Late one night in Cordor, nearly two hundred people poored into the streets armed with short swords beaten out of plow shares and hatches used for throwing. The threat was quickly put down by an effort between the guard and good willed adventurers. Out of the two hundred rioters present two survived, who committed “Roddification” which involves drinking a special brew that turns urea into a flammable substance than lighting himself on fire.

The other rioter dived into the ocean waters and vanished.

Gossip among the Southern Cordorians is that the adventurers and guards made no attempt at arrest, but instead they slaughtered all but one who surrendered.

Cordor South now is relatively quite, the only remembrance of the riot is ashes and the occasional corpse found in a gutter. Those in the slums go about life as usual. Interestingly enough, hardly any shops were harmed in the riots, the rioters making a point not to light the establishments on fire and the prison was mostly unharmed though it was besieged.

All of Cordor South posters are being put up reading:

Join the Coalition! Away with the adventurers! Down with the supporting guard!

We all saw the South Cordor Massacre last night! We saw the hundreds dead! The adventurers and guards went so far as to poor into homes and kill women and children, saying that they’re potential trouble makers!

The adventurers are nothing but trouble and we want them out!

Roddy, our leader, died for the cause beaten to death by the adventuring guard for giving a peaceful rally. Any, who say otherwise, are adventurering propagandists who want to be as sheep under their heel!

We want peace, we want a city without the dangers of randomly getting fireballed by an insane halfling! Any who are not normal citizens or have any special abilities need to GO! We will take this fight to the duke who supports these dogs if need be!

Join the Coalition! Away with the adventurers! Down with the supporting guard!

*a picture of Roddy is emblazoned here, he looks determined, gaze lifted to the heavens. He looks inspiring.*

*Hunar reads one of these posters and sighs heavily. If he was drunk, he'd cry, but since he's sober, at least till the end of his shift he just covers his face and hits the wall the poster is pinned on with his fist and curses to himself.*

"Bloody hell! This is the last blasted thing we needed! Soon none of the citizens have no more trust on us and they'll all be on us like a wave! *cursing in dwarven, common and Hunarish that may not be suitable for the smallest members of the family*"

Shanna settled the children, making sure they were properly asleep she instructed Luca to stay by their cribs and call her if they woke.

She opened a portal and headed for Cordor, she had arranged to meet Gurth at the Weary Wonderer. Shanna stepped out of the Temple and walked over to the Wonderer, her face lit up into a smile as she caught sight of Gurth. She was just greeting him when Darth arrived. "It seems I'm being framed for murder" was his first words. Gurth and Shanna looked at Darth, "What!" exclaimed Shanna, "who is framing you and who are you supposed to have murdered".

Darth was just starting to explain about the riots that occured earlier in the day when a platoon of guards marched out of the guard house. "You are the one called Darthion" asked one of the guards, "we have instructions to bring you in for questioning". Darth tried to explain that he had nothing to do with the riots, he had fought side by side with the guards to subdue the rioters.

It was'nt long before the Captain of the Guard put in an appearance, after a few seconds of bickering she ordered the guard to "Take down that man". They did'nt need telling twice, they jumped on Darth. Their blades flashed silver as time and time again they attacked Darth.

Shanna could only watch in disbelief as they methodically and in cold blood killed Darth in the middle of Cordor. One of the guards took an arm each and dragged his corpse to the jail.

Shanna hurried back to Tarkuul with Gurth, the Council had to be informed of this incident.

Maran reads the poster and curses angrily. "Those lying bastards! I was there, I bloody saw what they were doin'!" He roars in anger and hatred as his spirit stirs, wanting to taste the blood of his enemies. Angrily, he rips it off of the wall and spits on the image of Roddy. "They better not pull nothin', 'cause I'll make 'em pay for it!" He swears again, then lopes away on all fours to train for the coming day...

Outrider Beldones Meyheu watches from the shadows as a few people pass up the posters, some take time to read some pass it up with disgust, .oO(damn, looks like ma job jus' got a lil' tougher, how am I gonna 'splain this ta tha boss?). he slides in an out of the shadows and suddenly apears before some south cordorian commoners, wearing the same red and black garbs that most of the rioters bore. After hours of questioning about the whereabouts of any remaining rioters he comes up with nothing. .oO(I know this ent over, I gotta keep tryin' 'fore things get outta 'and again) he thinks, before sliping into the warm embrace of a nice lass's shadow.

