In the mines of Barak Tungstuk, work on cold iron alloy continues. Original formula didn't yeild necessary results - alloy would decay and brittle in the matter of hours after cooling off. In order to prevent or at least delay this decay to more acceptable time frame - days, possibly weeks or even months - new formula is devised - interesting composition of cold iron, mithral and mercury. Malatril and Foilinar work tirelessly, stopping only for small breaks to eat and recuperate. Heating system of the forge is completely repaired, so no magical intervention is longer necessary. Process is still long - mithral adding additional melting procedure, but first batch of alloy is completed. While they wait for alloy to cool (and test it), Usha joins the overworked duo, and they sit to discuss further steps in the case alloy succeeds...

*A reminder to the Samantha of the resistance is left by Father Darian.* Miss Lockeheart, I must stress the importance that you get your people assembled to take out the Shrine of the Dark Lord of Undeath. His bindings to our world must be severed before this entire island becomes part of his domain, and possible spread across all of Rauthym... and then gods knows...
The Asylum is ready to evacuate people the Shadowflame Fort and join their guards. It may prove a much safer and defensible location for the innocent and young.
~Father Darian //Hope to do this this weekend. Saturday or Sunday @ ~ Noon PST (GMT -7)

Two great battles rocked the very foundations of Caraigh itself during the night. One, lead by the forces of good, and the other lead by the minions of evil. The demons of Orcus were pressed back on both fronts with different results...
From Aigheshed, a red blur took to the sky. At the Asylum, a Mad Mage took his prize. For a moment, all was eerily... calm. That's when it happened. The entire island of Caraigh quaked as magic ripped through the land itself. Darkness converged on the Keep of Blackmoor, and the air around it ripped apart as negative energy poured forth in unstable explosions. The forces of good and evil once again met on this chaotic battlefield; a hulking demon watching the show from atop the keep.
Finally everything went quiet... then the Keep imploded upon itself. The survivors of the battle could only watch in awe and horror alike as the dreaded structure disappeared from view. The darkness cleared and those left standing tended to the dead on both sides.
Now Caraigh is quiet once more, the demons and undead reduced in population to nothing but the lesser variety. Perhaps a few stragglers of the Champion's army wander the wilds, but they do not make themselves known. The war seems to have ended, but it has certainly taken its toll.
The isle's wildlife has been obliterated, nothing but swarms of blight-crazed birds and canine scavengers remaining. The trees themselves droop in a sickly state, and the grass is disturbed by patches of lifeless mud. Those who survive take the time to rebuild what they can, tending to those who are wounded and preparing their supplies for the time to come.
The isle is now a clean slate to be molded. It is unknown what lies ahead. Ceyren's Mill still stands in silence, and now a lake is missing its keep. There is one question yet to be answered, however...
"Who won?"

Samantha would watch as the nights battles played out, true to her belief in the ways of the Spellsword, she was not in it for the glory. No, her part in the great battles was a small one. Now as she stood looking at what had become of Caraigh she knew that her work had only begun. There were people to bring home, fields and animals to tend, bodies to clean up, lives to mend.
Diligence and persistence were what she would need now.
She watched and waited for the survivors to return...

The Black Knight stands looking over the lands of Caraigh. These once lush, green lands now dying and dark. The Dark Master has not been defeated. Only made stronger. His survival accounts for this. Caraigh would be remade into a land suitable for the forces of darkness. With these things in mind, the Black Knight of Orcus turned and head back to his camp.

Vinasis draped his cowl about him as he stares sitting across the sight of the broken keep. He whispers to himself in a dark toungue. Deep in thought for the first time since the blighted war he had felt a mixture of confusion and insight. The most important thing remained from the whole thing. 'Fear was brought to bear upon the forces of light, suffering was brought to bear, and power was gained.'
"Power was gained" he thought to himself, the echoes of his father voice haunting him from within. Shaking his head, Vinasis stood up and walked down the vile path of perdition set before him.

*Shortly after the large battle, and after the cleaning of the aftermath, an assortment of Asylum defenders have pushed into Ceyren's Mill, taking and holding the perimeter. They chase out various Cultists who use the Mythal Crystal Leyline to enter.
The force is sizable and well equipped for creating a small forward operating point.
Using the chaos and confusion from the battle, as well as the withdrawal and even involvement of some of the opportunists that took residence in the Mill, the Dawnmaster quickly assembled a team to take and hold the Mill.*

//If its anything outrageous, it can be edited and removed. It was more a statement that some Defenders were at the Mill. There's no sign of ownership. It was more a statement that we're there again.
Again, if its any issue, it can be removed with little to no consequence. I'm not trying to tread on feet.

