If you have a problem again with the guard again, simply take a screenshot or two and tell a DM. There's no need to put this stuff in open sight.
As for their authority, guards are just that: Guards. Their job is to maintain peace in their town, village, etc. If you need some clarifications on some rules regarding a a specific town, feel free to poke a DM about it.
Someone feel free to correct me if I' mistaken.

This is something that you should PM to a DM rather than post on the forums (that's not me being brusque, just that you are going to be soon told they by others, hah).
That said, I'm sorry for the unsettling experience but Wiltun is a finicky entity (I have a character that is a Jarl-Warden there), and anything the guards say IC goes, for the most part (Wiltun can be compared to a harsh wild west sort of town). Now, the PvP part goes two ways. If the guard (anywhere) says 'do this or I'm kicking you out' then they are giving you the option to avoid PvP (as per the rule, the 'out' given is complying with the guard's mandate). So that portion is definitely legit, so long as you have the clear understanding of 'do this, it's all over; do this, you're getting in a fight'. At least, I look at it that way (from the perspective of someone on your side of the incident).
But yeah, definitely PM a DM. I'd even say blank copy the post, PM a DM with it, then blank your post out.

Fair enough, I will do so.
I'm sure that guards are empowered to do what they will, I've run into plenty of 'evil' role players that were quick to point out they were just playing evil and not actively being jerks. I have no problem with that, and have had some fun because of it.
It just seems counter intuitive that players can't lock other players out of dungeons in the wilderness yet you can be locked out of main travel hubs by other players. Perhaps it's just an unexpected twist for us. (Completely for her, this is literally her first time playing a video game online. It's one of the reasons we chose NWN as it seemed a little more new player friendly than, for example, a MMO.)

The two above summed it up.
And yes, we do ask that players not post specific instances on the forums. General questions are fine, but specific issues over something that happened IG should be brought to any DM directly, rather than posted on the forums.
Please feel free to PM me or any of the other DMs.
