Morribund Isle. A strange fog covered the bay between the Island and Cordor. A strong breeze blew the mists away, and the magical concealment subsided. A ship was seen sailing away from the Island. Morribund itself was pocketed with magical fire scorches and litered with several bodies of men wearing "Kestrel Enterprises" uniforms. A battle had taken place there, which the men of the Kestrel seemed to have lost...
Later that day, a Formal Proclomation, Signed by the Duke of Cordor, and delivered to the people as an announcement:
=A Declaration of a state of Hostility between the City-State of Cordor and a certain "Kestrel Enterprises" and its Owner, Horatio Emrys=
"Articles of Crimes against the City and the Island, warranting Military engagement of a Private Corporation and all its affiliates:
A) Intelligence Services indicate use of their company's funds to aid and abet Corsairs in engagements against Uhm, and Cordorian Personnel.
B) It is believed that company employees personally ambushed a relief force sent by the Duke to aid Uhm against the Corsairs. Evidence of this charge is in their continued operations near the gulf of Lumorir, and the evidence collected at the scene of the attack on the 18th regulars platoon.
C) For massing armed forces on the Isle, with the intent assault against the population.
D) For engaging Cordorian Guards in an act of War, a sea-borne assault against Morribund Isle and against Guardsmen present working on an investigation. Several were killed in the line of duty by this final and inexcusible act of hostility.
These hostile maneuvers, along with illegitimate and illegal business activity warrant the company’s immediate exile from the city, siezure of all assets, and all members and affiliates of Kestrel Enterprises to be deemed enemies of the State. "
Signed this day;
Duke Montgomery D’Cordor

*As Hunar hears the news he cheers loudly with the dwarves around him cheering as loud as he.
He then goes to the library to write an official letter and chuckles and mumbles something like "Now that arse's in a big trouble..."*

*a sealed letter delivered by Speedy's Courier Service arrives at the Duke's Hall, addressed to the Duke or his Intelligence advisors*
Greetings, your Grace,
I have heard your recent announcement concerning Kestrel Enterprises, and I've some rather disturbing rumors to report. According to one of my sources, K.E. is employing a group of mages to either summon, create, or awaken the legendary beast known as the Tarrasque. I don't suppose I'd have to tell you what that might lead to.... In any case, I'll be seeking more information on K.E.'s plans, and will communicate it to you. As always, I stand ready to defend Cordor at your order in the role of Militia Commander.
Sincerely,
Cmdr. Jud'Vardas Kenlyl, Cordor Militia.
*The bottom of the letter bears Jud's personal crest: a blue katana crossed with a green bastard sword, over a silver moon.*

*Savannah hears about the Dukes resolution and smiles to herself, thinking about her part in this. She sends a note to Phenwick thanking him for the offer to protect her and her daughter, but at least for the time being, declines as other arrangements have already been made. She also reiterates her willingness to testify all that she knows about horatio, Murdoc and Kestral Enterprises.
She wonders if there is more she can do to hinder Horatio and jots down a quick note. "Why did you leave me to die in Morribund? I was able to convince Phenwick that i was really just trying to help him, but i do not know how long they will believe me." She gives the note to speedies to deliver to Kestral offices. Knowing this could backfire she again makes arrangements for her daughter.
She then heads to the forest area between Winya and Uhm to look for signs of the beast. Not to fight it ....... but to let its location be known.*

Metalien Junior hasn't been seen on Amia for quite some time, rumours among the Guards spread that he bolted form the island after stealing a Diamond that Kestrel Enterprises wanted, quite what happened to that Diamond and where he is, nobody knows except him and Duke Monty.

Over the course of the next few weeks, Several guard raids on offices within the City of Cordor have all but outed every single employee of Kestrel Enterprises within the city. Many of their assets have been frozen or seized by the guard.
A few members of this company have been arrested and charged with high crimes and misdemeanors, namely, an "Alexi Armitige", said to be the chief officer of Archeology: Charged with Financing Kestrel Enterprises and Laundering Stolen Property. Other less important affiliates are simply banished from the city on association and aiding and abetting claims.
Kestrel Enterprise Stock Plummets, to negligible value. Whichever assets have not been seized are located outside of Cordor. Virtually all "official" company activity has ceased on the Island of Amia. Relative "Calm" ensues, For now...