"Who won?" Shadow was great in the way it ended, making it as a cliffhanger as of such. Posting another action by a particular player group to 'seem' taking the fight further into an advantage for that group without dm approval, is uncalled for. No need to be removed. I'm sure the DM would be the best person to advise regarding this and what should be done.

Word spreads through the camp of the resistance then out to the brave souls that stood guard these many weeks....
"They are going back to the mill tomorrow. They are going to back to rebuild and to make it safer than before! They are going to bring the people home soon!"
Samantha stops to speak to any she sees. We move to Ceyren's Mill Tomorrow, the palisade has stood almost complete these past weeks, it is time to finish it, repair the damage done to the homes, train new guards, replant the fields.

Word spreads amongst the cultists and thugs recruited for the cause of the darkness. "Tomorrow we take the Mill, we are going to use it as our bastion against the light. We already have attracted the sultry crew of shady denizens that frequent the bar. Winning over the hearts of the people are not going to be a problem when we bring the finest of drink and most morally questionabble entertainment ever! That and we have the most amazing women!

Lilith can be seen strolling around the mill or Sitting comfortably and relaxed on the bridge watching the water pass below her. Would any approach silently or spy on her it appears as though she is in constant conversation with herself. Often shaking her head or nodding seemingly in response to silent questions.

:: o/'He had fulfilled the promise to Samantha Lockheart. After leading the charge against Aigheshed and the cultitsts, he soon departed. There was an unspoken finality this time. It was no secret he had been long dissatisfied with the lacking insight things were being done by those in charge, that many acted like animals that jumped each other's throats to try to push themselves up in the hierarchy or to promote their own personal agendas, and the insults father Darian spoke against his person after the many sacrifices and deeds he had done for the people. Such conduct was beneath him, and he had been more than generous to grace them for this long, even without their amount of shortcomings and personal politics that had given him every reason to leave. Twigs like talons scratched against his heavy plate armor and an icy breeze made the skeletal limbs of the trees shiver. As he passed through Dormwood, his gaze moved upon the cliff in the distance where the dark shape of Seeamros stood. He had been a most formidable enemy, and sir Robert had no intention to speak ill of that man, for the respect of his prowess was great, and for Mathan and Cecila. The wounds he bore from their last encounter were testimony of this. Perhaps he would meet them again, but it seemed his role upon Caraigh has ended. Lord Blackmoor was dead, and with that his task to the lady Siamorphe here was completed. He did regret that it was not him who had orchestrated the end of the tyrant. With that sir Robert gave a nod to the black armored champion in the distance and made his way to the port. ::

Music.Observing the Aftermath of Caraighs many battles. Stood merely in the shadows, quietly observing from beneath his enshadowed hood. He watches Robert leave. A sense of relief, but also disappointment, that the only person to of challanged the Necromaster in matters of mind, and tactics.. is departing. Now understanding that Caraigh would be much easier to take, but lacking in mental challange, the Necromaster seemed both delighted, and disheartend, that the heart and soul, and only foe, worthy of single attention from the forces of Evil, had been pushed away by his unworthy comrades.

The Black Knight focused his gaze upon the shape of the former Baron passing trough the dead forested landscape below. He merely stood in silence and watched the great knight pass. Seeing the knight nod his head towards him, the Black Knight remained still and merely continued to watch the knight leave towards the port. Once Sir Robert was out of sight the Black Knight inclined his head in the direction he had left. What was on his mind at the time no one would know except Seaamros himself.

As Foilinar watches Robert leave his heart sinks, He knew that from that moment onwards any kind of organisation or tactics had just sailed away. Caraigh would soon fall if no one takes teh nobles place, and Foilinar was not the one to take it, he departs fro Tungstuk, to check with Malatril about the Alloy.

James had slipped away with his sister in the lull afterwards.
The collar had been removed, finally, and Natia's mind was completely her own.
Now, in the dark of the night, in his bed at the inn, James rested easier then he had in a long time.
Before falling into slumber, James wondered if those of the "light" who had embraced foul and despicable practices would rest as easy.
Sleep while you can. You've created a nightmare, my fellows. Your gods may have turned a blind eye, but the eye of Talon is rapt upon you.
In the dark, a low rumbling chuckle, tinged with madness...

