The harsh winds of Brogendenstein wash over Gregory Simmons' face as he stands next to Thovin Shieldheart, in contemplation of the events that preceded just one day prior. In their silence, a Silver Dragon approaches some commoners gathering over a fire. He pulls out a scroll and talks in a loud tone, but makes sure not to bellow it out loud:

"Dear good folk of Kohlingen,

The council continues to encourage patience and co-operation with our hosts while we continue to assess the damage we have withstood and look for new accommodation for us to settle and draw out plans on rebuilding our Holy City on less tainted land.

Due to this, the council alongside the Platinum Commander have appointed a new Justicar to replace the late Justicar Cystana. We performed out votes in a blind election and our results is as follows:

- 6 votes for Sir Gregory Simmons
- 1 vote for Illunamaeryx

As such, we have appointed Sir Gregory Simmons as our new Justicar of Kohlingen. All hail Kohlingen! All hail the Justicar! May Triad's light bless him as he guides us to our future!"

The commoners bow to the Knight as he says that, then look towards the new Justicar. Gregory looks away, perhaps embarrassed at the sudden limelight in attention, his shyness does little to mask his desire to look after his people though. He grabs a nearby log near from Thovin and moves towards the group of commoners, placing it on the fire to help stoke it. Thovin smiles, watching the Justicar as he makes idle chat with the commoners, asking their names, professions...

"It'll be all right." He mumbles to himself. "We have strong leaders, we'll get through this."

Embodied in darkness, lit up only by candles, an obscured large figures shuffles in ancient parchment. Obscuring the shape of what this being could be, a massive set of robes adorned with tomes, sigils and holy symbols of Bahamut. Footsteps can be heard as a male Solar adorned in shining silver armour approaches, falling down to one knee.

"You called for me, my lord?" He speaks with sincerity. His wings allow feathers to fall like cherry blossom as the candles flicker from his entrance. The massive figure turns, glowing brown eyes looming over to stare at the holy knight that entered.

"It is time we sought an audience with this new Platinum Commander. We shall call forth the council of Platinum Wings and invite herself and the new Justicar of Kohlingen." It says, with a deep and commanding voice. "We must let them understand the extent of what their actions have done for us."

Without saying a word in response, the Solar stands and holds out his right hand. A massive clawed hand stretches out, placing a small sealed parchment in to the much small hand in turn. The Solar is quick to depart, flying out of the cave-like structure.

The obscured beast looks at a dimly lit painting of Imperator. "I apologise in doubting you, old friend, now the land you helped protect has been lost. I will endeavour to make sure the same fate does not apply to the people you saved."

The candles blow out following a swift gust of wind.

The Platinum Commander Illunamaeryx slumbers in her natural form after a full day of working with her portion of the census. She had settled outside in the snows among the tents, lending her body heat to help keep some of the people warm. It is early in the morning, well before sunrise, when the dragon's body jolts suddenly and she wakes. She lifts her head, sniffing the air and looking around as if she had sensed something in her sleep. A figure next to her stirs, snow and wind blocked by the dragon's much larger form and a wing draped over the side.

"Mary...?" a young woman's voice sleepily mutters.

Illunamaeryx lowers her head and speaks softly, a sisterly gentleness to her voice. "It is all right, Deva. Go back to sleep."

Deva promptly drifts off again, still quite exhausted from her ordeal. The gold dragon watches her for a time before lifting her head again to look around once more. Seeing and sensing nothing further, she slowly returns her head to the ground and closes her eyes. A mixture of apprehension and anticipation begins to take root in her, making it difficult to fall back asleep. She needs her rest, though, and takes some time to concentrate for the sake of her recovery from her own wounds and exhaustion. Her breathing eventually slows and all is quiet and still again.

Meanwhile

In the vast emptiness of the Astral Plane, a lone Dragon floats, pushing itself from rock to rock. Its scales glowed a vibrant gold yet its wings and claw tips emanated a red hue. Its head, slender with two large slim horns from its skull, slicking back as it moved from rocky mass to rocky mass. Effortlessly hanging on to its back, an Elf adorned in the dragonhides of various chromatics... metallics and even the pristine condition hides of several gem dragons. The dragonrider clings to its partner holding on to its scales in one hand and his trusty longsword in the other. Eventually the Dragon makes a dramatic halt of its movements, clinging to a shard of rock floating in the neverending open space.

Before them, a white fissure glows ominously in the skies.