*upon hearing about the arrests, Savannah, along with another, develope a plan. A plan to get in tight with kestral, get to their island, and hopefully find a way to stop him for good. They take their plan to Phenwick and present it to him, asking him to relay it to the Duke as it will require his cooperation. After a long wait, and no word from Phenwick, they worry that his tragedy has prevented him from talking to the Duke, so Savannah delivers a letter to the Dukes clerk herself. She was hoping for Phenwicks help, but knew that after what happened to wife and home ....... well she understood.*
*The letter simply states that she and another have a plan to get back inside kestral enterprises and would like to meet with the Duke to discuss it. She has also overheard some information that may help to cover up their plan, and word that she can be reached through the five steps academy in shadowscape.
signed Savannah*

The news outlets and criers are reporting an incendiary attack against the Duke's Hall earlier this morning. The captain of the Guard has yet to make an official statement, but rumors are that it could be the work of Kestrel Enterprises saboteurs. No one has officially taken responsibility for the attack that left many houses on fire, several citizens wounded, and did some damage to the Masonry of the palace.
The guard has stepped up its watch and patrols of the river have increased, regardless.

Captain Aerman releases a short announcement regarding the recent incendery attack on the Duke's Hall.
Ladies and Gentlemen of Cordor,
It is indeed true that a recent attack on the Duke's hall took place, men dressed in dark clothing, believed to be Red and Black, set off a number of explosive devices behind the Duke's hall.
The exact reason for this is unknown and is currently being investigated, rest assured that the Cordor Guard will do all they can to get to the bottom of this situation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
It is highly suspected that "Kestrel Enterprises" are directly responcible for the attack, however pending analysis of fragments of containers and explosive residue collected this can not be verified.
Please be alert for anything suspitous, especialy around the Duke's hall, if you see someone acting shadey who could be deemed a threat please find a Guard immediately, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES APPROACH THESE PEOPLE, vigilant eyes and the help of the public will ensure that this sort of incident will remain as rare as it is.
Many thanks to all that were present during this recent attack, more specificly:
Saris, who's selfless act of rowing a boat laden with explosives to a safe distance before nearly getting blown to pieces.
Bognar Geberr, who's dedication to the art of healing prevented many deaths due to burns and other injuries.
Arlen and Bardac, for thier vigilance and attention to detail.
Krin Shadowflame, for approaching the perpetrators and attempting to deal with them and by putting his own life on the line to try to save innocent lives.
These sort of acts makes this city great and everyone present in the city that day owes them all a great debt of gratitude.
Sincerely yours.
Captain Metalien Aerman

Vine walks by the notice and upon reading it several times becomes quite nervous. He looks down at his own pure black clothing and in a mirror looks at his hood. He was certain this would have ramifications for him. He quickly checks his supply of invisibility potion and gulps one down. He has to stay out of the public view now...at least for the time being.

*Savannah hears of the attempt on the Dukes Hall and jots down a quick note that she personally hands to the clerk*
Dear Duke, your highness, sir
The boldness of Kestral grows, they must be nearing completion of their beast. As we all know, if this happens, we are all doomed.
Please allow Marj and I to get with your guard and put our plan in action. We have many -talented- folk at the ready. Time is most certainly against us.
We await your word.
Sincerely,
Savannah

An official news article:
"Citizens are allowed to return to their homes in West Cordor after Arsonists and Saboteurs, alledgedly from Kestrel Enterprises, started several fires during a hit-and-run engagement. Agents from the company were sighted throwing fire-bottles onto thatched roof houses in attempt to cause panic amongst the local populace. The Guard and local heroes, were quick to respond, however, and foiled their plans by preventing them from causing further damage. A well-organized evacuation of the western districts took place, aided by guard and several civillian leaders. Fire damage to the western district is seen as nominal, and though some unknown number of fatalities are reported, the number is expected to be very low.
Several arrests have already been made, and the Guard has begun a full investigation to determine if any more agents of this company are hiding amongst our population."

Owen Belmont slumped down in his comfy chair after retreating to the tower for contemplation.
The attack had happened suddenly, one moment the town square had been quiet, the next moment a city guard was shouting about undead on the northern docks. His feet took a mind of their own and him and the majority of the square made for the dock, Owens voice ringing out with words of power as he surrounded himself in a few powerful arcane protections. The group turned the cornor but the battle was already underway, the air filled with the sounds of swinging swords and spells being fired from the mages already on the scene.
Owen slid to a stop and shot his arms forward, letting loose a rigid ray of frost that froze one of the zombies in its tracks, Owens attention was drawn to several men on the dock itself, men in familiar uniforms, men from the Kessiel Enterprise company.
A few moments later he was running down the streets of Cordors western district, conjuring freezing cones of ice to stamp out rampant fires.
The events were clear in his memory, but when he thought on them it all seemed to start, and end quickly.
The Kess Enterprise soldiers had broken two of Cordors major laws, the main one being the law that prohibits undead from entering the city. He frowned deeply, this matter had concerned him greatly. He knew Horatio was a thief, albeit a well organized one, which means they were probably after something during their diversionary attacks, and what scared Owen the most, is they probably got away with it too.
He sighed and closed his eyes for a moment, then he began to write down things he wanted to talk to his Weave Knights about. He sat at his desk for hours on end, every few moments he would sniff the air, convinced he could still smell the acrid smoke of burning rooftops.