Tyrus was.... conflicted.
He had heard of the Caraigh events, word having traveled as it always does, and so he returned there to witness things firsthand. He took the fishing boat from Wiltun, not wishing to portal directly to the Mill and possibly into a trap, and he made the slow journey through the tainted forests. THe toll was clear to his eyes, though it was not of much concern to him. He passed through with invisibility and other enchantments, a store-bought summoned spider following in his wake to clear the various crows and undead that roamed free.
Blackmoor Castle was indeed gone, and surprising sight to his eyes as he took in the empty lake and smashed bridge. Wanting to further survey the aftermath, he continued to the Mill. Nothing was found, at first, and he took a brief journey through the little gate he had not strode through before. On returning with a cursed ring, he stumbled across Lilith and another. A body at their feet, he didn't concern himself with it immediately, he knew not who it was. Onward he continued, the Asylum next to both see what was about and to inform anyone there of the palemaster sighting.
The camp was a sorry sight, not a single person in sight. Had they thought they had won? Who really had won? In either case, guards should have been there. But no matter, it was not his concern anymore.
And so it was that he left the land of Caraigh again. Dread purpose still filled his heart, and he knew at least that, whatever the outcome of the earlier battle, one thing was far from over.

A day and a night in Ceyren's Mill sees several members of the resistance hard at work. With no local people there some resort to what would seem extrordinary measures in order to complete the work that is needed. Mamoth bears, angelic warriors, golems and dragons are seen either standing guard or moving the heavy materials needed to complete the repairs and construction.
Several people are challanged at the crystal node and either welcomed or turned away, though no fighting breaks out.
Diligance, persistance and consitancy are the new tools put to work.

Those of the Glade had gathered to mourn in the aftermath. Those who were sensitive to the land would have shuddered, others would have wept and still others raged in silence or aloud. Others felt a weight of the heart and still others could not put words to their own emotions.
Each looked towards the toppled stones and destroyed trees of the ancient shrine and each of them mourned in their hearts of what was lost.
For one of them, the smallest, there was a pain unexpected and heavy as the wealth of memories moved through her which had been created in that most sacred place.

Another day fades into night, and Samantha relies heavily on her new tools: diligence, consistance and persistance.
She works long hours dragging debris to the trash bins, cleaning the grounds. Bodies that littered the ground fare to long are gathered up and wrapped... prepaired for a proper burial.
The Mill might even begin to take on its former peaceful look... perhaps.

Somewhere behind Robert as he passed through Dormwood, twigs snapped.
He was being followed, not by a natural sneak but a clumsy mage under a blanket of invisibility... She remained far behind with no intent to approach or stop him, but she merely lurked further back and split off for her own separate way when he neared civilization.
Later on, she would return in that direction with little more than a handful of her own possessions in a temporary trip, to tail him.

Another day passes... perhaps it is two or three with no sighting of Samantha. What has happened to her consistency, her diligence, her persistence?
Who is there to complete the palisade? Do the logs sit idly, ready to be planted in the ground?
Perhaps there are questions asked among the crowd at Shadowflame manor.... When are we going home? Are the repairs complete yet?
And where is Samantha, has she not sent word at least?

Lord Cory Shadowflame seems to be remaining in his tower with the people of the Mill.
Cory would be making sure they are comfortable and they are aware they have access to all the facilities the tower has to offer ranging from the Library, the small lecture/classroom for the younger people of the mill and the Combat Training rooms that he seems to try to bring up as offen as he can ontop of offereing to help them train, even if its as a stand in for target dummy.

After the apparent defeat on Caraigh the palisades around Aigheshed were adorned with new monuments, all unique, yet similar to the one that might have been found at the old druidic shrine to the north directly after the great battle.
They greet all that would dare to approach the borders of Aigheshed, soaring 10 feet tall and with the lifeless eyes of a bull's skull that seem to eye the step of every intrudor varily.
Yes, the cultists are restless and vigilant... the flames of Aigheshed burn as bright as ever.

Inspecting the battlegrounds and most of the isle of Caraigh, on which the battle has taken place, E'dalar helps to tidy up Ceyren's Mill a bit. Most of his time he patrols the city, spending time watching whomever comes and goes, asking people passing by if they would lend a hand in watching the town while it is slowly being rebuilt. He and his familiar would be very mindful of people entering the town.

