Sera sees the notice posted in Endirs as she leaves her house. Why she choose to stay so close the the woman that betrayed her, she doesn't know. Reading the poster over once, then twice... Walking away, then after a few moments, going back to read it a third time. She sighs, and leaves her own addition to it after many long moments in thought.

Free people of amia. There is no new threat, do not be decieved. This threat has been around far longer than you know. This Gorthod, had actually spoken nothing but truths about the Horsemen, and their Red Wizard allies. He -did- leave out the fact that they are also allied with Auril, and a new Arch-duke of hell. Another fact he left out, for he probally has no idea... General Rose, aka Legion, is none other than a full blooded Devil, who stole a childs body at birth. I know this for a fact, as she had her very wife fooled. These four groups, The Banites, Horsemen, Aurilites, and Red Wizards will cruch this isle in an Apocalypse that not even your worst nightmares can comprehend... Imagine hell on Toril... Then imagine General Rose "devil" Legion, leading the hoardes. I offer up my mind to the Monolith, the imformation that I have should be more than sufficent to destroy not only the Red Wizards, but also the Horsemen, for good. For one fleeting moment the Horsemen actually stood to honestly help others, because that was the direction that -I- wanted to go. But that day ended when Rose became General.

Sera Faluvious
The poster seems to be signed in blood, and is placed up everywhere that Gorthod has his.

Fredrick would pass by this notice, and it's addition. Stopping to read them both with some interest. Keeping in mind wha he has just read, he makes his way through the rainy terrain.

A black trenchcoat is tightly wrapped around a tuigan man with eyes completely blacked and a war-weary face shivering from the cold.

With his arms firmly crossed, he mumbles outloud.

"What is with all this writing in blood? I'll mention that this town is apparently running short of ink and have some delivered."

Sati continues his way, continuing to gripe.

"Using blood as ink... that's just... gross. And sticky."

* The High Magistari is maid aware of said notice an sends a runner to place a reply*

The living city of Tarkuul is neutral, all are welcome within our city so long as the laws are followed. Having said that the living city is neutral in all things, any Tarkuulian an many of those who reside outside of the protection of the living city can tell you this.

The living city shall remain a neutral location an place of learning an knowledge, we seek no complications to our work an so i find this allegation highly preposterous. The city may well not be some ideas place of residence an in-fact go against others morals or religions, however we are set apart from the rest we stand alone an welcome all who need sanctuary to our gates. You need not attend if our arts or city offends.

I can not however speak for the individuals who reside outside or within the city, they are there own people an if said alliance even existences i once again advise the living city denounced any involvement in such.

If this is not proof enough i invite one representative with an escort of no more than two others (that remain with us at all times) to attend the city an minself an speak on such matters to ensure such allegations are cleared up promptly.

High Magistari of the Magistarium Mortins Valkin Mulgin.

Calin;

HE may not be neutral, and in fact I believe you correct.

However, Tarkuul in and of itself is neutral, to /all/ so long as they do not disturb the pursuit of knowledge within its walls.

Upon a rare stroll, one mustached mage seems inclined to put to parchment a response.

~~

The threat does not lie merely within the far-reaches of frost-bitten Chillwyck alone.

Consider several facts:

~ Valkin Mulgin - Thayan, known necromancer with a desire of lichdom, and child-murderer - was the Overseer of the Crimson Arcanists, a Thayan enclave that held designs to hold the Amian isle under Thayan influence.

~ Valkin Mulgin is a senior and most influential member of the current Red Wizard enclave that holds the same desires of dominance, as publicly admitted by their own khazark. As all goodly folk know, Red Wizards always deal in treachery and lies; their intent and machination ever-malign.

~ Valkin Mulgin, a Red Wizard, holds a position of power and influence within the Living City of Tarkuul.

Further, it is well known that the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, a dubious and evil organization, have been long time allies of the Thayans and supporters of Thay's attempts to establish dominance upon these isles. It is further known that the so-called attack upon the Red Wizard enclave atop the Skull Crags, the citadel Armageddon (the once Horsemen base that they for a time shared, I would mention for those unawares, until the Horsemen departed for the Frozenfar), was a mere ploy to give the Red Wizards time to recoup; and an attempt to endear the Horsemen of the Apocalypse in the eyes and in the hearts of Amian adventurers and opinion-shapers. Duplicity, to be brief; and a game shared by their allies, the Red Wizards. Tried, attempted, and ultimately failed to pull wool over Amian eyes.

