For the past few weeks random circles of gold have been created just north of cordor. Many gold pieces, sometimes up into the hundreds have been carefully placed in the dirt to form a shining circle. At times these circles are completely abandoned, only the remnants of food or animal bones remaining within before greedy travelers pick apart the circles. For those less fortunate, the circles creator has been present. A lone goblin works diligently for hours placing each gold piece in its place, not rising his head to look at the attention he gathers. Those who have disturbed him know it was a most unwise decision.
Any who are experts in arcane or goblin lore would be able to tell much from the patterns the goblin is driven to lay out. A simple circle of coins is most often used by tribes as a ward, a prayer for protection from their enemies. A circle with a summoners pentagram is an obvious attempt at bringing forth a planar being of great power. A circle with a cross through it is a sign of warning to their enemies.
No matter what the intention of the circle, if the goblin is present, he defends his gold to the death, shouting "NO TOUCH" at any who try to steal a piece from the circle. For many, this has brought them their deaths.
One rainy day on the frontier brought these circles into great concern. A large summoning circle was created, and this time each point was lit by candle, crude fires, or roasting spits. "Fire is good for finding its way to uss. The gold is good bribe yes" the goblin is heard saying to its tribes mates. Three goblins surrounded the circle that day, all arcane users, all powerful in the tribe. Upon completion of the circle, many men surrounded them, some onlookers, some confused, some holy. All witnessed an evil deed that day, when the paladins began to threaten the goblins. One charged and was fallen quickly by an enchantment. Shocked gasps from the crowd were silenced as killing spells and holding enchantments flew rapidly about, slaying all in their path. Only the neutral onlookers were spared their lives. After the carnage ceased, the creator of the circles, the one called Maggot, pulled the paladin into the circle center and began to pray over him.
Maggots eyes grew black and his mouth slacked open, drooling black ichor. Though his lips did not move, the sounds of abyssal voices rang clear in the frontier for all to hear. "DEMON COME WE CALL YOU DEMON COME FROM US MIND!" The goblin repeated this chant in many languages, the other goblin shamans all dancing about and chattering their own chants, amused by Maggots calls. Suddenly, the sky grew dark as the body of the paladin was lifted into the air in bone snapping unnatural ways. The claw of a red demon pulled itself from the body of the paladin, reaching up out of his chest. The demon towered over the treeline, large enough to blot out the sun.
Maggot ended his chant, as the demon called "Who dares call me... no... this cannot be. THE SUN IT BURNS!" The demon writhed in pain as it way called into the material and maggot seemingly lost consciousness. He fell over, with a stupid look on his face, a look of joy. The demon evaporated when the goblin fell into stupor. No one is very sure why the goblin lost consciousness then, only that such a summon was what he has been talking about, in his broken way of speaking, for many many years. Those who witnessed this event may never know what horrors were concluded that day, and how many new ones began.

Jair cautiously approaches the circle, activating his true seeing spell. He first scans the are for anything alive before investigating the scene. He tests the air for the presence of a magical field or remnant of some magical effect. He then takes a single coin from each of the 4 lines intersecting in the middle of the circle and waits to see what will happen.

Jair sends his voice out in a low rolling manner, sensing the way the magic in the air interacts with any remnant of magic hanging over the circle. Sensing his words of magic twist and bend, and echo back to him.

the particular circle jair comes across has a faint magical field, enchantments left over from its creator, an obviously very powerful mage. When he touches the coins, nothing happens, the circle remains unchanged and simply missing some coins. it seams its owner has abandoned it. it is clear however, this was a warning. all across the ground are the words "All Glory Maglubiyet" written in blood that ever flows, never drying (arcane mark).

After ascertaining everything He can about the circle and immediate area, and recalling that this has happened before, Jair heads off into town to see what he can find out about the purpose of this particular circle.

*a gold circle sun was created, and four bodies left dead in and around it. the bodies looked to be either crushed, burned, and one was well fought to its death. A wandering passer by was seen arriving before the situation ended. All that was left of the goblin Maggot was a trace of intense magicks and the words ALL GLORY MAGLUBIYET arcane marked into the ground in red lettering*

*A note is left for the goblin*
I would be sorely dissapointed if this is the best you can do.
I will be watching. Fear what you sow.