"Hos- look out!" Cried out the Elf. Before they knew it, they were already under attack by several beholders, firing their eye lasers as they used their psionic energies to move around the gravity lacking plane. The Dragon quickly launched off, violently throwing itself from rock to rock in an effort to outdistance the Beholders. After a few minutes, it dared to turn back, revealing their pursuers absent.

"That's the third one already... these breaches are becoming more common dear friend." Replied the Dragon with a proud tone. "I believe we have gathered enough evidence to the Elder, I sincerely hope they listen to it, those old Wyrms sitting on their stone chairs will no longer be able to refute what I have to say."

"I hope so." Agrees the dragonrider. "If we have another Scalemass without their action, I fear these breaches will become more apparent on all planes connecting to the Prime."

"Cast open a Gate, I am ready to return to the Prime to rest until the Scalemass begins."

The malevolent energies of the ruins of the Holy City begin to ebb, the undead shades that linger the city appear mesmerized by something...

As more Silver Dragons and Platinum Knights arrive in Whitestag Shore, rumours begin to spread across the isle an attack on what lingers on the city grows more likely...

Whitestag shore continues to see reinforcements arrive day by day.

Meanwhile in Barak Runedar, the sombre mood seems to be fading. A lot of commoners have since integrated with the Dwarves and many offer their trade skills to aid the Citadel. The council of Kohlingen spend most of their time at their table observing the map of an obscure island...

Determined to help the people he took an oath to save, care for and protect even though he'd been released from that Oath to take another, in his mind that first oath, twice sworn to these people, their city and their government was still just as valid. He would not desert them, returning on regular trips with food he'd made himself when not making armor and weapons to teach them with. The best way to combat fear and despair, was knowledge, education... he would teach them to fight back, do what he could to help assuage the feelings of helplessness. He'd already asked the dwarves to help by encouraging them to include the common people of Kohlingen to assist in just simple daily tasks. These people, his people, were used to being busy, idleness only encouraged despair and gave feelings of hopelessness root.

Meanwhile, he waited for an audience with Captain Navare to discuss the efforts at Whitestag Shore and the training of the civilians in combat. Also, repairs to arms and armor needed. While he may not be a Knight of Kohlingen any longer, he still felt like one and would do everything he could to help them.

After a spontaneous skirmish into the ruins of the Holy City, there is some extra activity at Whitestag Shore. The gold dragon Illunamaeryx returns with the skirmish party consisting of several Kohlingers and various allies, but she appears to have been gravely wounded. Her three Dragonbane scars bleeding, she sinks into the grass and struggles to focus on words spoken by Prem, who had apparently been waiting for them there. The paladin Mihaela and the kobold Kurchin tend to her bleeding wounds while the group discusses the day's events.

It is revealed that Illunamaeryx had been dealt another powerful blow during the latest skirmish, nearly killing her. The sheer power behind the enemy responsible apparently put her over the edge. As Prem puts it, the young dragon "reached her limit."

Illunamaeryx then temporarily places Khayri in charge of the Order after Prem states that he must take her away to recover from all that has been dealt to her over the past year of fighting. She is, after all, a young dragon and has miraculously survived more than any dragon her age ought.

After some quiet farewells, Prem shifts into his natural form (that of a bronze dragon) and takes Illunamaeryx into his arms. He soon takes flight and carries the young gold r dragon away, promising those left behind that she will be cared for and returned to her people in three months.

Thus the forces gathered at Whitestag Shore must look to a new commander, and decide swiftly how to proceed...

Illunamaeryx slowly sank back down on the ground within the cave. She had only been out moving around for a short time, but she was already exhausted again. And her stomach hurt. It was an unusual sensation - certainly not something she had felt before. She had been sleeping for too long, and the information she'd gleaned this day had only added weight to her shoulders. But it could have been worse...

She gazed down at the platinum scale resting in her talons. Her faith in her King would never be shaken, and she would do as she has been instructed. There was much to do still, and she was worried about her people she had had to leave behind. But they were strong. Their allies and friends were strong, especially together - that was one thing everything she had learned today should have emphasized to her.

Her gaze drifted to the cave entrance. Tucking the scale away for now, she began to chant a spell. She was supposed to be resting, but she had to take a moment to follow up with a few people. It would ease her mind, at least...

The strange portal-like object floating above Kohlingen closes dramatically...

It appears whatever was controlling the undead and outsiders in the Ruins is no more...

But now the dead linger aimlessly...

A victory?

Who knows.
