Post subject:  [Wiltun] A Public Decree and Mandate

A large vellum parchment, enchanted and protected from the elements is posted to each entrance to the Fortress of Wiltun. Each poster is stamped with a red waxen seal and bears the symbol of a Wiltun raven. A seal recognizable as that of Wiltun's Knight, Sir Avadon.

Take Heed,

By the decree of His Royal and Sovereign Grace, Lord Arsant Wiltun the Fifth, Jarl of Wiltun and all of Caraigh, the portal to the realm of Khem is to be closed. Permanently.

You have but one villainous person to thank for this decree. A person we assume to be of Drow blood, who made an attempt to disrespect the authority and laws of the Jarl within His own keep. This is a warning to all of you adventurers and outsiders who frequent the Keep. His Grace has always seen fit to allow leniency and grace while you walk His lands. Your freedom here is not a right, it is a gift given to you by Him. No races have ever been banned from His Grace's land, but try His patience again and you WILL lose the gift of finding neutral ground in our home. Your actions will be the final straw and the consequences will arise by your own doing.

The culprit responsible for these crimes is now a wanted man, no longer free to wander the lands of Wiltun freely and any who may harbor this fugitive will be named enemies of His Grace. All Drow who enter this realm are to be detained and questioned until the identity of the attacker is made public. Any who come forward to aid in our efforts will be rewarded. These are the orders of the Jarl of Wiltun.

Let this be a reminder that if any are found to be actively concealing themselves from the sight of guards, they will be deemed an enemy of His Grace, an offense punishable by death. Take heed to keep your hoods and helmets off while on our lands, or suffer the consequences of breaking His laws.

Obey His laws, and Respect His Authority in lands that you are nothing more than a guest of.

In service through fealty and honor,

~First Knight Avadon of Wiltun

A tall drowess stops as her gaze picks up the parchment in the moonlight. Casting a sideward glance to the guard, she finishes removing her helmet, as the guards would have seen she has always done, and tucks it into the crook of her arm as she moves nearer and takes the time to read the obvious proclamation. The red orbs narrow to slits as she comes to the end, irritation spinning in her mind. With a shake of her head she turns away and strides off, reaching the cliff before donning her helmet and portalling away.

Perhaps she returns later, perhaps not.

// Thanks for the clarification! Ironically, that's all my drow planned to do anyways XD

//I'll leave that to Nivo or another DM to clarify. As far as Avadon's role in iterating these commands, it is all purely IC. So as soon as this is discussed, my ooc and any other ooc can be removed or edited out. K thanks!

// Quick question that might be replaced with an IC: Is there a DM order now that drow are not allowed unless there are Wardens or a DM present to oversee? I only ask because of the 'detain all Drow' portion, which obviously can't be RPed with neither of the above around, heh.

//Yes. For the next twenty-four RL hours. Drow at the gate can either submit to questioning by the guard/wardens, or turn away.

*A female air genasi would read the proclamation and snort after the first paragraph*

"'His Grace has always seen fit to allow leniency and grace' 'Put your hood on in this rain soak land and you'll be punished with death'. He truly believes this assinine contradiction.." *She would turn and portal rod away, not before muttering to whomever may have been travelling with her* "Shame the portal's closed. That's all that muck hole was good for anyways."

A muttering, soft-capped man clad in green silks can be seen removing this notice, muttering the whole while. The Wiltun guards no longer harass any drow, at least, no more than they would harass any adventurer.

However, there is an increased guard presence about the keep.

A certain fancy-dressed wood elf seems really annoyed how stupid this decree is, and under his breathe calls this 'Avadon' a complete moron as he departs.
