How fast does time pass In-Character, on Amia?

Do characters have to retire if they are percieved to be at a vulnerable age (i.e. 75 years old or something for humans, a billion years old for elves, etc)?

no they don't,you can play as long as you like, I have had my shifter for like 7 years I think.

And time is a 1:1 ratio in-game, anyway. At least, that's as far as the official DM passage of time goes. Players (and DMs) can "speed-of-plot" their story arcs or events or plots, meaning if you need a few months to pass, go right ahead! There won't be any penalty - except perhaps the awkwardness of someone following 1:1 ratio meeting up with your adventuring kid who was a baby two months ago.

It isn't strictly enforced though, unless you do something silly; like ageing the character insanely fast. Then you'll get a slap on the wrist.

But if I were to pretend that my wizard, since he's leveling up very fast, had been spending roughly a week or even a couple weeks in between levels studying and practicing, that might not be frowned upon?

Not at all. If anything, studying as a wizard before or after gaining each level would be smiled upon.

It certainly wouldn't be frowned upon, but if it were me, I'd just kind of handwave the specific study time intervals without directly nailing them down IC. I just know I'd end up referring to "that glorious adventure we had three weeks ago" or some such thing, when actually it was yesterday, and getting weird looks from everyone.

Heh, good point! I've got an idea now that I think about it...

I'm going to make him level up from monsters, but only take the levels after he studies a while, and RP's it with people
