Greetings!

It is with great joy I am pleased to announce a celebration in honor of the return of a person I thought lost to me and the realization of our long-unspoken love for each other, my heart, the Lady Alvor Arnardottir.

To honor her, I am pleased to announce a competition for patronage in my favorite of arts, painting! All painters of the land, amateur or professional, are welcome to participate for the Grand Prize 1,000,000 shiny gold pieces and all the prestige and fame that comes with acknowledgement of your accomplishments.

The rules are as follows: From this date of declaration, all participating have 1 fortnight to submit 1 painted, titled, and signed masterpiece to me, Don Slade t'Colton of Wharftown. You are free to submit another painting if you are not satisfied with your previous entry before the deadline, but this will forfeit your previous entry in the running. All submissions become property of myself and will be judged by how well my lady love fancies them. The Grand Prize winner will receive 1,000,000 gold pieces. Second prize will receive 250,000 gold pieces. And third prize a very fine 100,000 pieces. Any subject is permitted, save portraits of myself or my lady as we will not be swayed by petty vanity. Submissions deemed to be too unpleasing for whatever reason may be rejected from contest and display on grounds of taste, the submitter will be notified of such and if time permits may resubmit an entry. Race and other trivial details of the submitter matter not other than their standing in the community, known criminals and outlaws need not apply.

The winners will be honored and declared at a dinner party to be announced where all entries will be on display at my Wharftown estate. Questions welcome here. Good luck!

//OOC rules: The deadline to receive your painting submission is real time March 4th, 11:59 pm. Only 1 submission per painter will be accepted. You may replace your submission with a new submission at any time before the deadline. You will be expected to prove you are a painter on submission to prevent fraud (so no one paints several paintings and submits them all via proxies). Submissions must be real items, the finished result of the painter's job and are encouraged to be enhanced via changing title/description using a Scribe's Desk (found in Cordor's City Hall/Palace/Commonwealth Center at Cordor: East if you need one). All submissions will become my property upon submission, so if you like your own painting make a copy for yourself. Winners will be judged solely at the judgement of the judge, regardless of how awesome you think your subject or descriptions are. Winners will be announced at a party event on this thread. Winners need not be present at the event to claim their prizes.