Sitting at the fireside of his temporary stopover in NeverWinter Metalien recieves news of the riots from a traveling salesman.

Ah, so the city of Cordor is in utter chaos ? he replied.
And how do you know of this ?

I was there m'lord, I arrived just today, I felt it prudent to leave before things got worse, what is your buisness, or lack thereof, with Cordor ? Replied the buisnessman.

Metalien sat for a while, in quiet contemplation with a smirk on his lips.
I was once Guard Captain

The traveling salesman looked at him for a while, shrugged and walked off, seemingly not to keen to press any further questions.
Metalien sat for a few minutes, contemplating what he should do, should he return and help, should he carry on home and see his family.
The choice would take a lot of thought, but he has plenty of time on his hands these days, so why rush it.

Reaching into his pack that rested at his feet Metalien pulled out the bottle that Eary gave him some time back, it was practicly empty now but it still contained a last few gulps of Evermead.
Smiling and thinking Metalien popped the cork and downed the last of the Evermead.

I have a lot to consider here He thought to himself.
And that's just what he did, he sat and thought for many hours.

"Oi?" A curious halfling mutters upon making his pick pocketing rounds in South Cordor and seeing this sign.

"Riot aye?" He muttered looking about and reaching up to tear down the poster.

To be honest, he thought, most o mine gold be coming form these crazy adventurers. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully and then made up his mind.

He gently rubbed his greenish onyx stone and felt the familiar warmth roll over him. He had called one of his informant. It was time he found out who lead this coalition.

A new banner is put up in South Cordor.

Brothers in Arms! True citizens of Cordor! Workers!

In the name of Roddy, I bring you grave news! An adventurer propagandist came to our most resent peaceful demonstration. The demonstrators were going to march to the Duke’s hall and demand that all adventurers leave. Sadly, they were stopped by a horde of barbaric guards who controlled their mind, raping their sanity from them to subdue them! Though this is not the worst travesty to befall us citizens! The adventurer propagandist reportedly turned into a fire beast frightening the demonstrators; causing them to run for their very lives, accidentally hurting a small boy!

The boy was then imprisoned in the “orphanage” after having his legs broken and healed because the adventurers did not want to carry him! I say, this was the adventurer’s plan, to make us hurt the small orphan and put the blame on US! A travesty, these adventurers will go to any length to put down the movement! A movement of peace!

Those captured are now being held in the prisons and reportedly being coerced with magic to remain docile. WE ARE NOT SHEEP! WE ARE MEN! WE WILL NOT BE CONTROLLED WITH MAGIC!

Adventurers! Release any who you have captured or blight will be put on you. We will fight fire with fire! You use your heathen magic; we shall use our own tactics! You may look at the tactics shamefully, but we fight for freedom, we fight for justice. You fight for tyranny!

This is why; we shall bring a non-stop war to you! The citizens will rise up!

Leave and surrender or we declare war! War against you! The attacks will begin if you do all leave in the next ten days and the duke leave the throne so that we may create a democracy!

*a picture of Roddy is emblazoned here, a look of determination present*

The halfling was definatly worried. This was simply getting out of hand. This coalition was going to bring his business down around his ears...

Bloody 'ell, he thought reading over the sign again. Wata un 'alfling ta do.

His informant was hardly useful, he didn't even know there was a coalition.

It hit him like a ton of bricks. They want a war! And how da ya fight a war? With weapons, and magicks. They are a gunna need some magics and arms ta succeed.

He hurriedly brought out his stock list and went about reading some goods that these rebels would enjoy.

Xavi talks to Szuszanna and Jhannine, two of the girls who work the corners of South Cordor. What's going on here, dears? she asks, frowning. I looked for you when the riot started but you weren't here. I went down to the Long and Short and found it barricaded with burning wagons. There were people in there, girls! We had to drag the debris out of the way to get them out. And it wasnt the adventurers or the guards who blocked those doors, darlings, she says emphatically, shaking her head. This was no peaceful gathering. There's something going on here, and it's not what it looks like. Please let me know if you hear anything, hm? She kisses them both and hands each a sack of coins containing several times their usual daily earnings.

Yuri comes across said banner on his way to the mythal forge. Reading about it, he raises an eyebrow, obviously the adventurer propagandist mentioned in the banner.

"I see. Well, this is becoming clearer and clearer... If only people were smart enough to ask that boy what happened... At least there's some truth to it, but not much..."

