Late one evening in the tower, a lone drow climbs the stairs carrying four bags. Barely acknowledging the other students present, and pinpoint focused on his destination, he approaches one of the many slabs on the second floor and dumps, carelessly, the four bags on top of it. Taking his time he flicks briefly through each of the bags then, finding the one he wants, withdraws its contents.

The distinct scent of dead flesh enters the room as he withdraws the unattached limb of an orc. Despite the scars of battle damage, it appears to be relatively well cared for. A salve for rudimentary preservation has been pasted over it, albeit thinly, and the muscles around where it was originally severed from the shoulder appear to have been carefully cut to follow the original tendon lines. The drow, taking the time and distinct pleasure to admire his own work, begins dissecting it.

Cutting carefully with his scalpel, he removes layer after layer to study the tissue. How is it connected? Where? What is the apparent density? Are there any abnormalities? Once finished with the first limb who moves on to the second bag, removing another orc limb and proceeds to investigate that as well. The third bag is opened, and another orc limb is removed, however this one is different. This one bears the tattoos and marks of the bloodmoon clan. Operating slowly on this one, the drow takes notes deliberately in comparison with the previous two, noting his own thoughts as he goes.

The final bag, however, is the oddest of them all. Reaching inside he removes a limb covered with hair. It is thick, bulbous, and unusually shaped. It is the limb of a Malarite wereboar. Slowly, the drow applies the same ritualistic incisions, cutting in line with the tendons, studying each layer intensely. The notes he records for this limb are significantly more in depth than before, and it is many hours before he turns away from the slab.

By morning, his dissection is complete. Packing the now thoroughly worked limbs, cut straight down to the bone, he places each back into their original bags and proceeds to clean his workspace. Once finished, he approaches a student for the first time, and with a cruel glint in his eye he asks politely.

"Excuse, could you tell me where the kitchen is?"

Marigath works out of the upper floors of the Velshaaran temple these days, the student would reply, seemingly unphased by the grisly scene, which he has likely enacted himself several times.
