Im considering making a UD drow monk, unarmed (as all monks should be imo) but since I am horrid with D&D lore, I am needing some help with coming up with RP for such a character, and then how that RP would shape his personality. I remember hearing about how in some of the brothels or such in the UD, such drow were used as guards to keep the peace, since there was some rule (I think) about no drawing steel in the pleasure houses. Anyways, if anyone can get in touch with me via PMs to help eliminate some spam, or post here if you feel it could benefit all (Im deffinatly not opposed to that) I'll be very grateful for the assistance.

Quite simply, there's no manual that states you must play a character a certain way; it is your decision in the end.

Now, as always, the implementation of "lore" will always generate flak. However, you've conceived some background for your character that justifies why they are as they are which is a good start.

All I can say is, go for it. If you need more depth with deities however, feel free to read up here.

And there's no real drow community to tell you what the standards of lolth are anymore. So you can make any flavor of drow.

also im no DM but I dont think lolth takes monks. I have seen a number of loviatarian drow monks however.

There is a monk-like class/order for UD drow. I believe it's detailed in Drow of the Underdark, and the class is called something like Fang of Lloth.

I was looking through the wiki on evil drow dieties, none of them have LE :/ which is likely why theres been lovitarian drow monks, though is it possible to still have Lloth set as ones diety regardless? assuming of course that no cleric lvls are being taken

A drow can be LE, yes, so long as they aren't of the clergy. Then the one-step rule applies.

alright, and whats the recodnized name for the diety Lloth? I entered in Lloth upon character creation and it says "Lloth holds no domain in amia..."

Lolth. It can be spelled both ways, but the deity system only recognizes this spelling I think.

There is a monk running about whom is a member of House Jess d'l'Orbb (Fang of the Spider). The backstory was compelling and the character convinced the Matron Mother that they were very useful.

There is a monk group, but I'm having difficulty in locating them at the moment. I'll let you know when I do, but they generally have some sort of black poison substance of a sort clinging to their hands.

Found them. Worship me or something.

Monks of the Blackened Fist. They come from the drow city of Undrek'thoz and train in the House of Lightless Truth, they make up their own social class. From their hand to their forearm is usually covered by pitch or henna which is black and usually noticeable by other drow.

Each drow house in Undrek'Thoz contributes their own members to this monastery, these monks are used mostly for assassinations. The monk's oath is to remain loyal to both their House and the Spider Queen, but they still have some allegiance to their own order.

However naturally there might be a bit of scheming going on with the monks thinking about seizing control of the city with the Sorcere and Magthere from the Matrons.

And yes, the Blackened Fist monk order is described as male dominated.

For future reference Undrek'Thoz is in fact ten drow cities in the underdark area beneath Thay, they are connected to each other by portals.

Though I'm to make one now....

In Tinnerai there used to be an epic monk who served as a priestress guard-Don't ask me how the rank was called. As far as I'm concerned monks can find a place within the society (Be it lore-wised or not). Ulvir Tinnerai he was more or less called.

Monks are challenging to roleplay IMO but due to their uniqueness and their utility they can be excellent servants. Though, they're always regarded with anxiety and if they become an outsider it becomes tricky. But the above can only translate in excellent roleplay and character depth if you're in for it.

Correct. Ulvir Tinnerai was a pure monk and was an all-purpose guard for the clergy when they left the house. But, I'm pretty sure he wasn't part of the temple and only held a rank within the qu'ellar.

There is a monk group in the Undrek’Thoz. They are trained as assassins for the portals they use in the city do not allow metals of any kind pass, so the monks are in natural advantage.

At least if I recall correctly.

See system->subraces and he was speaking of a lolthite drow. (DnD/Forgotten realms)
