Open Letter to the Eternal Order and the Weave Knights

To the Eternal Order, it has come to my attention that you wish to speak with me concerning my business dealings. I have been told that that effort has gone so far as to request my Dawnlord hand me over, but under what charge I know not. I would be more than happy to discuss with you at length any number of topics that you deem important. All you have to do is ask. As a paladin of Lathander, I peacefully promise to give you honest and forthright answers. It would be foolish to provoke a more aggressive response by using force, as I have already stated that I will come forth peacefully. My only caveat is that it occur at a neutral location to both parties and that representatives of both parties and if possible even a third party be present. Again, I have nothing to hide. Let us schedule a time for such a meeting that is convenient to all.

I do understand that part of your accusations include dealings with necromancers and Banites. That is patently false. I can only assume that you are talking about two recent converts to Lathander that were FORMER Banites, their names need not be mentioned. Of this I am patently proud and will boast of the accomplishment until the end of my truly blessed life.

In another matter, I have been accused of losing or nearly losing my paladinhood by a certain faction in Amia, particularly the Weave Knights concerning the items related to the vampire attacks. True, there was an incident involving Ulrik and his son in which a certain sword was destroyed for the boys return. Yes, I was upset that the sword was destroyed after being promised it would be returned to me. I do admit at the time I was upset and demanded restitution. I would expect that most would have acted like I did at the time considering the sword was so rare and a possible means of trapping the vampire conven. For that act the Weave Knights believe I crave these items over the welfare of the good citizens of Amia and I use(d) them to my benefit. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have since rescinded my demand for restitution and have let the matter pass. Again I state for record, I need no restitution for the sword I entrusted to Ulrik. I have also since apologized to Ulrik about the incident on more than one occasion. At the time he verbally accepted my apology but since then the Weave Knights have used the incident as a means of casting dispersions on my character and mental faculties. That is quite an interesting turn of events considering I have since only wished well for him and his family, even to the point of healing his ailing wife’s wing with my innate ability.

Anyone should know, even the Weave Knights or the Eternal Order, that as a paladin I am duty bound to fight evil, especially undead, with everything that I am: bone, blood, soul and spirit. If you consider me overzealous in my prosecution of said vampires, then so be it, I am guilty. I do care about the people of Amia. I have made it my life’s work to bring to them the joy and blessings I have received in my life. I would gladly lay down my life, with or WITHOUT the disputed items, in any fight against the vampires.

If you have any doubts about what I say, you can speak to me directly. This is much more preferable than the behind-the-back accusations I have been receiving. Let it be known that I AM a Dawnguard and will continue to proudly be as long as my Lord, Lathander, allows me. May His light shine on the paths of all!

There was a meeting in which this was aired fully to the satisfaction of the Monolith's administration. Continued pursuit of the issue is counter productive and as Interim Headmaster, this subject is considered dropped. Allegations originating from the Tower on an official basis are falicies meant to inspire distrust. If there are any doubts to your person we feel as dangerous to the common good, we would have gone through the proper channels of the Dawn-Speaker's office. Dame' Whiteheart and I have spoken and there are no outstanding issues between our organizations.

I refer you to her with any questions in this regard and would be happy to elaborate and reiterate such. On a personal level, your Paladinhood is between you and your god. You may not be a popular individual, however, I believe loosing your patronage with Lathander would earn you grievious punishments by your current brethren and as such is none of our affair.

That being said, if there are particular persons that you feel speak in any way for the Monolith's interests, spinning these accusations, please come forward with those names, so that we might have clarity in these dark times.