He then walks along, not particularly returning any hostile glances that may come.

A large man stops to listen to some people discussing the latest banner. He frowns, and scratches his chin.

"These Roddy folk are buzzing like bees around a buggered hive. Adventurer's, eh? I wonder if I'm one of these adventurers. I mean, I been 'ere all me life, but I also wander off te Wharftown a-times. That's a kind of adventure, eh? I'm a citizen of Cordor and all, but is that gonna save me? How by Auril's Kiss are they gonna tell apart an adventurer from a local? Best to just go to Wharftown or Bendir Dale until this all blows over, eh?"

He suddenly stops rubbing his chin and his eyes widen. "Ooh, crikey. Them adventurers are what brings us folk a lot of work. Bugger. I'll be a poor man if they go. Then again, a war means lots of good work for a tinker. Make hay while the sun shines, eh?"

Coming by the most recent poster, an invisible Jud glares at it as he reads it.

That is not at all like how it happened. And where is the mention of the instigator who fled when he made a slip up. How convenient they leave that out. Next time, perhaps the Guard should employ a bard. Our magic is far more subtle and effective than a mass charm spell. Perhaps I should speak to Geyers about this...

He walks off with a sigh, a few plans and ideas running through his mind as he heads towards the Brog boat.

On his way to a random drinking hole in Southern Cordor, Eamon stops to peer at the poster, giving a short laugh as he reads through it.

"Oooh, good thing they forgot 'bout the time th' adventurers made th' orphanage collapse on the kiddos. Not one o' their finer days."

He sniffs and shoots his cuffs, then adjusts the folds of his cloak just so.

"Good thing m'm a bard, not an adventurer, hey?"

He grins and continues on into the night.

*the ten days is moving at the speed of me having time to run another plot*

Some citizens are becoming edgy as the ninth day begins to come to a close and the tenth begins. Rumors abound at what could the possibility be for an attack? Full out conflict? More subtle means? Demon summoning?

The guards are also on much higher alert and on the tenth day the full number of law knights and elite knights as well as nearly every normal guard is in full arms and armor, ready for anything.

New posters are set up in Cordor South

Brethren! True citizens of Cordor! I bring you grave news!

Our ships laden with supplies have been destroyed before they could land at port! We were bringing in foodstuffs and clean water as well as clothing to the needed! Destroyed! All Destroyed by an adventurer! You all heard the explosions, this adventurer launched firebombs at the boats so it couldn’t be shown that we wish the best for citizens of this great town.

Also, by all reports this adventurer sought an audience with one of our leaders and he assassinated him in cold blood! The travesty! Upon learning of the ships laden with supplies he destroyed them all… but one!

This one ship was sent in retaliation by us, The Coalition, for the destruction of these other ships laden with supplies; we destroyed their bridge, quid pro quo brethren!

For now we shall be unrelenting! True citizens of Cordor answer not the calls to support the militia for they guard only adventurers. Some of you may have been part of the militia at one time, fighting the horde, the horde spawned to defeat adventurers who kill their children for sport!

I say unto you my brethren! Take up arms against these aggressors! Now that they have declared war by attacking our supply ships we shall, like a horrible plague, descend upon their necessities!

This nameless evil adventurer of who we speak? We know who he is. He shall know death by our hand! The guard, undoubtedly in his pocket, defends him! So we shall make him answer for his crimes; we shall bring you his head on a pike!

May Roddy's Spirit Be With You

*Hunar leaves a note by one of these posters.*

Hear ye,
The Cordorian Guard is in the city to only to protect and serve the citizens of Cordor. Even if ye didn't like it, the adventurers staying in the city are also protected by the same laws as the normal citizens.

Blowing up the ships was a cowardly act, if they truly were containing food and clothing materials.
Blowing up the bridge as a revenge was stupid towards yer OWN city ye claim to protect, and unnecessary, for the city would've most likely aided the citizens, including ye, with new clothes and food supplies.

The explosion of the supply ships is being investigated and the bomber taken to custody and punished properly as soon as we find out who it is.
But so will the terrorists blowing up the bridge aswell.
Remember, that the Cordorian Guard will deal with everyone compromizing the city or the people protected by it's laws.

*banners put up*

People of Cordor. Listen not to the false propaganda of the guard of those who seek only to protect adventurers! For know this, the guards know who destroyed the supply ship; he assaulted a guard in doing so, but because he is an adventurer they let him go! They let him go free only because he did something to enhance our suffering in the southern ward.

