| Post subject: | Addressed to the Cordor guards... |
In neat, slanted writing, and in an envelope adorned with a leafy pattern, is the following letter addressed to the Cordor guards or superiors... Guards of Cordor, Something has recently happened to me within your city that begs your immediate attention. Though I seldom ever venture inside the city gates, I had need of its services yesterday afternoon when I was confronted by a raspy, deep-voiced and indeed shady looking human woman. At first she muttered something under her breath, of which I didn't understand. She repeated for me, "Heading into Cordor?". I told her I was not, that I had just left and had no intention of returning. She asked me to deliver a message for her to the city guards. Expecting said message to be of the verbal variety, I accepted her request. Before she said what the message was, she asked me to follow her a short way from the town, before rasping something to the effect of, "Tell the Cordor guard that the Black Caravan now demands 100,000 gold a month from anyone coming from the frontier to Cordor, as payment for leaving them alone". Though I didn't know what it was she meant, it didn't sound friendly and I began to depart her grim presence. Before I managed to, however, she began casting a spell. A pillar of light seemed to rise from her hands from which she cast, and soon came for me. This, I assume, is the message I so merrily report to you now. I was knocked unconscious and it wasn't until after dusk that I was awoken by a man who helped me to my feet. Having little to do with Cordor myself, I'm not sure of the true implications of this request, but I think it is important I inform you of it. Unable to find any guards, or even knowing where I would be able to, I leave you with this. Should you need to know more of my account, I can usually be contacted from Winya Ravana.