Given these facts, I question the "neutrality" of those who hold sway in Tarkuul. I challenge the claim that it is a mere institution of knowledge and learning in light of current leadership, and will continue to until such time that Thayans do not hold power and sway within. It is clear the current leadership wishes to use Tarkuul for their own gain under the guise of neutrality.

The game played is obvious. Twist fact how you may, the goodly folk of the isle see matters as they are, in the light of illumination that reason and logic so provide.

*This section of his notice is underlined with an addition*

Mineself would be happy to answer your questions on the matters brought to light, as stated, unless thou is simply making gossip an romours to spread an propaganda that will once again bring war an violence.

The city an minself is neutral an will do as required to protect the city, one might find allies in the strangest of places if thou would but look past issues you believe to be true, or issues so long in the past that they cloud your judgment.

I have spoken with thou before on occasion an my words were true, i seek not to upset the balance but maintain it an protect the living city.

that is all.

An addendum under Ulrik's replies:

Not only is the High Magestri of Tarkuul Valkin a malign threat to this island he also cannot even be controlled by his own Khazark.

Under the captivity of the Red Wizards, one of their number placed me under a powerful compulsion known coloquially as 'Dominate Monster' which I had fallen sway under given the practice of their Enchantress.

However, he couldn't accept that alone as sufficient control over me. Nay, he had to use a powerful form of Necromancy known as a Necromantic Cyst, with which he would have compelled me to do much more then the simple Engineering request his Khazark had of me I sense, and additionally he would have had the capacity to completely deprive me of my higher brain functions. He even admitted as much as having additional work in mind, trying to enslave me to their machinations. The even sadder point to this gross over-use of magics is the fact that his own Khazark albeit quietly, did not wish the use of the Cyst.

By the by, this Engineering request was to have me find key points in the upper levels of where they laired to facilitate demolitions, fearing an attack coming against them by the Horsemen which I imagine now to in fact be fallacy.

To give an idea: The Domination spell could simply have been removed by Disjoning magics, the Cyst had to be removed through a great deal more effort, an effort those whom participated in have my eternal thanks.

I am uncertain if what Mister Gorthod says is true, but I KNOW that the High Magestri has designs far beyond serving Tarkuul.

Tacked up beside Ulrik's post the following message has been affixed.

Simply talking about the misdeeds of the offenders does nothing but glorify them in the eyes of their allies.

You all have your convictions, perhaps it is time you stuck to them and followed the codes your gods have bestowed upon you. This Triad seems to be doing a fine job of following theirs. We, at least, will be following our manifesto.

If proof of our accusations are required you need only find a member, who will point you in the right direction.

Clearly, the mutterer wasn't the only one that noticed....
Valkin, stop trying to be Frey. Sad as it is, you haven't his intellect, his skill, or his style.

Even possessing his skill at irritation won't make you a lich. We all know who you are, what you are, what you want....and fortunately, what you lack.

Valkin, the Crimson Arcanist (so named when Thay decried him worthless and a fraud), wants nothing so much as domination and death for any who oppose. I can -absolutely- state that he not only worked with but was effectively commander of the Horsemen, thus the likelihood of him doing so again is high.

Be warned, good people of Amia, much is afoot, and NONE of it bodes well.

Horsemen have -never- been lead by Valkin. Oh and yes since you offered, I would like "proof" to all these accusations. I mean, what, is court fndings now looked over, and justice based on the rantings of a drunk and a traitor? Names have been taken down, those allegedly guilty of slander, expect to be arrested and questioned and required to show proof to back up your accusations or face -severe- justice and sentencing. I would ask at this time any others that believe they have some kind of proof against us, doubtful, take it to some place like Cordor and let an official from there announce such unfounded allegations. Until that time, all that has been commented here is rumor and others opinions which is merely circumstantial. I would expect the lawful groups of the realm to observe such due process, lest they are no better than cyricists.

There seem to be no further public postings made, nor is the initial replaced in any way, shape, or form.

This reply is sent directly to the Living City, sealed, and addressed to the High Magistari.

~

You should know well what regard I hold for your word, Valkin.

It holds no value, carries no weight, and means absolutely nothing to me. Claim what you may, I do not believe a moment that you have 'changed' or desire anything less than to drive your malign will to power on these isles at the expense of goodly and decent folk. The day I regard you as an ally is the day I have abandoned my senses and logic for folly and madness.

After-all, High Magistari, the Past is prologue, and yours is long since written in blood and lies. As I wrote you before, I shall reiterate once more. You, Valkin Mulgin, and your Thayan magelings remain my enemy.

Rest assured, Red Wizard, for the Lady of Mysteries will one day visit judgement on you for your abuses of her Gift.

