I am not letting Hackums quit and sneak out the back door on Christmas Eve. Instead, here is a topic devoted to try to properly thank him. Why, you ask? Because I love that man. The craziness of today and not having a moments time to write, wont let me keep me from doing it anyway.
Some of the fondest moments of roleplay I had on this server happened between Aylomen and Robert. His characters were always a treat to interact, with their manifold personalities and his magnetic stories that never failed to draw you in.
He has contributed so much to this server not only as a player and dm, but also as a voice of reason and fairness within the community. He was the DM I have respected the most in the past years. His presence on the DM Team gave them a respectability and trustworthiness, because you knew that he would always be there to stand up for the players if an issue would arise.
So thank you Hackums, truly. You contributed so much, and without you I would have likely not only dropped out of the design team a long time ago, but also had far fewer enjoyable roleplay moments. The way you worked with the playerbase will always for me remain the example of how DMs should all do it.
You leaving is a profound loss for the server. So thank you, and I really hope you will return as you enrich the experience here for a great many players.

Bye Hackums! You've always been a friendly DM to talk to and wish you well player-wise or elsewhere

What Hackmus wrote in the BRB AFK thread does not ring a bell with me. As far as I could tell, he was always the one to politely reason with the players, even when they deserved nothing short of a dull and blunt answer. That is how I will remember Hackmus.

Aw man! I hoped you'd reconsider but I am an optimist and I will stick to my hopes! In the meanwhile have some great holidays and enjoy yourself. I will just quote a part of Ponies words that I can echo: Quote: I really hope you will return as you enrich the experience here for a great many players. If you want to talk about anything you know where to find me on Skype.

Hackums was a good DM in my book. He was always fair, and listened to reason before taking a side.

Ah well. From the forum side of things, not a lot of other DMs are willing to take the bold stance of giving the players the benefit of the doubt first before conceding to an argumentative or defensive position. So I think the playerbase has lost its best ally when processing their wishes to their quiet leadership. As for the game itself, I will remember him as someone who is constantly trying to provoke life into the story, like dripping a drop of water on the twisted up straw paper at Round Table Pizza so that it wiggles on the table while you wait for the big pizza. That will be Hackums. Perhaps the focus from story is switching to a focus on development and building, but without strong storytellers, this project has no more purpose. I take this leave as ultimately a bad sign for things to come. I will miss you buddy.

If I said here, what I said in the other thread, I'd just be repeating myself. So, I'll just quote Ice Ice wrote: Kudark wrote: Is it too soon to start placing bets on when you'll be back?
Thanks for your RP, and everything you've done for the server, you'll be missed more than you think. Maybe we can get that grumpy old guy to tell some tales, some day. Spike his mint julep, and ask him about yesteryear. ^ That. I respect if the man needs a break, it did me some good. Hopefully it won't be too long!

Hackums you've always been great, when I've heard you. Sometimes people need that 'grumpy old man' as a source of wisdom or reason, but maybe they also need him because they dont want grandpappy to go away. I can't account for anything going on behind the scenes, but don't steal yourself away from us completely! Thank you for all you've done no matter what you do.

It's a shame to see you go, Hackums. I did not RP with you a lot, and I saw an event or two that you ran, but I could see everyone loved you, so the loss will echo on everyone here.
Good luck with your future endeavors and I hope you have a lovely holiday. If it's up to me, you are welcome to return anytime, take care!

I've never seen him saying anything out of line, in fact he was always the mediator. One of the first friends that I had on Amia after I started playing as Yaston. Always enjoyed the RP that we had and thanks for all your work as a DM. I really hope that you reconsider and we will see you around soon.

I only know Hackums from his forum posts, but that's enough to know he's a true gentleman. A model of compassion, reason and fairness, he treated every player with kindness and respect. He just wanted us to all get along. He held himself to a high standard and by that inspired me to do the same. I hope he comes back, the server is a better place for his being a part.

You will be miss Hackums. You did a great DM, always concerned about the players, an example to follow and the voice of reason. As player, we had so much fun in my previous incarnation on Amia, some of the best RP with your characters, and since I came back we had few chances to interact but all of them were awesome. I will miss you much. I pray for your return, you leave behind people who love you.

IMO someone skilled in hacking or whatever needs to execute a DOS attack on every site and gaming IP he attempts to use that isn't Amia related.
Then when he has no where else to go maybe he will come back to the forum to bitch and moan about it not knowing it was our ebil plan to suck him back into Amia.
Anyone know hax and stuff?

Ooops ...I thought she was serious. I paid some guy I never met before, to reroute Hackums' computer to Amia only, well and that one site his browser history says he hits most, "Peter Griffin's Kama Sutra". Will an "I'm sorry" be alright?
