Apologies if my search skills are bad - I didn't see a clear answer to this:

I have three computers with three separately purchased NWN Diamond editions games. I created my character on a desktop PC.

I wanted to play on my laptop the other day but I got booted everytime I attempted to log in.

Is this behavior by design?

If so, that's fine, as I can legally script around the problem (if it's related to the CD Key)

Make a new character on an account that keeps getting booted and ask a DM to verify your CD keys for you.

EDIT: Or use the same CD keys for each computer if no one else is going to be logging on at the same time with the same CD keys.

Thanks for the replies. Since it's CD Key related - I have a solution already scripted out from my end! No need to bug anyone

You do not have to get a DM to approve your CD key. All you need to do is to open nwncdkey.ini file located in your NWN folder and to change the CD key so that it matches the one on your other PC.

I have a way to script this at game launch if anyone is interested. I'll post it when I get home.

Basically, you put take all your nwncdkey.ini files and rename them to whatever is easiest to follow:

Player1nwnkey.ini, Player2nwnkey.ini

Put them in a directory such as: c:\nwn\keys

Write a cmd file that will copy a specific key and rename it to nwncdkey.ini - and then overwrite the existing nwncdkey.ini at game launch. For this example you would have 3 cmd files shortcutted to your desktop. Whoever is playing at the desktop/laptop will click on the appropriate cmd file and problem solved!
