All was quite on the River of Swords...
Too quiet.
The raucous hordes of demonic beasts had all but withdrawn, leaving the battle-torn banks of the river a desolate waste where the once beautiful water flowed peacefully. This short lull gave the weary Mulhorandi a chance to count their losses, bury their dead with proper respect due to a fallen hero and prepare for the inevitable waves of enemies that would once again try to send them into oblivion.
But... the attack never seemed to come. The soldiers became bundles of nerves as they waited for what was seemingly an eternity with no sign of the impending horde. What was going on? Had they defeated the horde or was this just the calm before the inevitable storm?

On practically the other side of the world, far removed from the sands of her homeland, the quiet seer wandered the plagued forests and groves of Caraigh. These were unfamiliar lands to her, and the taint niggled at the back of her mind, leaving her uncomfortable, and caused her to put off what they knew must be done. The scattered demons and walking dead were ignored, the young druid adopting the sleek black forms of raven and jaguar to wing her way overhead or slink through the underbrush unmolested. She knew the area harbored another portal to Gehenna, one that would likely be overlooked by the rest of the Chosen.
The lonely task suited her well enough, she had always been more comfortable in the wilderness, be it desert or forest, than among other people. The events of the Prophecy had only made things worse, and she was well aware that bitterness and resentment had found a foothold in her heart. She was afraid to be around people, lest they notice and question her faith. She wasn't sure it would endure the scrutiny. Eventually she found her way to the old caverns of the Glade, and refocused her thoughts to the task at hand. It had been delayed long enough. She had communed with the land here before, and the feelings of raw desolation had ensured she had never lingered again. It had been months since then, but now she had no choice but to endure it again. She found the underground river flowing through the shallow caves, and with only a moment of hesitation, waded out into the icy water. She spent several long minutes attuning herself to the elements surrounding her, a resigned sigh brushing the walls of the caves
Her small athame was drawn from it's ornamental sheath, a swift cut made across the palm. Her hands were cupped, allowing her blood to pool. She began a slow chant in celestial, her low, throaty alto echoing in the caverns. As the power gathered, she infused the cupped blood with her senses, before opening her fingers to allow her blood to trickle into the water, mingling her mind with the water, and eventually into the bowels of the earth as the underground stream carried away the crimson power. From there, her consciousness expanded outward, steeled as it can be against the taint of the land. The portal was out there, she knew, and the seer would find it.

A certain priestess, namely one of both Sharessin and Mulhorandi stock, has spent her time in the comfort of home and love with her dragonkin mate Emilly. Often does she visit Djedet, spending time there and speaking with Tari and others though also checking for word on how things are going. It would seem that the time away from the First Cataract has served her well. No longer does she have a haunted look in her eyes. Her smile is normal, quick, and easy.
Salema still worries, however, over what is to come. With nothing delegated to her in terms of aiding in the troubles, she finds herself lost and forcing herself to think of other things. But no one could doubt her resolve to be with her people the moment things come to a head.

The Scrivener of Djedet is seen regularly outside the walls, traveling back and forward from various directions. He often returns with various chalk sketches of ancient runes, and drawings of ruins rather boring stuff to the average man. If he should have spare time, he is often seen with his giant construct outside, conjuring various targets for the men to train against. After a long day, he returns to his makeshift study to rest, or for further study...

While most of the War Knights have returned to their Keep, Warlord could be seen regularly visiting Djedet and inquiring about the current situation. Apparent lack of enemy activity wouldn't do anything to remove almost constant worried look on his face, obviously being pressed with other matters as of late.

An argument with the Sekhry had left Tari spending even more time alone, silently watching the desert sands for the return of her husband to set things right as they should be among the faithful. Even Salema's visits hardly pull her from her funk as she stubbornly waits and watches for Imhotep. The Greater Sphinx, Rashidi, watches over her as he promised, but the usual mischief in his eyes is gone, replaced by gentle concern as he looks down at her from his height, literally standing over her with his own body used to protect her. The Crystal Fey, Zoraida, appears from time to time, but the solemn nature of her mistress is far more then the fey can deal with and she disappears and reappears randomly, talking briefly with Rashidi before she disappears again. Nefertari hardly acknowledges either of them; her only acknowledgement of Rashidi being the occasional leaning against one of his legs in weariness as she stubbornly refuses Salema's attempts to get her to sleep.

The Sekhry spends time trading missives with the Dwarves and meeting with whomever needs. He spends many of his hours training the militia and the guards as well as those from the force that previously went to the First Cataract.
In addition the Sekhry also sends a missive to the Commander of the First Cataract to touch base and to prepare the way to make plans in codecision.
The Chosen of Ma'at are once more called back to Djedet.
OOC: Will set meeting time up, totally at discretion of DMs, lots of people have fall break... So perhaps tomorrow eve.

Sir Jerand Whiterose of the Triadic Knights can be seen regularly in Djedet resuppling at Azizi's stall, garnering copius amounts of heal, haste and ability potions. Azizi never seems to ask him why he is there, but gladly accepts the gold that is offered as payment.
Passerbyers would say that have seen a knight in red and white combing the lands of Brogendenstein and Djedet regularly, sometimes with a rather large man in bright blue, sometimes without.
Weather does not seem to be a factor in his travels, as he's seen equally accustomed to the cold or the heat -- snow and cold, or even the heat of the sun -- reflecting off him in his patrols, unaffected.

//Are we just kinda sweeping this plot under the rug? I would understand if we did as many of the original participants aren't played much. If we are, though, could we get maybe a brief story as to how the issues resolved? At the risk of being a bit whiny, it's a bit difficult to play Talyne without a resolution as she's made it such a huge preoccupation. If the DMs -do- still intend to finish it properly, can I get the results of the divinations done in my first post? My MSN is in my profile if anyone wants my help in wrapping it up.

// This isn't being "swept under the rug". After the loss of MoshingChris, Fabian and I were left with a widely scattered and also massive pile of information to go through. Then, RL decided to jump up and bite Fabian in the rear, leaving him without the ability to continue on with his DM duties at this current time.
So, do bear with us as RL seems to continue to jump up and hinder this plot. As soon as I can get the relevant NPC's I need from Fabian, I should be ready to move forward with this. I was originally planning for tomorrow night, but I think I may have to push this back to early next week (Monday or Tuesday).

// There are certain dev issues that are being completed as I type this. Once these have been completed, the plot will commence. The rough date for this is sometime between Dec. 8th and 15th. As things are finished and complete, this date will be narrowed down to a specific date within that range.
The exact hour of the day has yet to be finalized as well, but will most likely be early evening EST.

I am not available between 8th and 11th. Finals during that period. You can go on without me if needed. Just I need to buckle hard during those days.