Skye Saikoro shakes some sand of her boots with a disgruntled groan after returning to the Caraigh Mill tavern by portal. She drags a wooden crate filled with glass bottles into the back room of the tavern and unloads the products into the chest. After completing her task Skye slinks to the tavern doorway and peers outside for several moments, seemingly watching for someone; however, the village seems empty as usual, aside for an occasional brave adventurer wandering through.
With the moon high in the sky and no customers or troublemakers to be seen on the horizon she returns inside. Skye enters the back room, tromps down the stairwell, sits herself in a wooden chair opposite a pasty-faced man. She lays down a bit of parchment on the table before her and gives the description of four persons before the man departs with a nod.
The tavern employees led by Skye and Watari continue serving food and drink to the brave customers who venture to the Mill. As such, business continues as normal.

Ceyren's Mill remains as open territory, with no group successfully taking a solid hold. Shadowflame Manor, however, seems to have become quite active as of late. After seeing first hand what the demons (and adventurers) had done to their homeland, a fair portion of the refugees have asked the Asylum Wardens for aid. The aid they seek, surprisingly enough, is training. Men and women alike are matched up with the surviving guardians as they begin their education. It will no doubt take some time, but the locals of Caraigh are finally wanting to fight their own battles.

What movements and effort came from the Glade were not near the Mill itself save for one or two who might pass through to get to other parts of the isle. Instead, various members were taking stock of the damage in the land, seeing what animals could be found and which could be saved if at all. Many parts of the isle were searched to make careful notes of the disturbed behaviors of any of the creatures met.
In the cavern, a strange sight of a carcass eater being studied non-intrusively would meet some who might chance upon it when entering the Glade's home without forewarning. A carefully marked in notebook would detail attempts to see if a herbal remedy could be found for the animal as well as sketched maps highlighting sightings of others of its kind and the unchanged wolves.
In a corner of the cavern, a large bucket would be filled with melting ice. The bucket containing a ladle and some empty water skins nearby. Potted plants lined one of the back walls, each carefully marked with various soils from various parts of the isle with seeds of some native and foreign flora planted well to see if any would grow.
The few animals remaining in hiding were looked for and watched but not intruded upon if any were found. Only carefully counted and then departed from with a notation made upon a map which was carried back to the cavern and a much larger one updated.
The local pig farmer was approached concerning the purchase of a few pigs for food. The fisherman and his wife outside of Wiltun keep for any fish innards or remains from their sales as well as any that were too old to sell. If gained, the fish was taken away by portal and added to a separate composting pile, the location of which being undisclosed at the moment.
Subtle activities were still ongoing.

An unkown force would do it's best to remove as many notices as possible along their travels.

It started with a message, a plea from a leader beset with a task indescribable in it's immensity. A plea which sparked a notion, a whim if you will, in the mind of a man who thought the war was behind him. A man who had washed his hands of the plight that had taken that far away island. That notion pulled upon the back of his conscious and subconscious mind as the days went past, slowly solidifying into a thought which resonating against the man's core. As he was used to over the long years, he kept it to himself, mulling it over in bed next to his sleeping fiancee, feigning sleep for those moments.
Should he?
Should he not?
Would he?
Would he not?
Then a chance meeting, one which some might chalk up to fate, where a simple question from an enigmatic woman was posed to him: Caraigh. Where do you stand?
And so what had started as a message which gave birth to a whimsical notion that evolved into a fully-fledged idea came colliding in his forebrain with a question, who's intent was not what had occurred, in a sudden intense moment, though only he was aware. The man, whom none that knew him would recognize, answered with unreserved honesty: I stand against those that seek to destroy the land that it once was. Against those that seek to defile it. He knew, for the woman before him was an unknown to him, it was possible that truth would bring about conflict, possibly his death, but that would not cause him to shy from it.
From plea to spark to thought to sudden, unshakable decision; that is the path of this tale. The tale of a man still seeking himself through the years of clandestine living which had shrouded his life. A man who, for naught but the love of one woman, would perhaps be in a very dissimilar position today.
The search for Samantha began.