I also bring you grave news; several freedom fighters have been slain! They sought only the removal of guards delving into south cordor to stop the movement, and those same guards perhaps wished to have a repeat of the earlier riots. Do you know why they would do this? So they could kill all those loyal to the cause in one swoop!

Reports state that a woman was captured and tortured, and then repeatedly healed! The travesty! The horror! It is reported that the guards kidnapped her to bring her to a more secure location to torture. The travesty! The horror!

I say people of Cordor, that it is time to of what we’re made! In some time, the most loyal of your number shall march on the duke’s palace and rally to demand the removal of all adventurers! In this we shall use peace and non-aggression, though undoubtedly the guards and adventurers will keep us in our poverty stricken cage of South Cordor. Undoubtedly they shall try to keep us, the loyal citizens of Cordor, out of the “good” side of the city for fear that we shall contaminate it.

In front of the splendor that the adventurers enjoy we shall rally, peacefully, to demand their removal. No weapons will be allowed on this march aside from the weapons of the body guards of our esteemed leader who shall make an appearance.

May the Spirit of Roddy, the martyr be with you always!

In the stifling darkness of South Cordor, a haggard and drained man coughs and hacks as he reads the banner, his body wracked with a violent trembling.
"So," he wheezes, his voice cracked and barely more than a whisper, "perhaps the time has come at last to reveal myself."
Hearing voices approach, he shuffles off hurridly into the night.

These notes are found all over the city, billowing in the wind, and on walls and doors.

Citizens of Cordor!

I’m sure most of you have already heard this dismal tale of betrayal and blood, but I shall give you full details on it! As planned, we marched to the borders of Cordor south to voice our displeasure in an organized and peaceful fashion, but we were stopped at the gate. Originally we thought that it was simply the act of the guard to keep the true citizens of Cordor out of the city proper so that us “rabble” could not dirty it up. We were kept in South Cordor like animals and taunted horribly by all manner of freaks that had full reign of our city.

So we organized in south Cordor, to rally around our esteemed leader, but before he could start his speech two mages of Mystra’s Tower, who were in the crowed, fired a spell at him, killing all the protesters and our leader in a great ball of flame. Why did this mage do this you ask?! Our leader stated, quite peacefully, that all mages need to get out of the city. However, upon saying this, the mages were thrown into a rages and tossed spells at the protesters. Yet the guard protects these mages still, and allows them into the city, they allows the friends of murders into our city! I heard the guards say, with my own ears, that these mages did the city a service by killing off the poor rabble!

Then, the trap was sprung upon us; knowing full well that all the protesters would be in the same place, Cordorian ships fired into the southern part of the city, destroying our homes and killing hundred of people. We are still counting the dead brothers and sisters the total is well above five hundred, men, women, and children. The crews of the ships have been given pardon by the duke himself in a secret meeting; no one is safe!

Peace has failed us! We have only the sword to swear by now! Rise up brothers! Rise up! Fight these people from wherever they may come, fight them to the last breath! Fight, and only take peace at either victory or death!

May Roddy, the Martyr’s spirit be with you brothers and sisters. Fight on! Fight on! It is only a matter of time before the guards and adventurers begin to attack the rich citizens as well.

This week saw an attack by adventurers upon the city of South Cordor. Witnesses said that an elven mage and a somwhat stockier warrior type were seen bombarding Cordor Prison with explosives. The mage was too highly enchanted for any coherent discription to be given, but the warrior was saud to be wearing silver plate and a blue cloak with a prominent symbol of Torm on the back. With tensions already running high between the commoners and the adventurers, who knows what the result of these latest hostilities might be.

*Corbis walks in to cordor after a long travel up in the mountains of Skull Crags .....*

Ahhhhhh ....*breathes the Cordorian air* Tis good to be back again

*Weary from his travels he heads to the closet tavern he can find ... When walks in he gets a few glances here and there, Some of which are disgust .... Corbis can only assume that it is because of the Troll head that he was carrying underneath his arm. He halls his stuff to the bar and sets it beside him, making sure to keep a close eye on it, having to many bad experiences before with theiving*

So, barkeep ... what has been happening of late

*recieves a strange and shocked look from the man behind the bar*
Happenings of late! Oi, you've got to be joking. You haven't heard?

