Drahj walks buy the poster humming and it catches his eye, quickly he backpedals and looks at it closely, head bobbing in constant motion. He quickly checks around looking for others and then licks the poster repeatedly smearing the ink while humming "ho-dum-diddly hoho-papa loota-hahaha-dum!" He then removes the poster and readjusts it to make it look better, upside down of course the skips out the room. |

It was morning in Cordor as I stepped out of the Nomad, and dawn broke over the city like an egg, sunlight dripping down over the still-sillouhetted buildings like so much yolk into the frying pan of life. Merchants hurried through the streets on their way to set up their stalls, making sure not to look any of the surly patrolling guards in the eye for fear of being arrested on charges of "disturbing the peace", and the smell of the steam rising out of the city sewers mixed with the familiar port-town smell of sea salt and decaying fish. Yup, just a typical morning in Cordor. It was enough to make any man's stomach turn... but I'm not any man. I'm Tracer Bolt, Hired Eye. The special morning smells of the City of Tolerance always do wonders for my appetite, so I prepared my special investigator's breakfast as I started on my morning rounds. The recipe goes a little something like this: 1 sheet paper, 2 pinches tobacco... roll and let smolder over an open flame, puffing occasionally. Shot of bourbon for flavor. I was just starting on my third helping when something made me choke, not to mention damn near spill the most important meal of the day. No, I hadn't finally seen the secret ingredients the sausage vendor uses; there's some things even I won't investigate. It was a poster on the wall advertising an agency of "Private Investigators"... apparently someone was trying to cut in on my territory. Well, I thought, as I finished off my breakfast and tossed the bottle into a trash barrel. Looks like I'm finally going to have some competition around here. Maybe things in Cordor will finally start to get interesting... I took down the name of the guy running this "API" for future reference. I'd have to pay him a visit one of these days... but right now, I had to head back to the Nomad. If I was going to get a head start on my competition, I needed more energy, and that meant another bottle of breakfast. |
