Behold the vision of Nec'Pereya and L'obsul; as they were interpreted by this dazzling young man! His name is Phil and i'm currently paying him to improve his skills and help us bring Amia to life.
My vision is to contact other artists, Like Phil, to help transform written word into pictures and show new and old Amians what our server looks like. My goal is to rekindle the life of Amia, a server I and many others have called home since early 2004. The goal is to also put these pictures INTO the module itself, On loading pages or even the skyset inside the game itself. Most importantly I would like to see an update of the Splash page itself.
Please feel free to contribute with ideas or suggest what other areas or cities we should do next. I'll be paying out of my own pocket for this endeavour.
It'll certainly be interesting to see how an artist interprets what has been listed about the city.
Be sure to point out the 3 distinctly different architecture types on the island itself if you haven't already! And the 4 smaller islands around the major one!

I gave him so many screenshots, pictures, drawings (Your drawings) in-game maps and out of the game maps. I described the faerzress, the black waterway, the timeline of nec'pereya and linked a fuckton of 'Drow city pictures' for reference
Might be worth asking for him to draw a skyset for Nec'perya's sorrounding cavern. Basically, it would need to be a 360° drawing from the perspective of the island. We could add that to the next hak update.
Can somebody draw a quick sketch of l'Obsul In paint or on a napkin whilst out drinking?(travis!) I want to tap this guy more before he starts to raise his price!
Wow, nice initiative, Svensk! The guy does some good paintwork. I think I may contact him independently about doing some other work for us (or for me for some non-Amia projects). Don't feel you need to foot the bill for everything you commission for Amia. If you want to share in that, let me know what projects he has already been commissioned for.
I'd not mind paying a share of the commission either!

For L'obsul he could make some sort of earth pit, where you see civilisation (drow houses) at the bottom and dung on the top

L'Obsul is a deep deep chasm. Everything about the town, save for at the bottom, is either carved in to solid rock or protruding from it with almost bridge-like support. The upper portions are strongly influenced by Svirf, Duergar, and Kobolds. There is a lift system which takes you down to the lower part where the Drow and Orogs lurk.
The middle link you have is closest to how it should be.

Another GIG paid for! Give me some submissions as soon as you can! Rough sketches and descriptions like dusty posted. Screenshots, maps and whatever similar pictures you can find!
How big is L'obsul? How high? How do we want the picture? Areal view? Bottom and up? Describe!
Edit: Sure it can wait. The sooner the better thought.
As I wrote in the message we are looking forward to working with you again! Amiaworld.net as a community thanks you for the gorgeous work you have done so far - Better up; We want more!
This time we would like you to portray a similar drawing of a city in a similar setting. L'obsul
_______________ L'Obsul is a deep deep chasm. Everything about the town, save for at the bottom, is either carved in to solid rock or protruding from it with almost bridge-like support. The upper portions are strongly influenced by the weak and poor races. There is a lift system which takes you down to the lower part where the more powerful and influential residents of the city lurk. It's a small metropolis and have a sizeable population spread out across the walls and bridges.
The 'Chasm' is wider at the top and narrows down at the bottom.
_______________
What we are hoping to see! About the city itself
We would like it to be from a first person view or a third person view from either a balcony or a bridge. It's important to see the traffic of wares and cages up and down the chasm. It should look lively and busy. There is no Faezress in L'obsul, but the bridges and balconies around are lit up with torches and glowing stones. There are tunnels sprouting off from the main chasm in all directions, which turns into mines or residential areas and even tunnel-roads to other settlements.
I'm currently speaking to the community and there's a few of us that will try to draw up some sketches, in paint or on a napkin (Whatever we can get our hands on) in an attempt to give you a better idea of how it looks.
He's been very quiet for the past two days, which he was before he finished Nec'Pereya. So I'm going to throw a bone out and assume he's soon done with this!
He have a bazillion pictures to work from right now: let's hope it meets our expectations, our vision of l'Obsul. The only downside is that he never had any maps to work with: like he had with Nec'Pereya, so this is more a freestyle "interpret it as you wish" commission.

Turned out very nice considering we did not give him any in-game maps at all; Just written descriptions and dusty's sketch. The proportions are a bit off but HOPEFULLY we can adjust the IN-GAME module instead
Can't we also move this to the General Discussion? I'm sure we can return to the Underdark later, but right now I feel Tarkuul or Kholingen should be the next target.
