Hello everybody. I'm LordIvul and I'm new to Amia. I decided to try out playing on this server, wanting to try something new in Neverwinter Nights after beating all official campaigns.

The problem is: I screwed up from the beggining. First thing I've done after installing the mod was the create a character, I named this character Alalith. I got transported to "Welcome to Amia" location and started exploring all rooms about deity, subspecies etc. After descovering that Amia supports subspecies with all bonuses, level penalties etc, I thought that it would be great for my character to be a drow, but I couldn't change species now. I exited, reentered server and discovered that I cannot delete character, so I just made new, named Alalith Eselroth, the same as previous stat wise, just with drow subspecies added. When I reached the room where you can activate subspecies, I got kicked out.

Well, I figured I had to really screw up something if I was kicked out. Maybe I was considered a bot? Maybe because I didn't write any backstory for my character? Maybe because my character was deemed to OP (I read on forum that OP characters aren't desired in Amia, and well, Rougue Drow with 18 Dex and 18 Intelligence is very strong). Well, I don't really know. My question is: can characters be deleted? I've done some more research on Amia (should have done that early, but I was a bit too excited that I found something like Amia) and I'd like to make my character completely from scratch, think off good story for her/him etc.

Also, is having multiple characters prohibited? I know it's not allowed to give items between your own characters.

Btw, if you have any tips about Amia for a newbie like me, I'd be glad if you shared some.

You didn't do anything wrong brother. Once you type "Drow" into your subrace upon character creation, when you go activate it on the Amia server it boots you. Just to add the Drow abilities / stats onto your character. You're allowed to log back in immediately after. As for having multiple character? That is perfectly allowed! However, many don't name the same character twice. As long as they're not a exact copy it is okay. You could easily remove a character from your vault by typing the command words " f_file vault". That will open up an option to show all your characters. From there you can easily remove them. However, we're having an issue with the scripts I think. So that will have to hold off.

Hello Ivul!

As far as I know, it is normal to be 'kicked out' from the game after you activate a subrace because the game has to change your stats(They are different from the typical 'elf' ones on the character creation!). You do not get kicked for picking a strong class combination or build.

You are allowed to have as many characters as you like. The easiest solution would simply be to create a new character with a different name and take it from there. Don't worry about the Bio/Description screen too much because you can change that in-game.

Thanks for help. I'll try and delete that first character, also good to know that I didn't do anything wrong. Well, now I'm gonna explore all possibilities Amia gives. Wish me luck and maybe we'll meet in-game.

First of all, welcome to the server!

When you activate a non-default subrace your character gets booted while the changes are applied. Don't worry, you can log right back in again, you didn't screw up.

No limit to how many characters you can have, I'd be pretty screwed in that case (currently over 70 and counting...).

A few naysayers always grumble about "OP" characters, but there's no rule about it. As long as you don't take advantage of bugs or do something that severely contradicts lore (like a druid with an undead summon) you shouldn't limit yourself in that regard.

As for tips, Misty Potions (Ghostly Visage) are hugely beneficial at the lower levels, since the damage reduction offsets the tiny health pools.

Edit:
Note that subraces are case-sensitive and should always be written in all lower-case letters (IE: "drow"), otherwise it doesn't work.

Don't be afraid to use the "Tell" function in game to ask OOC (Out of Character) questions of the players around. Only a couple of us bite.

Also, you can't delete the character, you can put it in the "Archive" so it won't show up in your "Vault" when you log into Amia.

L'Obsul is a little tricky to get around in, be patient and talk to all the NPC's (Non-Player Characters, guards, merchants, drow standing around etc). There are starting quests that don't involve battle to get you to Level 3. Buy rope! Its rough down there and it's easy to get killed. The rest of the players of Drow are great people and will be very helpful. The drow characters... well you know.

please make use of the newb equipment scattere around cordor such as the brooch of shielding sold by the dwarf at the gate, and misty potions. the beginner quests are:

the courier in cordor east
the sewage worker in cordor sewers
the farm hand in cordor north
the guard beyond the west gate in cordor
and then mage guard philipi in cordor east near the gates.
