Anyone got any book name source based on 3.0 or 3.5 FR having to do with Luskan, Ruathym, and/or Calimshan/Port?

I have a few bits, but they mostly make vague mentions at best. Any titles people know of would be muchly appreciated, even if it's just small entries in them.

Something with more than a brief mention or obscure references. Facts more than story. Though I suppose I could track down all those sources. I was hoping for some quick reliable "there's a lot of info in this spot or this spot" and make it easier on myself.

I don't generally go to wikis unless there isn't much chance otherwise or it'll take more effort than it's worth.

I can offer Forgotten Realms - Campaign Setting which has some lore on Luskan and Calimshan, but most of Ruathym seems written up in Tangled Webs. If anyone else has sources to offer, then you'll probably have a better time with them.

If you already haven't looked Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting 3rd Ed is a good place to start. But to really get details on places I would suggest looking at 2nd Ed source books. They did most of the FR lore fleshing out in this edition, and then used it to make the 3rd Ed stuff.

For Calimshan maybe try: Empires of the Shining Sea and Calimport

For Luskan and Ruathyam I am not sure if their is much but try: The North: Guide to the Savage Frontier , Volo's Guide to the North and Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast.

There might be more by that is all I can think off the top of my head.

I would advise always checking both the 2e region book (more/better info) and the 3e equivalent (for changes and updates). But pretty much what Luckbringer said:

Calimport (2e) is about a 100-page book about the city. Empires of the Sands (2e) has some 15 pages. I do not know/have Empires of the Shining Sea, but google to check. 3e info is only in the FRCS, I think.


Volo's Guide to the North has some 20 pages on Luskan (Sword Coast got nothing). The North: Guide... only has a few pages. FRCS for latest info.

Ruathym is poorly documented. You should ask Yossarin for Amian fluff and look around in Wiltun. But FRCS, 2e and 3e are all I could find. Tangled Webs is a decent novel (Elaine Cunningham is easily the most mature FR author, I think), so worth a look too.

I can, um, advise you where to acquire these if you need.

Ruathym is very elusive if you're looking exclusively online. And even in printed materials I've turned up scant little save details that are tied to a novel or to Ruathym being a background detail in a plot involving the eastern Trackless Sea.