Rose, don't be a moron.

You couldn't best the Banites when I led them; your members defected to join us.

You couldn't hold me now more than you could clutch water. Your Banite motif is as glaring as day to those of us that have served the Iron Hand, which means I know /exactly/ how you work.

I have felt the touch of the Black Hand Himself. YOU have not a prayer in hell of scaring me.

And for the record, you had people coming to me while i still led the Church whining that you and Andras allowed Valkin and his idiots free reign in Apocalypse, up to and including ordering them around.

Hence why Haze and his group left. My son is proof enough of that.

You are liars, frauds, and exceedingly /bad/ Banites.

Do not meet with the vile devil know as Legion. It is a trap. I know firsthand the hatred she feels for you. Instead, I invite you to the Monolith. There, I will show you -hard- proof of the Horseman lies. The evidence that Rose, the Devil thought unattainable. The documents I hold prove beyond a doubt their evil ways, so evil, they dont even tell their troops whats going on..... Heres a teaser...

Attention Inner Sanctum,

Muster the troops to prepare for battle, we will be attacking, possibly allied with the War Knights, the Thayan enclave within a half a tenday. For all rights and appearances destroying them. The entirety of what was Armegeddon and is now the Thayan Enclave base is rigged to explode. Doing this we'll cover most of the tracks. I've also sent notice to Phalanxyrian to bury them alive in a blizzard making sure that none escape. In actuallity I'm simply having buried any evidence of there survival. In so doing in all appearances the Horsemen will have destroyed the enclave and this alone will premote us to a grand acceptance among the people of Amia. I have faith this group can be of use to us in the future with a new name and completly unrelated to the old group.

Legion

Now as far as the regulars knew, they were attacking for true... Only the General, and her captains knew the truth.

*Nina sees the growing tacks and leaves a message of her own, small orbs of light forming and dispelling cyclically as she writes.*

General Legion and members of the Horsemen,
If you seek to enforce Horseman Laws on lands that are not under your direct sovereign control once more, know that such behavior will not be tolerated upon Bendir soil. Arrests made on lands not controlled by the Horsemen violate the laws of said lands. As always, our land is one of peace and is to remain free of violence. Our militia will enforce this if the need arises. Consider this a formal warning to respect the sovereignty of our lands.
That is all.

"Legion has had plenty of chances to attack me. I went hunting on my own with a party of 6 Horsemen. At any time they could have killed me or captured me. They did not. This generally leaves your claims to be hollow. This took place after they attacked the Thayvain Enclave. Furthermore, I have given Legion and her Horsemen numerous chances, and helped them attempt to move away from Andras path. They have taken every bit of advice to heart, and followed through. They have had chances to take over a defenseless Bendir Dale, they have not. They have had chances to take Endirs Point, they did not. I see no reason to not meet with them, and if they have Banites with them, I shall speak to them to. I bare not grudge against either group, even if some of the Banites and their allies still wish to see my own dead. I know that this opinion does not ring true through all of their ranks.

So let me make this clear. I don't agree with the Horsemens actions always, but nor do I think that your claims ring entirely true. I'm sure there is a middle ground in this that holds all the answers, and I will find it myself, without attempts at manipulation from others.

-Signed
Warlord Calin Katar"

We are far from defenseless, thank you very much for your assessment.

"Apologies Nina, I did not mean to offend the hin. The reply was directed at Sera. While you are not defenseless you certainty have less arms at your disposal then normal, having to split the guard and all. With the Horsemen camped outside your town like they were, and with the forces they have, its quite possible they could have taken your town should they have wished to.

We have no intention of taking the Dale by force or any other means. I worked closely with Captain Lyam, of the Dale and asked if we could simply camp out and offer our assistance should the need arise. He agreed to such, we stated no jursidiction only that we wished to be close by should we be needed, any arrests made would and will be turned over to the officers of the Dale militia. Sera I originally discharged you honorably lettting none know of your treachery and your failure at trying to control the High General and run the Horsemen with your own selfish agenda. Consider your discharge dishonorable and furthermore your a traitor and now marked for Death as such. Why couldn't you just leave it alone. Furthermore spreading these outlandish lies, no matter any who would take the word of a backstabbing traitor, wouldn't listen to the voice of reason at any rate. So rally those naive enough to listen to your vengful rantings Sera and count your days, your treachery is numbered and you will face justice.

Appoligies Warlord Calin, I look forward to meeting with you to clear up these rantings and false accusations from drunks and traitors. It's hard enough as it is trying to overcome our past. Seems there is plenty old embers to stir up but, no, these two have to make it up as they go along.
