*Throughout major cities such as Kholingen, Cordor, Wiltun, Underport, Winya, the Tower of Mystra, L'Obsul and Tarkul, large, iron studded and supremely ornate posters are hung in the major thourougways of the mentioned cities. The posters are placed by men and women of varying races in the colors of the Honorable Serpent: electric blue, black, and tan. Great detail seemed to have been put into each one and although all have the message written in common, they additionally have translations in Draconic and Elven on the surface and Drow and Undercommon in Underport and L'Obsul. They seem to be scribed on heavily, high quality vellum that resists most mundane wear and tear. They read as follows* Greetings and warmest regards to all Children of the Art! I, Beldor Ma'fer, Eldritch Knight Superior of the Honorable Serpent, am conducting a census of all innately magical peoples of this land for research and betterment of the Art and its users. To all whom have mind and time to reply, I ask you, answer the short questionnaire that follows this message. If you are unsure of any answer, feel free to answer with an uncertainty or with mere speculation. If you wish for your answers to remain private, you may send them to me at the Tower of Mystra and you may rest assured your answers will remain confidential. You may leave your name if you wish, but it is not required. Otherwise, you may scribe your answers on the open space of this banner. Chiefly, I intend this to be done by sorcerous peoples, but cantomancers(bards) are as well welcomed to fill it out, should their volition stir to it. The drow sorceress of red hair stops by one of these notices in L'Obsul and smiles when seeing the name signing them. She copies the questions and starts answering them. Questionnaire: 1. What is your race? Drow 2. What is your gender? Female 3. At what age did your abilities manifest? Very soon. Does it not happen like that to all of us? 4. Were either of your parents sorcerous or wizardly? Sorcerous. My family is known to have birthed sorcerers for centuries. 5. Do you believe your powers stem from the heritage of some magical creature? If so, what kind? Yes, many centuries old. Our first matron was known to have fun with demons from time to time and her first children would be half-demons. Thank you for your time. A pleasure, hotshot. You will know who I am soon enough. I've heard mother speak of dragons in hushed tones but she wont' give me the dirt. *Familiar heavy studded vellum posters find their way to Shadowscape, Kampo's, Bendir, Underport, L'Obsul, Tarkul, Kohlingen, and the winding roads beyond Caraigh. Some are put up by Beldor himself while others are delivered by Slaadi of several variety, though all observably docile. Greetings once again Children of the Weave, In response to a resurgence in interest and several requests from my colleagues, I am conducting the second Sorceror's Census of Amia and surrounding islands. The information obtained in the last census was quite groundbreaking to say the least, leading to several new theories that have shed light across the board. We were also able to help fellow sorcerers better know the nature of their gift and even direct them in a path of study, aiding their growth as a both users and students of the great Art. The specifics are the same as last time, as are the questions for the most part. Cantomancers are just as encouraged to participate, should their magics be innate. You may answer here or you may send your questionaire directly to me and my associates at the Ma'fer Manor of Shadowscape. If you participated in the last census, feel free to do so once again by signing your name and noting any new personal discoveries(or lack thereof). Were either of your parents sorcerous or wizardly? Kobolds don't know their parents, it's possible but unikely 5. Do you believe your powers stem from the heritage of some magical creature? If so, what kind? As a Silver Kobold who has undergone Four Rites, it is safe to assume that it stems from Silver Dragon ancestry. ----------------------------------------------- From Tarkuul: 1. Tradition says we are the descendants of a forgotten goddess, but I don't place any faith whatsoever in such stories. |
