People of Cordor,

If you’ve ever had a rough day at work, your wrist sore from filling out Ministry paperwork, back aching with the strain of unloading the many ships that arrive in the City of Waters’ port every day, fingers rubbed raw after the final stitch of thousands, you’ve undoubtedly sought peaceful rest and relaxation. And where would you have gotten it but in the Temple of Love?

Sadly, you will no longer be able to take part in your deserved recuperation. The Temple has been condemned by the Council of Cordor. No longer will you be able to soak your weary feet in the Temple's warm, soothing baths. Followers of Sune, Lliira, Sharess, and other goddesses of fertility, beauty, and love will no longer have a place to worship. Citizen Xaviera Xee, who has long worked to bring comfort to the hardworking citizens of the Commonwealth, will have the dream she sacrificed so much for destroyed.

As citizens of the Commonwealth, you now have a voice in government that rings louder than the decree of any Councilor. Sign this petition to let them know that the proud people of Cordor support Citizen Xee and confirm the upstanding status of the Temple of Love.

If the People will it, let it be done.

The tale of the Council's purported action spreads around town by word of mouth, told and retold by those who came to relax after a hard day's work in shop and field and found the doors barred. In fact, some concerned citizens, hearing the story, have apparently taken up a petition to ensure that the Temple remains open to all. Still others say that the Mistress of the Temple, Xaviera, tore the sign down and threw the doors open when the Council's Chief Clerk would (or could) tell her nothing of any charges. Though she has not been seen since, and in fact is rumoured to be at home and unwell, her assistant Dima says that nothing has since been heard of any legal action, and that business will continue as usual for now.

// I dont know who put it up originally, and I regret that I didn't get a screenie of it, but AFAIK the notice of condemnation was placed in front of the Temple and the doors trapped by a PC and not by a DM. Feel free to smack me for putting words in Franton's mouth, though I tried to make them as noncommittal as possible.

The petition is taken away by a clerk from the Commonwealth Center and replaced with a single sheet that explains what he, a clerk from the Ministry of Health and Public Welfare, tells to anyone forum style throughout the day, between the Commonwealth's public message board and the bathhouse itself.

"The Commonwealth Council has supported the Temple of Love since before its construction, and is proud to proclaim that the Temple of Love continues to pass its health inspections regularly. The notice of condemnation was fraudulent and so poorly constructed that an official investigation is unnecessary. The petition begun shall be overlooked, as the Temple of Love's ability to remain open to the public and free of condemnation rests upon its ability to continue to pass the requirements of the Ministry of Health and Public Welfare, and this will not be so hastily over-ridden by non-citizen Alanna Indrire's attempt to subvert the process and provide the Temple of Love with an unmanaged sovereignty."

Tacked up underneath by the albino woman, face tinted pink with embarrassment, is a hastily written note.

"It was no intention of mine to subvert the important Health and Saftey checks that ensure the well- being of the citizens of this city. It was a misunderstanding on the behalf of myself and a few others, one the sign- makers seemed to be trying to illicit and a trap I fell too readily into.

Despite the official denial, the notice appears once again on the doors of the Temple. Dima lodges a formal complaint at the nearby guardpost on behalf of Xaviera, showing the officers the sign.

That same elf who signed his name jumps up, yelling with joy. A happy smile on his face as he dances around. Eventually he leaps higher into the air, turning into a tiny blue wyrmling, soaring off into the sky after he hears from the Commonwealth, unaware of the sign still there..

Lisselle, sighs relieved that the beautiful temple isnt condemned.

Alynne Iriart removes her boots and relaxes in one of the baths, ummmmming pleasing after killing an large number of monsters around the isle. Condemn this? They must be crazy.

Delarwyn that is temporarily living at the temple until she finds out if she can go back to live at the Shrine, had signed the petition and then rejoiced that it wasn't condemned. Knowing the place well she was indignant that such thing could even be possible.

Shalwyn sees the condemnation and frowns a bit, the Lady was so nice why are humans doing this? I hope they don't destroy the Idol of Hanali.

Arielle and Angela don't notice the sign.

Ayla Dea signs the petition before it was sent back to the government and grunts angrily with the decision. One of the best places in Cordor and they want it down? When resolution was to allow it to continue, she seems to have calmed down and headed to the Temple to give her support to Xavi.

The ToL is actually fairly small and consists of only those areas you can actually see in-game (with one exception that is really only relevant to DMs). Usually it would be closed for at least a few hours each night for cleaning and would reopen shortly after dawn. Customers too tired or too drunk to go far would be encouraged to rent a room upstairs at Gabilgathol's Alehouse across the road.

Josalynn time and again sees the sign appear in front of the temple doors, and time and again tears it apart.

Even on one occasion running outside naked from a bath when she hears about it from someone who had just entered.

"If i ever catch this moron who keeps putting up this sign i will send him to the nine hells where he belongs!" she shouts to all around in her nakedness as she once again tears it apart.

A slim looking man, most likely elf, fades out of the shadows, giving her a wink and friendly nod, the elf none other then Isa. He scans over her in her state and snickers. Then he fades back into the shadows; this time his weapons out as he waits...
