I can't find anything on this so:

Are the NWN craft skills worth taking points in, or does Amia use it's own craft system? I don't want to start dumping skill points into craft skills like craft trap if they are utterly useless.

Amia uses a Mythal crafting system. Basically, it uses mythal crystals to modify properties on items. Craft Armor, Craft Weapon, and Spellcraft rolls are used for the respective item.

I'm not sure how worthwhile Craft Trap is.

Thanks for that. At least I know if I took those other skills they would not be wasted. Now if someone can tell me if craft trap is worthwhile, or worthless.

My information is a bit old, but as I recall the Craft Trap system isn't really worth the investiture beyond for bragging rights. I had a kobold trap master who made her own traps, and I was never really much whelmed by it. The materials are expensive and heavy, the Craft process glitches your character, they aren't really any better than just going out and finding them to recover. Good for flavor or having a basis for requesting things but not really practical in use.
