After the recent commotion in Kampo's Storehouse had died down and was once more open to the public, an envelope clearly addressed to the management of Kampo's was left on the bartender's end of the bar itself by a hooded figure. Inside the envelope was a note with the following written: To Kampo and/or the Storehouse Management, I recently came by the Storehouse as I regularly do and found myself to be in the aftermath of a tragic event. I had heard from a man I know quite well as a subordinate, a man by the name of Aidan Ders, that he was attacked without provocation in the house itself... attacked by knights led by Yaston of the Triad. In their blind bloodlust his group struck down Kampo himself and as I write this I hope dearly he managed to recover, if he did not then the Storehouse has my deepest condolences for their loss. I write this letter not only to give my well wishes, but also to warn you of the nature of the knights. They will wander into your Storehouse and attempt to slay whomever they believe in their minds to be wicked at heart. This was not the first time they have attempted to attack so-called evildoers in your establishment and it will not be the last.. nor will it be the last time their reckless disregard for business causes another unfortunate incident. As a Banite and a concerned customer of Kampo's, I implore you to take action. Do not let the knights walk all over you, or it may yet again end in the bloodshed of an innocent bystander. They offer little to no business to you, and bring nothing but trouble in return. Again, I offer not only my most sincere sympathies for the pain and suffering the Triadics must have brought upon you, but also the support of my brothers and sisters should you need it. So far there's no reply to the letter. However... The atmosphere inside Kampo's Storehouse is hushed, subdued. The few merchants and workers who ply their trade within the storehouse go about their daily business as usual. However, each of them stop occassionally to glance toward the bar Kampo has operated for years in his establishment....a bar which remains empty in the aftermath of the deadly confrontation in which Kampo himself was struck down. Any questions asked by those who travel through the storehouse are directed toward Pereppi, with Hirk the Hork and Pereppi's twin orc bodyguards looming very close by. The following rumors can be heard circulating about the isle about the incident:
"I heard he was just trying to break up a fight, poor bastard." "I was there! Seen it with my own eyes! It was them Triadic Knights what did him in, I swear!" "Knights? Naw, it was them Banites. Always musclin' in where they ain't wanted, you know." "You idjits, it was one o' them drow! Ain't surprisin', seein' how close them so-called "good" drow live, ya know." "Ain't no matter, ol' Kampo'll be back soon. They took his body to Kohlingen to be brought back from the dead!" "Aye....but what if it don't work? What then?" |
