Bards which maintain an active interest in folklore and stories, or guards of Cordor would hear the following tale circulating around as part of the somewhat frequent warnings about the wisps just outside the city:

A peasant travelling home along at dusk spots a bright light moving along ahead of him. Upon looking closer, he finds that the light is a lantern held by a "dusky little figure" which he proceeds to follow for several miles.

Abruptly, at the end of this chase he finds himself standing on the edge of a vast chasm with a roaring torrent of water rushing down below him. At that precise moment the lantern carrier leaps across the gap, lifting the light high over its head while letting out a malicious laugh. He blows out the light and leaves the poor man a long way from home, standing in pitch darkness at the edge of a precipice.

The peasant returns without harm, to tell his story to a few regulars in the Weary Wanderer.

// As I am busy over the holidays but will be resuming this plot afterwards, if anyone whom was involved in it would like to add a post that would be appreciated.
