I sincerely hope this is not already discussed/solved issue, as I have tried to find it and failed.
I would ask how exactly works a dispel on assassin bonus skills / spells from widgets , such as Invisibility, Improved Invisibility and Freedom of Movement.
I ask because on one of my characters I'm having a slight issue with such dispels - even a dispel from absolutely worthless mob strips down all or almost all effects casted from assassin skill widgets.

I would expect (and hope) the caster-level = assassin level, yes?

I can't say anything about the Assassin widgets, but I know the Blackguard ones get dispelled by a mild breeze.

Anything off a widget has a caster level of roughly 1, as far as I know. For dispels.

Non spell-casting classes like Assassin and Blackguard have a CL of 30 in terms of dispel, it's a NWN engine quirk unless amia changed things recently. The only time your caster level is different from your character level is if you have actual levels in a caster class, in which case your caster level for dispelling is determined by your caster class level.
However there's a caveat to this: If your caster stat is below the minimum requirement to cast spells (9 or lower essentially), then you cannot cast spells and NWN does not modify your caster level. So for rangers this means you need a 9 or lower Wisdom score to keep a CL 30, for Bards and Sorcerers that means you need a charisma or 9 or lower, etc.
That's sort of a weird one, I know, but NWN is a really old game with really old quirks.
But to answer your question: No, assassin does not receive a caster level.

Could widgets not be edited to cast at Character Level instead of caster?

That would probably require custom widgets with a cl change awarded every time you level with variables for class level if there are class level dependant benefits.
Cumbersome but possible.

Or, instead of making it a widget, make it a class spell, if it's possible.

Giving the class a custom spell book is technically possible as it was recently done on NWN2, but would require waaaaayyyy to long to script for us. You may be able to do it via a Hak update and make it a class feat. Not sure how it'd handle CL then.

Changed the name of the topic to better reflect the current situation - it seems this issue apply to all PrC widget skills.

It must also apply to race widget spells and abilities also I presume?