A rare sight, but sir Robert was seen in Ceyren's Mill and the Lighthouse not long ago. Adorned in his heavy plate mail, his cloak held together with a chain running between two broaches, one displaying the symbol of Siamorphe and the other of the Lord Firemane, he takes his leave towards the port. Accompanied by Metalien, their expressions seem to be clearly of anything but delight as they departed.
House Caris-Denoix has been distancing itself from the cause of Caraigh very strongly after the meeting in the home of Eldaina, and now shut down support fully three days later. After the military aid that has been withdrawn with the departure of sir Robert after the destruction of Blackmoor Keep, now the political and economic that had continued to grace them has also seized, as well as the official offer for military support if at any time required.
The usual policy of no public clarification or reason is employed by the house at this time, as well as showing a cold shoulder to any rumors, slander or supportive explanation to the decision. There is no attempt to boycott or weaken the support from others, but it is clear that he no longer stands behind them.
A peculiar step from the man that has successfully urged the Glade to return to help the defense before the destruction of the keep and has usually always spoken for unity, and one likely founded on a grave reason.

Metalien Aerman-Sikth, Junior to his friends, walks along behind Robert with a face that could kill, he's clearly upset about something and he frequently curses and mentions the words "heresy" and "fools".
Three days later and he's still not in a changed frame of mind. He spends most of his free time out working on his martial skills to try and channel his anger into something useful.

Men of the Eternal Order have been seen patrolling graveyards, including the one by Ceyren's Mill. They speak little to outsiders however.

Shadows of nature dwellers, clad in the most uncommon of clothing, bones and bark, cowls that hide feral eyes watch the mill from afar. Hidden amongst the forest trees. The Malarites know that the blight is to be stemmed, balance must be upheld at all costs. The petty infighting of the civilised folk is made known to them. Together they are a pack, unified in purpose and guided by a weavers wisdom they return back to the hunt for abominations in the forests ... allowing the civilised fools to grow fat in their distrust and petty ramblings, they know they have a greater purpose for being here.

Actively visiting the bulletin boards of many cities, E'dalar offers to help Samantha place posters around the country and making sure they are seen. He would spread the news by word as well, when seeing ablebodied people. Giving directions to Ceyren's Mill to those interested, he finishes his conversations with "The Helping Hand guide you.." and continues his travels.

The man known as Damian, who is seen near Ceyren's Mill rather frequently appears to no longer frequent that spot, nor anywhere else in Ruathym.

Irene metrick is often seen around Caraigh. She has her work cut out for her, quite busy. Though when not attending scrivener workings, or her other work. She has been trying to find a fellow wizard named Damian who she has not seen for sometime. Usually she is searching about Caraigh so far. Carefully.

A jar was left on a flat rock near the crystal in the Mill. It is filled with what seems to be a red, chunky jelly-like substance, the glass itself is smeared with blood and one might spot the one or the other tooth, fingers and lots of strange ashen-coloured strings and hair inside the jar... whoever left this present, he probably intended to warn the rangers and adventurers that visit the bloody battlefield of Ceyren's Mill or simply fancies macabre jokes.

The jar collects a rather varied assortment of flies. There's one now. Why yes, it could be that the majestic and rare fey winged blue snout is taking an interest in the chunky contents. Oh, no...it's just a common housefly.
After a full day and night of gathering local scavengers, the contents would have abruptly darkened and began to dry until the glass was filled with a few remains and ash. The glass was streaked over where the grey strands or strings had been, the same marking the stone it had been set at.
Another day passes and the jar is collected by a robed figure before furtively being taken away.

There is a strange murmur in the wind. It was soft at first but like a spark, was growing more often heard as weary defenders stood vigilant against an ever increasing horde and the tides of 'good' washed away into the seas of bickering indifference.
"....burn it all......nothing left...."
"..not our place....empty....."
"..leave 'em nuttin' to want.......s'what I say."
"....give no ground.....leave it bare......fire."
"Destroy now..........can rebuild......"
"They ain't here! .....our blood, our decision!"
Little moths circle the embers, trying to quench some but everyone knows that moths and flame end in death.

Several of the remaining defenders at the Mill managed to gain entry into Sliverkins home or base located in the building next to the juice press. Though they could not find Sliverkin and after a short discussion it was decided an attempt at levelling the building to prevent further use by the cultists. Sylae (Gwelaine) weakened the interior of the building by using acid fog to damage the support beams then most of the defenders left the building while Joss unleashed a few earthquake spells and quickly ran out in hopes the building would crumble.
