Post subject:  [Wharftown] Citizens of Wharftown!

A tall albino woman can be seen pressing a silver pin (bearing the image of wolf howling under the eyes of Selune) into the town message board, holding the following letter:

“Citizens of Wharftown,

The Amian isle has never been the safest or most stable place to make a home, but we have.
We are a self- reliant, robust people, and what we have built together is something to be envied and protected.

The isles of late have been less stable than usual. Political turmoil is rife on the main isle,
and tales of death and destruction flow out of Caraigh. Ceyren’s Mill, a town much like our own,
has fallen, her people displaced and her lands blighted. Wharftown is all too familiar with their plight;
the Banite occupation is still a sour note in the back of our throats.

Our militia has done well to protect us, but I fear that the threat is growing stronger.
The Demon Lord’s influence over Caraigh has been broken and the major cities and townships
are closed to his followers, but I have seen his faithful walking the same streets that our
children play. With the other settlements closing their gates and fortifying their walls,
I fear that those they wish to keep out will once again turn their sights on our home.

Fortunately, many of the folk who live here have done battle with these people and their ilk.
We face an extraordinary threat, and must defend against it with an extraordinary force.

I ask any interested citizens to come hear my plan to protect our home, and lend your
support or give voice to your concerns, when next Selune shows us her face in its entirety,
outside of Her temple.

Moonmaiden be your light in darkness,
Alanna of Wharftown”

After posting the letter, Alanna would have made her way to Selune's temple, asking the High Priestess to inform any citizens that visited who could not read of the impending meeting.

Reading this during a brief walk in Wharftown, Tuomas nods to himself, making a mental note to try to be there.

*written at the bottom*

Their faithful remain in Caraigh, so, this is much ado about nothing, to be honest. Only the people falsely labelled have come to Amia, and apathy does not a cultist make.

Alanna's note gets an addendum

Fellows,

though I'll be unable to attend, I wish to voice my support and will aid how I can.

Cleric of Selune

// I have work all this week, so I can't make it. I'll bring Lyle to speak with alanna personally though, sometime.

*A message is publically left with the Saladran temple for Alanna, after Calin read her own annoucement.*

I'm not sure what fairy tale world your living in. But the cultists are still the same as ever. No influence has been broken, perhaps it is just that the knights only stand when everyone is looking? They are not always there, conviently when the cultists decide to attack infact. Wharftown should be more fearful because of this fact, don't believe all that is uttered by the "defenders" of Caraigh.

Alanna picks up the message on a jaunt to the Salandran's to visit a friend, and pens a reply while she is there.

"Calin,

Thank you for your warning, but I believe my message was misunderstood. I know the cultists still stand strong in Caraigh; what I meant was that the physical influence of the Demon Lord had been broken, at least as far as the fact that his Avatar no longer dwells there. I could be wrong, however. Reports coming out of there are sparse and often confused, and I welcome the counsel. I meant it in that his followers are now, for whatever reason, ranging abroad, and that can only end badly, and I am quite fearful of that indeed.

That said, your deeds precede you. I heard much of your involvement in the downfall of the Banite church here, and have seen firsthand the good you and the War Knights did for Endir's Point when it was threatened by outside influences. I'm no stranger to battle, but teaching is something I am still getting the hang of, and training a large garrison is a different beast altogether. I would welcome your help and counsel, if you would consent to give it. Nothing is set in stone yet, but if you're interested, come by Wharftown, we will talk more.

Moonmaiden bless,
Alanna"

All replies, hostile or otherwise, remain on the board in Wharftown, untouched.

A letter posted:

The concern, at least on my part, is that the word "cultist" has so far been used for fear-mongering, and slander. The "gift" posted around by Gorthod named off a whole list of "cultists", but, many of the names seem to have been added because Gorthod and Company have personal grudges against them, a fact that has been remarked by more than one veteran of the Caraigh conflict. Very convenient.

Let us not lose our heads.

A Reply:

Dearest Alanna,

I regret that I will not be able to join your lovely personage in said Shanty. I am returning to Tethyr for a funeral.

What I have written is a genuine grievance, and a founded gripe, however, and one I'd like to be certain that you will address.

On a trip through Wharftown, Sabine's golden eyes narrow into a glinting glare when she reads the "anonymous" notes from a certain Tethyrian "Knight."

Mynna looks over Alanna's note in the kitchen, and grumbles about the upcoming guests, she contemplates the curtains for a few moments then writes a letter leaving it on one of the counters.

"Alanna,

I think I'll go camping for a day or so while this meeting takes place.
I'd be happy to help in any way of course,
but I don't think my presence at this meeting would be well taken
by the town who do not know me better.
If you would like, I can take the children with me, so to give you
time to coordinate this better. I think I will go to the Green Lake,
if that is all right. I will make sure to leash them to a tree, if necessary.
Also, please consider replacing these curtains.
They are awful,

-Mynna"

Upon reading the note, some startled townspeople might be startled at a peal of hysterical laughter. When it dies down, she pens a reply.

"Mynna,

The pups will be fine here with me, I'm sure. Thank you for the offer, though.

I'll see about the curtains.

Miss Alanna,

Barring something keeping me that is unexpected, I'll be attending this meeting if permitted.
