ggrekt wrote: *edited out for inappropriate content* Seriously? I find the fact that someone created an account just to post this entirely childish. This is exactly what is wrong with the server, people behaving poorly like this. If anyone knows who this was please feel free to PM me the details. I would love to find out just why they are so disgruntled with the other players in the game that they had to resort to acting like a child. msheeler. |

I've forwarded your suggestion, again. I don't have access or know how to do that, but I like the idea. |

I don't have the words to properly express how pathetic and sad it is that players do this to each other. Quote: Hey Msheeler, I received these two PM's from ##### and #####:
Quote: Message subject: Hey mate From: ##### Sent: Thu, Jun 11 2015, 13:24 PM To: ##### Message You're a cunt. That is all. And Quote: Message subject: You around? From: ##### Sent: Thu, Jun 11 2015, 13:49 PM To: ##### Message You manipulating piece of vermin #####. You're a danger to everyone around you, you ##### psychopath. Do the world a favor and go live alone in the woods. Or die. Whatever works. #####. I'm not sure how they're going to be stopped, though. Any help you can muster with this would be appreciated, but I'm not really taking what they're saying all that personally. I know it's disruptive, but it's not harming me. Thanks, ##### |

I can't express how sad seeing that makes me. I agree with the suggestion above. This is getting ridiculous. |

Maybe the fourms admins can make a "Block" button? Would be helpful for situations like this. That way it keeps your inbox clean. |

As long as people believe they can remain anonymous, they'll continue to act like that our make junk accounts to slag off DMs or players on the forums privately or publically. Personally I love hate mail. It's delicious. I can't understand the mentality of idiots who send it as telling me that there's someone out there I apparently get to so much merely drives me onward and gives me something to show my friends and laugh at you about. |

This sort of thing, and alt accounts in general..... it's more harm than good. People will go to any length to be anonymous so they can be dicks. One acct, linked to the forum acct, and both IG and forum acct should have the same name. |

Frankly, it looks more like someone randomly trolling the community than hate mail. Might even be some stray internet troll that found his way to the forums. The content is rather generic and nondescript "haha you suck" kind of crap. |

Analog Kid wrote: One acct, linked to the forum acct, and both IG and forum acct should have the same name. Disagree, strongly. I have two accounts because, well, sometimes I don't want to deal with the drama that gets tossed my way by being an established player. It's nice to be thought of as a server newb at times. |

Also, that would mean i'd have to change the name for the forums? |

It's probably a better idea to just recognize that they're trolls, whether they're long time players or people who found the forums and decided to stir the pot, and leave it at that. So they call a few nice people mean names over the internet... ![]() I think inconveniencing everyone because a few people are feeling salty does more harm than good. |

It's not meant to be an inconvenience, just an eye opener and a call out of those that behave soso immature |

No one should have to deal with such crap, for any reason. Saying, "Oh they're just trolls" just excuses their conduct and almost justifies it. By preventing them from being able to post such rubbish all together would also help to stop souring the attitudes of players receiving this sort of thing, and gods knows right now we can use a cessation to the negativity that seems to be spreading. |

I understand where you're coming from, and I'd be inclined to agree if tying forum and in-game logins wouldn't annoy many people, but, personally, I think it's always better to avoid feeding the trolls. Seeing such a big deal made out of their nonsense will only stroke their internet egos and encourage more of it. If they can be exposed without disrupting everyone else, go for it. If not, I suggest letting it be. |

This sort of behavior /needs/ to be policed. Ignoring is enabling it....this /cannot/ persist. The server is suffering the idiots already. Our own 'inconvenience' should be irrelevant. This shit has to stop. |

I am on the opposite end of CrazyCatLady, though I respect her view and the feelings of others. I personally feel it hurts users more to make any kind of major change based on this minor instance of trolling, which SEEMS easily ignorable to me. But not everyone is me and some people are genuinely triggered by crude behavior like that. So do what you feel you must, but for my part, don't send a skinned knee to triage. |

Same as Yoss for me. It's so sad and disappointing that people feel the need to do this stuff at all. It just tends to take a lot to bother me to the point of needing to make it public. On a further note, I'd rather just increase security quietly, shake my head and honor people's pain from this kind of thing in private. It's like there's no such thing as bad press. Topics just make the assholes want to do it more. Sadly. |

I felt the same way about heeler posting this in the first place! Not to mention that this instance is not a very good model for "the thing that is wrong with Amia", like it is the number one problem responsible for all of our ills. |

Locking this as it does not seem to lead to anything helpful. We'll look into the issue of trolling/flaming and if we have any good and useful ideas we'll announce it in time. |
