Did a search with regards to traps and found a post on modifications to the trap system that Glim was working on in Spring of 2014. Did this ever get implemented? If not, is the system in amia custom or is it Default NWN?

It is default afaik

Edit: Though we do seem to be getting stackable traps in the new(ish) future! Woo!

On the Trap Manipulator menu there is an option to upgrade traps that are set on the ground and when I click on it the feedback states "Your traps have not been upgraded" and nothing else.

Any clues?

I think that has to do with the Master Scout class.

I think it is default besides the change to trap stacking. If you try and stack traps now, it cancels the action que before the next trap can be placed if its in the same "green" area as another trap". Correct me if I am wrong?

I don't know the specifics as I don't play trappers, but yes you cannot stack traps in the same spot anymore. I don't know if there can or cannot be any overlap, but I know they won't go in the exact same spot on the ground.

It is possible to overlap, but only by placing the next trap just outside the green border of a previous trap. So the overlap will occur half way in to one or more traps. But I think the maximum "kill zone" that can be created using overlap where all traps will trigger at once is around 3-4 traps.

Something like this:

You need to face your character in the direction of the arrows when placing.

Is there any info out there on what the Master Scout "upgrade traps" option really does as far as game mechanics, I do not see anything with regards to it in the Modifications sidebar for that or for that matter "bombs"

Also, dialog in upgrade says $10000 gold, thinking that is only $1000.

If you upgrade a trap and then recover it, is the upgrade still on the trap or is it lost?

I'm not gonna go into the specific effects of the upgrades here on the forums, but both they and the bombs have them described in the item bio. I will say that they're very slight upgrades, however, like increased durations and minor debuffs, and they also depend on the save DC of the trap itself.

If you're wondering how you actually apply them, it's by using the trap tool while having the upgrade in your inventory (the item itself doesn't do anything). You select how big an area you're upgrading traps in, and the tool then scans the area for friendly traps and removes any matching upgrade parts from your inventory to give them the extra effect. If there are more traps than upgrade parts, only the ones closest to your character gets upgraded.

That's what they used to cost. The prices on Master Scout items have been reduced from their initial (ridiculously expensive) cost. The actual cost is shown in your combat log when you craft.

The upgrade is lost.
