Local Papers in Cordor all have been contacted to distribute a message from the Cordor Council. The Local papers now contain apparent copies of a Letter Intercepted by opperatives of the Cordor Guard.

Quote:
To our still Loyal Friends within the Provisional Offices,

It has been many years since our two great sovereignties traded harmoniously together in Amia's now vast magical market. Montgomery d'Cordor had been our friend and Ally. The island has achieved much past its original roots, no doubt in part to the grand prosperity of the City of Tolerance. The Thayan Empire was extremely pleased in this end.

Unfortunately there were some in your city who took the gifts of our people for granted, namely the untrustworthy and lowly "Peasants" of your city. Combining a few rogue elements in our own enclaves within the city, these unwashed masses worth less than our slaves destroyed all we had worked for. To this end, the Thayan Empire is extremely upset.

The Empire of Thay, inorder to protect the sovereignty of our lands and the health of our people, has every right to issue a declaration of war against the City of Tolerance, but a declaration of war is not the intent of this letter. We cannot stress this enough: a declaration of war would not benefit us. The Red Wizards strongly believed that peaceful means could be used to reclaim our position of power. Montgomery d'Cordor sits at trial for acting in our Interests, and now the commoners are ruling government.

Once again, we come upon great opportunity and even greater fortunes. Thay is willing to forgive previous transgressions from the vulgar rule of this current regime, and aid in reinstating Montgomery d'Cordor, to re-establish our Guild of Foreign Trade Enclaves. To meet our goals, we wish the Law of Sovereignty be applied as soon as possible, which must be respected to an extent for the protection of our personnel.

The Red Wizards of Thay hope that our Influence will once again be felt in your city. To this end, We put our faith in you, our agents within Provisional Government.

The Cordor Guard has launched an official investigation into all government offices, holding formal hearings asking all Employees if they have ever been a Red Wizard, are currently a Red Wizard, and/or are collaberating with or are in contact with a Red Wizard. The Guard promises to release details of any indictments that arise, and keep the process as open and impartial as possible

*A gaunt skeletal minion drags a disjointed leg across the stone floor of an abandoned crypt deep within Ruathym, carrying recent copies of Cordorian newspapers. Past many corridors, the undead comes upon a room with pale lit torches and rusted out laboratory equipment situated over aged wooden tables. Dead animals hang from ceiling on strings draining the blood from their corpses to the ground and filling the air with a morbid stench of decay. Amongst the flickering shadows, a red robed wizard mills over some bubbling beakers before turning towards the approaching skeleton. The Red Wizard growls at skeleton's disruption as it sets down the stack of papers on the table. She waves him off before tracing bloodied fingernails over the recent headlines. As the robed wizard ponders over the bold text, the soft scraping of the dragged bone leg tapers off in the distance.*

Political dogs...So the feeble Cordorians intend to use Thayvian reputation to justify a means to an end. Bah! No matter. This will not delay my plans, not even a grain off the hour. All they have sealed is their fate on my expendability list. Soon the cattle will rise against them and pave way for a better vision!

*Rhalia's palm slams down on the front page, leaving a bloody print. Grasping the pages in her hand she flings them violently behind her, all the while cackling into the dark*

Thayvian Cell Raided:

Authorities, Lead by Sergeant Yance of Cordor's Reconnaissance Service, raided an alleged Thayvian cell near Central Cordor. On an anonymous tip, the authorities conducted a search of the premises of a certain Quincely Samson. There, they reportedly found evidence of a conspiracy to commit sabotage and illegal use of enchantment magics.

"We know that there are more than one of these cells in existence." Said Sergeant Yance this Morning. "The evidence is pretty clear. They're planning on using magic to enthrall unsuspecting citizens into doing their bidding".

Quincely Samson, and four others, were arrested, after a brief struggle. No injuries are reported. Based on the sleeping quarters available, and provisions left, It is believed that at least two Red Wizards have escaped the raid, if not more.

Sergeant Yance has been given Commendations and an 'Outstanding Citizenship through Service' Award by the Provisional Authority for his efforts in conducting the raid.

The Council, taking proactive measures after the recent discovery of the "Thayvian Letters", believes that key members of the Guard and Government may either be the targets of Enchantment by the Thayvians, or may already be compromised. Furthermore, citizens are requested to remain vigilant, and report possible compromised individuals or conspirators to the local Guard.

Rumours abound about Red Wizards in the tavern nearby. In making a journey from tavern to tavern, a single white female elf's ears picks up at the mention of a house raid in central Cordor, tuning into the conversation...After finishing her drink in the far dark corner, under her long hooded cloak, her white eyebrows knit together in deep thought. She gets up and is seen strolling out the door...with a purpose or destination it[/color] would seem...

A pair of Cordorian citizens are seen putting these posters up throughout the city.
