Whoa. Seriously? That's a fairly drastic reversal of what I thought the team's general position on language rules was. :) How is this thing going to work?

I just goes "[Language] Your Text", it doesn't have it's own language or anything.

I really hope some of it will be class specific like Druidic

Non Druids can't pick druidic. Hence why it should not be selectable but class restricted is what she means.

It requires a DM to grant the language to a PC, as explained in the in-depth language topic by Terra.

Yarp. In the case of Druidic, technically a non-Druid would be able to learn it however the Druid that taught it would be Fallen immediately. So actually it would make a lot of sense with the system. You'd have to prove how you learned it, by PC or NPC. And the NPC would be governed strictly by the DMs and a PC would probably get a Fall, lol.

Yeah, but also, you ought to have someone teach you druidic who knows it. In the same way that not all people who take rogues as a class will automatically know Cant, tongues must be taught.

Thieves Cant is not a language, its slang. Its common, with heavy slang. Saying one thing and meaning another.
Thieves Cant - "Going to the tea kettle to get a bag of leaves"
Translation - "Going to the dealer to buy some herbs"

Quite correct.

Thieves cant could be spoken in any language, since it's a sort of code. Theoretically, other long established organizations of a more covert nature might have their own cant as well but that's more IC flavour.

Also...what about the half-elves for example? Can they get Elven as their racial language or should they use a language point for that?

Another thing...What about the job system? I would assume that historians, linguists, archeologists, priests and other related intellectuals who might work with foreign languages could get bonus points, no?
