Gold and silver coins scatter like shells before it. A rolled up piece of vellum cut in skewed, coiling angle is tucked into the likeness of the hands or arms, wherever it could not be easily blown away by a sea breeze. A single cord of kelp winds it closed, the thick, fleshy leaves trailing like small flags.

      On the vellum, the following wrote:

          Queen of the Depths
            I ask that a servant of yours
              A rider of your divine wave
                to herald the turning of the tide
                  that ushers in your glory
                    be revealed to me and find me
                      that together we make your supremacy
                        of the ocean known to all who dare sail or settle near it

                          As the tide tide now recedes
                            I beg it to carry my message
                              I will seek for them
                                at the return of the high waters