*the note finds a home amongst the smelly fetid, sticky, rotten, soiled insides of his robes. He doesnt laugh as he normally would, this time he simply dismisses it and cannot bring himself to toss the note away*

*this day in the frontier a gold circle populated by a large amount of goblins and their summons appeared. The goblins chanted around the circle for many hours, filling themselves with power from maglubiyet. Wanderers eventually found the circle, the first a small fey, unseen by the goblins for her small stature. Soon after a large half orc in full armor came to watch, remaining wholly out of the way until one of the goblins asked him who he was. He replied, giving his name and joining in their ritual. Another human was also watching them from the shadows, hidden by the nighttime tree line.
The fey came into the middle of the golden circle, poking her nose into the goblins business. She managed to anger the goblins who commanded their undead summon to snatch her from the air. She was surprisingly strong and was able to resist for a short time, while another human came to the group, strongly opposing the goblins ritual.
A fight broke out, after the goblin questioned them and found the answers unpleasing. Shortly, the fey and the human lay dead. From the shadows the sneak picked up more than half of the coins in the circle. The shaman noticed this and turned into a red dragon, spotting the sneak and attacking. They chased the sneak for a moment until a magical force pinned him down and finished him off.
The goblins cheered and celebrated their kills. Cries of pleasure and praises to maglubiyet rang in the valley and the younger members of the tribe were resurrected by the mages. On comman, the three dead were pulled into the circle and lit on fire, burning at the joy of the goblins and their tribe.
"DEMON TAKE THESE UNBELIEVERS TO MAGLUBIYET, TAKE THEIR SOULS!" The goblin known as Maggot chanted, calling forth the abyssal demon slave. It rose, blocking out the moon and shadowed by the fire light. "TAKE THEIR BODIES AND EAT THEM!" The demon bent over, reaching his huge claws into the flame, and putting the pyre whole into his maw and mashing them together. When its usefulness was over, the demons master commanded him back to the abyss.
The goblins reveled in their sacrifice and danced a while goblin celebration. While they were talking of rest in their cave, a familiar smelling elf in white walked up behind them, a sense of calm about him. Maggot recognized the elf first when it spoke to them in goblineese. This was one of the elves responsible for Dill and Maggots imprisonment. Maggot told the shaman of this, and unhappy, he ordered the elf dead. Though protesting the fight, the elf prepared himself.
It was a short but energy filled battle, most of which took place in stasis. At the end of a few short minutes, the elf lay dead, the goblins standing over him, removing the eyes as a trophy.
"Sixty one left"
The elf was dragged back to the cave for torturing... Hobgoblin, half-orc, ogrillion, and goblin alike all enjoying the mess of elf being pulverized for a long time. When the goblins attempted to raise the elf however, they noticed a white blue light. An enormous amount of power surged from the elf, just as Maggot cast a protection around his tribe. The blast knocked them off their feet, though they remained unharmed by Maggots enchantment. The dazzling light subsided and the elf was gone.
Two orcs had come into the forest cave, and were chased out by other goblins. When the elf dissipated, the bucktooths chased after the orcs. The ran out of the woods to the frontier, and realized they had lost their quarry but found something else at the same time. A golden symbol placed on the ground in the shape of a four legged spider.\ lay abandoned. The goblins pondered over its meaning, deciding that a drowess must be attempting to tell them something... the goblins also decided to improve on the spider, adding four more legs and some fire. The discussed thieves and sacrifices, when a human wandered by in a black long coat.
Quickly, in their blood frenzy, the hobgoblins were on the small human, pushing him back against the watery edge. Dill wished for the human to die, to be cut open and drained. The hobgoblins were ready to smash him into bits. The shaman hung back, smoking his pipe and looking calmly at them. Maggot stepped forward, calming the others. "Come come now, what can it learn from it being dead hm? Other than how to be good slave hehe."
The human looked on in interest, remarking that Maggot must be the smarter of the goblins. Maggot returned that with a chuckle and questioned him on maglubiyet. When the human responded with a blank stare and no fear of the goblin god, Maggot ordered his leg be taken off and the human held upside down and his head submerged in the water. The human struggled and slipped away, falling into the water and out of reach briefly. Maggot became enraged, shouting and waving his staff. The shaman watched with interest as the hobgoblins ran to tackle the human. They missed, ramming into the wet water bank.
The human wiped his brow and slipped by, drawing a blade. Maggot shouted "ENOUGH" and pulled a rod from his robes, raising it high. The magic stick's eye motif peeled away with dark magic and created an illusion in the humans mind, scaring him away. He fled at full speed.
Maggot put his rod away and scolded the hobgoblin for failing the capture, letting the human escape. "Lets hope this fear of maglubiyet is permanent... or you two will be fed to the worgs."

*the latest gold circle was a bit on the friendly, informative side. A few humans may now see the bucktooths through a different light. unfortunately for them.*

// Mind if I recommend an alternative?
A 1 or 2 DC spawnable magic-esque looking circle would probably be quite similar but with less lag potential
