So I would like to add skills to some items but the skill I want to add isnt on the list- can I trade my mythical in to have the appropriate skills added or do I have to make dc requests?

You can mythal skills on non weapons only. Which includes holdable items as they have a weapon base.

So if you want a weapon, or holdable item, with skills it needs a DC request, yup.

Mythal system is pretty old. If I remember right it was primarily done that way to not give mages an even higher skill advantage.

It wasn't weapons or holdable I was trying to mythal the skill I'm trying to dis isnt used in magic and isn't even available on the roll list from your dice bag. an I trade in my mythals to get some skills on some existing gear ? Or will I have to dc request?

It would help if you could tell me what kind of item it was?

And if you want a unique item that cannot otherwise be crafted I'm affraid it is a DC request, not a trade in.

Boots gloves rings and cloak And I'm really just trying to add the skill to existing items but the skill isn't on the list of skills.
They are mostly mundane items and all of them have space and power for more.

I would really just like to mythal in a few small skills to some gear however the skill in soon the skill list. All the other skills seem to be there but this one.

I assume you are keeping the skill itself quiet to avoid telling too much? If so, that is perfectly fine, but it does leave me curious as to what skill didn't get accounted for in the mythal scripting.

Normally those items can get skills added.

I'll be bold and assume it is ride. Seeing it is a "newer" skill and the mythal system is old, it likely has never been added.

In this case I personally don't mind to exhange mythals + gold fee to add it. As long as it is an item that normally can have skills mythalled on and it does not exeed the normal mythal slots + skill hight (aka +5)

Ah, that would make sense. Yeah what Amarice-Elaraliel suggests is probably easiest. Any DM with toolset access can do that.