Apparently not ... tell me this news

Riots have been abreaking out these southern parts of town

Yes, I know .....*remebers the horrors of the blood shed of his fellow citizens and shivers in disgust*I was there ......

Oi ... tis getting worse .... ye can spot posters of rallying and bringing war!

WHAT! *as Corbis yelled all seemed to turn around and stare at him long and eerily... The barkeep waited until everyone went back to their business, then whispered viciously as he siad it through gritted teeth*
Keep it down! ........... Say peace they were talkin' bout .. brought no harm to anyone until the guard and adventurers started it

That is bull!*He whispered just as viciously as the bar keep*

Dont tell me ... I know nothing bout it personally, just what I've been told ....

*Corbis pondered some more outraged at this idea ... Thinking what he could he do .... Clueless for now he gets up and pulls a small bag of coins from his person. Making sure no one was looking, now understanding the discontented looks, he drops the small purse behind the barThanks old man ..... I hope to see things better soon.

*the barkeep nods his head towards Corbis in recognition*

*Picking up his stuff he walks out and wanders around town before going to sell his items collected over the weeks. Corbis began to ponder what was so posssibly terrible that it makes them discontented with the guard and adventurers ... *What is this coming to .. how many more lives will be lost over this .....

A few posters are set up near the rioter´s posters

Good Citizens of Cordor
Unidentified Rioters
Unidentified Rioter leader

The insatisfaction manifested by the rioters is of great concern if it holds any truth. But it does not give them the right to act violently against other citizens. This can all be solved peacefully.

Just barely after getting back from the main land Unulith stumbles apon one of these notes in the trash barrel. The first time reading it, he doesn't no what to make of it, so he reads it four more times. After that beaming Unulith whispers to himself, "By the Gods it seems I came back at the right time."

Three beautifully made posters are up in South Corder, in the marketplace. They are emblazoned at the top in red-coloured ink, and the rest of it is in black. The writing is beautiful; obviously done by an artist.. and a perfectionist. (( a bard.. not the highest level.. but it's not the most amazing thing to make posters.. lol )) Estara did not attempt to hide herself putting up these posters, so if anyone was watching, they would know her exact description, and it would not be hard to find out her name or where she stays. (( PM me if followed or anything.. or ask someone in-game she knows, etc.. ))

Attention to all South Cordorians!

Your leader is very inspirational, and illustrates some wonderful ideas in his preaching. However, how many of you think that the way to solve a problem is through violence? Not I. I have not been in Cordor long, I admit that, but in my short experience here I have seen too many overreactions turn into bloodshed. I have seen too many pointless struggles which accomplish nothing but to fuel the emotions of hatred, anger, and frustration on both sides. I am only here to say that violence is not the answer. There are other, more peaceful ways of retaliation and protestation. I would encourage citizens to tell every guard they see what they think of the problems in the city of Cordor, I would encourage citizens to send letters to the Duke of the problems in the city, and I would finally encourage citizens to think for themselves; what way can I solve these problems without turning to bloodshed?

My last approach to this situation is to advise your leaders to use their diplomatic skills in the writing of a comprehensible and sensible long-lasting solution to this problem. It could be put on the Tablets of Law, a way for all citizens and adventurers alike to enjoy one another's company.

A friend of citizens and adventurers alike,

Estara

Walking through the streets in the southern parts of town, one rainy evening, Blake comes acros one of these big posters.. He reads it carefully, sensing an opprtunity.

Violence, indeed not an answer. But maybe, a little constructed mayhem will leave other openings and opportunities..

He then pulls his cloak low over his face, shielding him further from the rain.. Pondering over things, he slowly stalks the streets of Cordor.. Every now and then, a smile flashes deep with-in the hood and his green eyes are starting to shine..

"This is just my chance to get my name..."

OOC: I got some cool ideas for further plot development here, involving both pickpockets, guards, thugs and the occasional priest of a not-so-good church.. Any DM willing to run some city events involving a great deal roleplaying from a lowlevel rouge and whoever I can dig up, PM me.. Being new here, I really don't know which DM is best to call upon for an event like this. Any other players interested in this should also PM me for ideas and such. I mean ALL, good or evil, lawful or not, lowlevel or epic, I can surely find a place for you in this if you want to.. But I cannot run along with this some of my ideas would have to be supervised by a DM as it involves pickpocketing the guards to get a hold of something specific and even rendering one or two of them unconcious to get a hold of their uniforms.. But oh will you like the ideas I have for this..
