Hi!
I am new to Amia (and almost new to nwn too, even if i have years of experience in pen&paper DnD) and i was trying to log in Amia and see how a RPG server works.
i installed the game, updated, patched and everything works fine, from single player campaign to expansions to other persistent world.

When i try to log in Amia i can create a character, it saves, but when i hit the "play" button i am kicked out to the starting menu with a message that sounds more or less like "you have been kicked out" (my apologizes if its not exactly correct, but i have italian version of the game so i receive the message in italian, guess its a good translation thou).

Do you know what can be happened? my game version should be legal (a friend of mine lent me this copy) and it works with every other server i tried.

Thanks in advance,

A.

Amia has a Hak pack you need to install to play. See this page:

It may have something to do with your CD Key, but I'm no expert on this. You may need DM assistance.

Welcome to Amia, regardless, and have fun once you get in!

Regardless that the game is an old one you still need a valid retail cd-key.
After many years and apartment moves I lost one of my cd-boxes so I bought a fresh copy on gog.com. What they do not tell you is that you have to email them and ask for a unique cd-key, otherwise you just get one which only works on offline play :)

If your friend gave you the disc, and you are new to NWN and particularly Amia, I'm assuming this same friend turned you onto us. Perhaps he uses the CD Key he gave you with the disc? If so, it will not work because his CD Key will be registered under his account. Now.. this is the fun part.

If you are playing at opposite times, you can register the CD Key to your account as well. You just won't be able to play at the same time.

If you want to play together, I would suggest as someone above me did, to purchase a new multi-player CD Key from GOG.com. I think it's like $10.00. Then reinstall with new key they send you. When you log in with that, you may have to make a new toon (if the one you tried actually saved to the vault) and let a DM know that you would like your CD Key authorized.

Hope this helps :)

Try clearing out your override/hak folder of things not Amia! They've conflicted with people in the past, it seems.

i fixed that and could log in yesterday, but i got an issue about toon overlapping (i made 2 toons with the same name but doenst seem the second overwrote the first) so i could not play (its not that easy for me to write a toon description, it takes some time :D )

see you soon online

You can write descriptions IG with the /s f_bio commands. They're in your journal.

Make a new char but do NOT make the name the same. Then you can tinker away all you like.
